  1. Valesia looks off into the distance, contemplative as they ride across the darkened dunes. The message plays back in her head, “Is belief sufficient…” The cladrasith closes her eyes, a sing song tune hummed under her breath, they had chosen, only time would tell if they had chosen correctly. She glanced at Glenn, so many… so many thrust into this position of pain, of limbo, outside the normal harmonies of the universe. What could a mechanical being such as that monster know about suffering. What right did that imitation have to judge true hurt and feeling? Valesia looked to her companions, “You did well. More than I ever anticipated would come from a job such as this. You stood true in the face of destruction and I’m glad to have worked with y’all.” As they reached Savior City and Glenn debriefed them, Valesia smiled. “You don’t hesitate to give us a call should you be needing more help with the fallout of this, Hun. Don’t you go thinking you have to handle this on your own. Stay safe…” The cladrasith waves goodbye to their employer and boards the shuttle, waiting for her companions. OoC: Thanks for running Endgame! I had an amazing time. I’m crazy busy this weekend, but definitely will have more to say in the lounge later.
  2. "Glenn, you've got a background in Technology any chance you'd be able to fix it?"
  3. "Purpose then, dear Glenn. Peace in time." Valesia navigates through the darkened corridors, relieved that the hologram still operated, at least partially. "Confirmed. We're here for the black-box, or whatever you can give us to carry the information to the appropriate authorities."
  4. "Alright then, Soren feel free to dispose of the rig if you wish. Let's get to that bunker." Loot: Soren - Adrenaline Decotion, AV Rig Max - Conqueror's Talon Valesia - Holoscroll
  5. Valesia watches as Invictus finally goes quiet, the static in the air and in her spirit finally clearing. The Cladrasith takes a moment to meditate, "Soren Hun, do you require more healing? That was a nasty hit you took back there." Valesia wipes away the sand and dust from her skirts, "Glenn, good shooting. You've brought a semblance of peace hopefully to yourself and others. I'd recommend we head back into the bunker and obtain the storage device." Moving toward the corpse of the robot she assess the Holo-scroll and the Talon, "I'd be content to ensure either of these find a better use. Max any preferences, dear?"
  6. I'll be glad to hear them when you're ready. I agree though, it's fun being able to actively impact a rules system and see how it plays out. I'm considering it, but I think you're point about low traffic overall is valid. Heroica is one of those weird hybrid RPG and I'm not sure how to really promote it anywhere else as it requires not only an interest in RPG's but incorporating Lego as well. I don't know a lot about the standard play by post sites, but I'd imagine they take a lot less prep work as they don't require constructing actual scenery.
  7. The early version was definitely a swing too far in the deadly direction. I'm ok with what we've currently got for a while, you've got a point though about TPK's vs. just single players dying, but I think the same could be said of a lot of RPG's. If one player character has died, it's likely everyone else is going to die unless the party flees.
  8. Depending on your definition of activity 14-16. I really think we've got to keep missions going to maintain activity, sitting in the Hall for 2-3 weeks I'm sure can get boring, so I'm glad to see a mission launching even if it's only with 2 players.
  9. Valesia gasps as she watches one of her companions go down for the first time, the melody of his life force growing softer. "No, no, no. Hang on Soren!" Valesia begins weaving a casting of Sustaining Healing, "Glenn, continue firing, blast that sodding thing out of here."
  10. “Umm not really my job, you can always write a letter I suppose.”
  11. “If you go down sweetie we are going to be in trouble, I hope you know what you are doing. Glenn, be a dear and shoot that bot, off of Soren can ya?” Valesia focuses her energies on channeling the natural harmonies around her into a living cascade of thorns, slamming as an elemental bolt into Invictus. “You wish us to assume the worst of other’s motives yet demand we trust yours, not? No, this ends here.”
  12. “I expect you’ll want it in one of those fancy insulated cups won’t you?” The Chimeran sighs frustratedly pouring the hot tea into a thermos, “Hrmphh, here you are. Wranquen? You mean Mr. Rainlight? One of the board members that manages the hall.”
  13. “Hold tight Max, I’ve got you!” Valesia casts Sustaining Healing on Max. “Glenn keep firing.”
  14. “Oh I almost forgot, we got multiples of each item so don’t feel afraid to pick something someone else did if you want.” “Well depends on your culture of course. Some species, like the Ytaxxian followers of the Sovereign Pantheon, have created reasons to celebrate every day, while certain sects of The Living World faith outright ban any involvement in holidays at all. Personally, we Chimerans are still a little young to have our own, so we’ve assimilated a good number of the culture's we find ourselves in. I'd say you'll find a good four or so celebrated amongst most of the Arm; Yul'Yom (Day of Preparation), Accords Day, Liar's Eve, and Calalemnar (Week of Lights).”
  15. The agents of Heroica Hall are surprised one morning to see the Menahi, Nondos Aghonzath, and a cybernetic enhanced Daraki stacking miscellaneous objects under a Vorbanian Oak tree "Happy Yul'Yom Agents!" The frustrated Ornithun accountant, Kreiri, walks into the hall. "Nondos! Who authorized this? Where in budget was there a line item for Yul'Yom gifts? Do you have any idea how tight things are right now?" "Tight. BWAHAHAHA! Don't you worry your pretty feathery head Ms. Kreiri, I discussed things with Wranquen. He assured me we could afford it. Besides, the heroes enjoy a bit of respite and holiday cheer, it was getting a might gloomy around here!" Thorvald pipes up from behind the bar. "Hrmph... and what's wrong with gloomy?" "Oh don't be a Kruge, Thorvald. Get out the 'nog, pour the mulled-wine, it's time to celebrate Yul'Yom!" The Daraki having finished arranging the odd assortment of baked goods, luggage, and furniture around the tree finally speaks up. "Verily friend Nandos, p'rhaps t wouldst be beneficial to enlighten our bosom companions as to the nature of Yul'yom?" "Surely everyone knows about Yul'Yom, no? Very well then a tale I shall tell!" The Menahi grabs a tankard of mulled wine and settles in beside the tree. "Long ago the ancestors of the O’Kor’uk were enslaved by species of evil folk known as the Vol’Kor’iin. The holiday is in remembrance of that first Yul'Yom, the great Day of Preparation, when the O’Kor’uk made ready to in concert rise up against their Vol’Kor’iin oppressors and win their freedom. In the legend it is said that the smiths and bakers of the O'Kor'uk hid the weapons of revolution in loaves of bread so as not to be discovered by their overlords. Modern day participants of Yul'Yom may not hide blades within baguettes, but still enjoy hiding gifts for their friends and families in oddly shaped or inconspicuous wrappings and making a game of guessing what could be hidden in such misleading packages. Adherents of the Boundless Sky faith carried the tradition with them all throughout the galaxy after the O'Kor'uk Scattering and it later became co-opted by many other cultures. It's a personal favorite of mine and old Vazrurg here." "Tis indeed a chance most noble to remind one the bonds we forge in battle and in life." "Couldn't have said it better old friend! Now agents, why don't you come here and each choose something!" ~*To celebrate this Yul'Yom, all players can pick an item from the list below. All you must do is to state what item you wish to be given. Players currently on missions may also participate and submit their choices. You can choose the same gift as someone else. The gifts will be revealed at the end of December and roughly correspond to the shape of the item chosen.*~ Gifts - Apple - Bagpipes - Baguette - Balloon - Book - Briefcase - Broom - Cake - Chair - Croissant - Fancy Bottle - Milk Pail - Swim Ring - Teapot - Telescope - Trumpet - Turkey - Violin Case - Watering Can
  16. "This might actually call for something more dependable. Glenn keep firing and cover me." Valesia pops an Ætherbrew while retreating to F1.
  17. OoC: Just to provide clarification are you using your potion on Soren (preferred) or handing it to him?
  18. OoC: It's a tossup as he could simply attack the same target twice instead of switching to a different weapon and then attacking once. The key is getting to a range where Max can heal Soren this round with a potion.
  19. OoC: Do you want to shoot first and then move? C3 puts you right next to Invictus.
  20. For a moment the melody falters, Valesia gasps as her sense are overwhelmed by discord, chaos, and pain. The Cladrasith grits her teeth, "I'll... manage Glenn. Stand your ground and... shoot that thing will ya?" Taking a deep breath, Valesia tries to calm her breathing letting the melody wash over her wounds, casting Sustaining Healing on herself before dragging herself nearby the Undead (E3). "Boys, I'd suggest Max fix you up Soren. Don't want you goin' down too soon."
  21. Thorvald calls back over his shoulder to the kitchen. "Hey Gyzup, got an order for a #4, extra large." A voice calls from the back. "Okey dokey I'll get da fryer goin'."
  22. “I suppose if you don’t mind it breaded in panko.”
  23. I forgot to mention this, it was really cool seeing Enson starting to come into his own mechanically throughout the fights. I'm super excited to see how he levels up and whether he'll be the first character with an official "class".
  24. You're spot on. The Glacier Mongers are an intelligent nomadic species that are native to Recivic. They typically tend to avoid interaction with other species. If the party had done more investigation and potentially even split one open they would have found more clues pointing to the Drake and its influence on making them bolder and maybe smarter. The Cricet/Krystal Ice mining conflict is one that I'd like to revisit at some point as I think it has the potential for some more interesting nuance. Plus the setting is really fun to explore as it is so different from almost anything we ever had in Heroica 1.0 aside from maybe one or two quests. You could have asked about a craftsman in Vindkoss, or you can have it crafted back at the Trade Bazaar.
  25. "Ah, food. Yeah, Gyzup could maybe whip you up something, I don't think he's currently got any specials though. I mean I'm sure you could call what he cooks... special, but probably not what you had in mind. Basically if you want anything fried, he's on it, if it requires a different appliance or a more complex utensil than a spork, you're out of luck."
