  1. Going ok now that I have the pieces.
  2. No,no. I threw the empty bags in the trash. I found the unlocked bag at home.
  3. No space. I normally build at work while on lunch break. Since this set is so big, I took only part 1 bags knowing I wouldn't finish it and get to bag 2 yet.
  4. Thanks for the ideas people. Yay. I got home. It's on the floor. Must've fell out when I was unboxing it. Whew.
  5. @prateek- I'm holding off a bit. since I didn't open all the other bags, I don't want to call them multiple times for one set. :) I know there was a un numbered bag in the #1 bags. I'm pretty sure I didn't toss it. I'll check the trash again for the 3rd time. Augh. ppl already threw food in the trash... update: YES! You confirmed 5 bags with the number #1. I waded into the trash AGAIN. I found 4 bags with the #1 and 2 unnumbered bags. So I'm missing one #1. I'm hoping it's at home. It's the 1st bag one the top left. I can see other things I'm missing like the yellow lights. Whew. I hope it's at home.
  6. I didn't mean to imply that. I was talking about if there was a "Proper" review. I was going to be doing one on this at a later date. And now that you mentioned Wands... NONE of my characters has wands. So I don't have ANY brown sticks from my bags #1... Now I'm really wondering if I'm missing something... I have the map. I have completed characters. So if the brown wands was in any of those bags(where the figs came from), I must be missing them. Hmm...
  7. I was going to do a review on the set, but ran into this problem. :(
  8. Anybody else had missing pieces? I started building mine and I opened bag set #1. And I'm missing parts for the hat rack and even the owl rack. I only have book #1 with me, but the parts is the dk brown 2x pieces that holds the name of the hat rack. And the brown stick that holds the owl. I stopped building at that point. I remember opening 5 #1 bags. Does it sound like I'm missing a bag?
  9. Too many good people going to a better life. He will be missed. I am sorry to hear that he left us. Starstreak
  10. Augh and here my wife and I just convinced my son that it's not worth going to Legoland again and we should go somewhere else this year.
  11. Not that it's really ugly, but for that they looked like they randomly stuck pieces on the bottom so it could stand up on a table, instead of having real landing gears. If the round studs you're talking about, I think they were used in making part of the cockpit area. Not at home so I can't look at the instructions. Either that or are u talking about the grey studs that are under the gun barrels?
  12. Thanks! I'm glad you folks like the review! Overall, it is a very sleek starfighter. I would rather fly this than a Jedi starfighter.
  13. Lol. That's what happens when you have kids. I didn't even notice it being there. I just took it off my shelf. I like the new cockpit. Heck the old one even had a huge gap between it and the body.
  14. This review will be on the 7915 Imperial V-wing Starfighter Set Name: 7915 Imperial V-wing Starfighter Theme: Star Wars Released: 2010 for 2011 Pieces: 139 Price: $19.99/14.98 EUR/12.91 GBP I ordered mine from Lego.com. Here are some quicklinks Lego.com, Brickset, Bricklink Wanna see some pictures? Let's start with the normal box arts and manuals! Box art front I do like the new style of boxes. Looks very well done. Nice background without too much fluff to throw you off on what's in the box. Box art rear Like the other 2011 boxes, it shows what moves and views of other sets for you to spend your hard earned money on. Btw, the original 6205 V-Wing did not have wings that swivel. Parts list Parts Bags Notice that they didn't put the nose piece in any bag. Oh no. There's no numbered bags. Oh how am I going to build this... Instruction Manual I wish there was a way to not get the manual all bent out of shape. Sticker sheet The stickers felt a bit thicker. I hope they don't peel off/get brittle in less than a year like some of my other stickers. Oh, the 6205 V-Wing didn't use any stickers. Minifigs Front R2-Q2 and the Imperial Pilot. I love the silver look for the R2. Minifig Back R2-Q2 and the Imperial Pilot. But I hate the swirly marks the silver makes in the R2 shell. On to the build! Here is your first view of the gear that helps rotate the wings. Not very hidden. That "L" grey technic piece is used so the wings only rotate in one direction and also so it stops at the right angle for flight. Nice idea, but again, not very authentic looking on the set. Finished! Not bad looking. Extra Parts Wow. Only 2 pieces. Even the smaller sets have more spare parts. lol. Finished photos A picture on how R2-Q2 fits in the back. Oh look. He flies without his body. Front view This view give the ship a very sleek profile. Don't ever look under this ship. Very ugly. But it's better than the 6205 in that respect. Rear photo Ah, now you can see the gears for the wings. I guess it's cheaper to make stickers for the imperial logo than to make pieces with it on them. Front profile Final shot from the front. Canopy open Yes. No control panel. And yes, he's holding his weapon. Why? The instruction book shows him in the cockpit that way. Very sad. At least the cockpit is hinged. The 6205 is not. 6205 vs 7915 I'm sorry for the BRIGHT yellow stands. I don't have any clear pieces. Overall they are about the same size, but you can see where the extra thought went into making the newer version. Larger, rotating wings, detailed nose, better canopy, and stickers. But that's a toss up. Front view Rear view Again, you can see how it's cleaned up some. Since the new version uses stickers, the wings don't look as bulky. The wing hubs don't have holes in them. Comments: I like this set. But only because it's a V-Wing. It feels cheaply made. Better than the 1st version, but not up to par. Like buying the Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter for $99. It didn't feel like a UCS set. This set kept wanting me to want more. My rating Playability: 4/5 This is playable. They give you both the pilot and full droid. And the R2-Q2 is unique. Nothing really breaks easy. And parts move for great action flying for the kids. Build experience: 2/5 Easy build. I see no problems in putting this together. EXCEPT for the stickers. I HATE putting round stickers on. It's a pain to get them just right in the middle without it looking like something isn't right. Overall: 2.5/5 I can see this going on clearance. It's OK. Good for collecting if you love Star Wars. But a bit weak on design. I can just see Toys R Us selling this for $30. Resist the store. Well, unless it's the $19.99 price. Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it! All photos are viewable in full size on my flickr site. Here is a direct like to my: 7915 Imperial V-wing Starfighter
  15. Thanks for the review. I want the minifigs. But I guess to get them, I'll need to add ANOTHER starfighter to my list.
  16. Yes, but what makes this a cool set is that it comes with both the speeder and the canon. :)
  17. The canon is stable. Solid rod in the middle. There is only one gear to move the canon up/down, so I guess with enough force you could strip it. But it won't sag. I like it. Not the greatest SW set, but its better than most, and the price isn't totally jacked up.
  18. Glad you liked the review. So hard now to do reviews. For those who have flickr accounts and aren't my friend, ask me and I'll add you. I have a bunch of sets I didn't setup a review yet. I don't know if Luminara is any different. I know in the wookie set she has a lightsaber that lights up. Had I known, I would've bought that set way back when...
  19. This review will be on the 7869 Battle for Geonosis Set Name: 7869 Battle for Geonosis Theme: Star Wars Released: 2010 for 2011 Pieces: 331 Price: $39.99/$30.19 EUR/25.92 GBP I ordered mine from Lego.com. Here are some quicklinks Lego.com, Brickset, Bricklink Wanna see some pictures? Let's start with the normal box arts and manuals! Box art front I do like the new style for the box art. The blue on the edges matches well. Box art back Same here, looks pretty. And they show the moving parts on the canon. And the way they display the other new sets is designed better than just using square boxes. Parts list Many unusual parts in this box. You'll see in another picture. Parts bags Three bags. 1 is figures and speeder. 2 is the canon legs, and 3 is the Proton Canon. Interesting Parts Fake hydrolic parts, but looks neat. They move in and out and have enough friction to make it seem like it's doing something. Not seen very often, but you get a SNOT piece. Minifigs front 1 2 Battle Droids, a Super Battle Droid, Captian Rex and Luminari Unduli (With face mask) Minifigs front 2 2 Battle Droids, a Super Battle Droid, Captian Rex (helmet removed) and Luminari Unduli (With normal face) Minifigs back 2 Battle Droids, a Super Battle Droid, Captian Rex and Luminari Unduli. I wish the Super Battle Droid's back was filled in. As it is, it looks so.. like a playing piece from a board game. BARC Speeder build Finished shot of the BARC Speeder. Interesting use of skis. Not sure about the harpoon guns. It'll shoot her in the hands. See finished photo with Luminari Unduli sitting in it Proton Canon build The clear piece in the middle is used to hold a worm gear to help make the canon move up or down. Here is where they used the hydrolic shocks. The legs can move in and out and left and right. I wish it move up and down at the base so you could make it walk. And here is where they used the SNOT piece. Hmm I think TLG used a piece like that on the Slave-1. Who would have guessed a barrel could be used as a canon front? Nice idea. Finished Proton Canon. Good view of the gunner's chair. Finished Photos Front Side view Rear side view Proton Canon front view Proton Canon rear view Finished group shot. Comments: I like this set. The only thing that bothers me a lot is the Canon looks too much like a face. For all the new 2011 sets that came out, I think this one was one of the best sets to get. 5 minifigures a speeder and a Proton Canon. The hydrolics on the legs are neat. It adds to the realism. The BARC Speeder is pretty awesome too. I wouldn't mind riding that more so than one of those speeders they used on Endor. I guess you could say the BARC Speeder is the Harley, while the ones used on Endor is the Honda Autocross bikes. My rating Playability: 4/5 This is playable. The Speeder is great, the Proton Canon can move up/down and the legs move too. Oh! And it shoots a projectile. While the real canon doesn't, at least it helps when playing in a battle. Luminari Unduli looks just like her. The driving googles look funny, but the regular face looks like her. Not sure why they included Captain Rex. I wish they would've given Barriss Offee, her Padawan so Ashoka would have someone her age. Build experience: 3/5 Easy build. Nothing really breaks easy once put together. NO stickers. Overall: 4/5 Very good set. I like all the unusual parts and for the price you get two main pieces, the Proton Canon and BARC Speeder. Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it! All photos are viewable in full size on my flickr site. Here is a direct like to my: 7869 Battle for Geonosis
  20. You guys are funny. But if I remember right, doesn't the magnets NOT hold very well?
  21. Thanks for the wishes! T.S.N- Cute. My daughter would like that set. Funny. Now that I think about it, the Lego store had that in a grab bag for $7 something. B.Cam- I have the castle for the new H.Potter, but didn't have time to build it yet. I wanted the train set but the price is unreal here in Hawaii. Somewhere between $70-105 for it. I have the new SW Shuttle waiting to be built but no time. I saw the new Jedi Starfighter but price and how it looked didn't make it sound all that great.
  22. And for those checking my profile, my year is wrong. :) I'm old enough not to share my age, yet young enough to enjoy Lego! Wait... You can never be too old. I saw so close in buying the Imperial Flagship but the lego store's computer was down. :( I don't think I ever bought a "Pirate" set.
  23. This review will be on the 8169 Lego Gallardo LP-560-4 Set Name: 8169 Gallardo LP-560-4 Theme: Racers Released: 2009 Pieces: 741 Price: $59.99/$51.16 EUR/45.96 GBP It was $70.99 here in Hawaii. Thank goodness I picked this up last year when I was at Legoland for the MSRP. Here are some quicklinks Lego.com, Brickset, Bricklink Wanna see some pictures? Let's start with the normal box arts and manuals! Box art front Very nice box art for the front. While the oil stains add depth to the photo, it also give the impression that it leaks oil. At least to me it does. Box art rear The back of the box goes into good detail on the two Lamborghini cars. Manual covers Nothing fancy. Just a dupe of the front of the box. Parts bags No marked bags here. At 700+ pieces I know I'll have fun looking for pieces. Parts lists Sticker sheet This is actually my second sticker sheet. My first one was messed up inside the box. I'm happy they sent me a replacement. Random photos Sweet tires! I couldn't wait to see what they looked like in hand. Too bad it turned out to be just rim covers like you find in Wallmart to cover steel rims. Oh, can't forget the hologram logo. Here is how the roof opens and closes. You can of course see my video at the end of the review where I show how it opens and closes too. Picture of the rims and tires Even if this set turns out to be a dud, I know I wanted the rims. Imagine my surprise to find out its "normal" rims but with wheels covers. At least it still looks good with them on the tires. It actually makes the tires look like low profile tires. Only thing I didn't like was how, with the wheel covers on the rims, it made the tires stick out of the side of the car. Build Process- Once again, I suppose you want to see how this beauty of a car gets put together? You're wish is my headache. To save space, I grouped it in 4s. Follow it by going left to right on each line. First off, sorry for the multi-colored background. While the actual Lego is almost the correct color, the white balance was thrown off. Don't adjust your screen. From about here is where you have to dismantle the Gallardo if you want to create the hardtop. But I'll show you the build of the convertible since it's more interesting. Finished Photos Hardtop from the side. Very flowing in design. Lego is a very... hard edged building toy so it's hard to make smooth angles, but they did it well. Rear shot. You can see a clear view of the engine. In the convertible version, the engine is completely hidden. Finished rear shot. That's a nice rear on that car. From far, the tail lights look real and not so much a sticker. Notice the lower rear brake light? Here is the video of the convertible in action. If you click on it and view it on youtube, you can actually watch it in HD. Front shot of the convertible version. Very Lego looking but still very nice. I just wish Lego didn't have to use stickers for the lights. See the updated police version of the Lamborghini. They actually created the headlights. Comments: I could not wait to get this car. I love Lamborghini car designs. Since this was an official set, Lego could get all the official markings for the car. It turned out very good for Lego first try. The Polizia set came out much better but I would still buy this set even after purchasing the Polizia set. I love how you can make the convertible version of this car. The roof hids neatly inside the rear hatch. I just wish Lego didn't have to use stickers for the lights. The rims are something special too. It's actually normal Lego rims but with a hubcap cover on them with the Lamborghini spokes on them. I wish they went as far as giving emblem stickers for the rims. My rating Playability: 4/5 This is playable. While the front wheels don't turn, they do roll. The doors and even the roof on the convertible can collapse into the rear hatch. Design: 4/5 I would've given it a 5/5 if the Polizia set wasn't out and I saw how much more they could've improved on the set. Like actually creating headlights. Build experience: 3/5 It's made for ages 9-14. My son can build this. He's 8. I think they made it into the higher age group because it's more of a "model" than something that plays well with other LEGO sets. Overall: 4/5 I think this would make a great set if you love collecting cars. It's expensive but I think it costs that much because of the licensing. If you're a AFOL (Adult Fan Of Lego) it doesn't look like a kids toy. I would be proud to display it on my work desk. Too bad work outlawed having personal items on desks... Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it! All photos are click able for larger, bigger-than-life picture sizes! Here is a direct like to my: 8169 Lego Gallardo LP-560-4
  24. Thanks. Glad you liked the review. The group shot came out better than I thought.
  25. Thanks. I fixed it. Typo. I WISH it was $39.99 It's $59.99.
