  1. I think you guys are right. It just doesn't work. I tried to use the 2 pronged "hand" Tahu came with originally and that didn't look great either. I may eliminate any kind of blaster. But, I hate to do that, since they are essentially cops and a side arm seems appropriate. Maybe, the red blaster. I'll give it some thought.
  2. Secrets that connect to another time and place. (Sorry about the repeating audio)
  3. See, that's where my mind is more or less at. You and I seem to be of similar mind sets with this stuff for the most part. :) Aanchir is also correct in that we seem to have a pattern where if something needs a function, immediately Technic parts are shoe horned back in. Making this a system that might never be able to stand on its own as a building system. Unless they create some sort of transition pieces that will start doing the job without the need for the beams and pins. But, that seems incredibly unlikely given that the entire skeletal system is festooned with technic pin holes. Which is why, I believe this really is basically a Technic line.
  4. Officially Bionicle wasn't labeled Technical after wave 1. But, many people, myself included, always thought of them as Technic. And good discussion topics, in my opinion, keep this from just being a MOC showcase forum.
  5. For about...what, a few years now, Lego has been using the term Construction figures to define class of toys in the company. And, there are many people that felt Bionicle was not Technic when they gave up constructed functions with gears and whatnot. Others feel the Agori era was it for Bionicle and its Technical designation. Some feel HF was never Technic. What do you think? Being new to HF, I wasn't sure until I got and built ROCKA XL, which had a build that felt both very Technic and very old school Bionicle, even using the new skeleton structure. (I like to call it the O'Brien build, because when put together, those skeletons look just like one Willis O'Brien made and covered in plaster and fur to make King Kong and Mighty Joe Young.) People who built Von Nebula and Witch Doctor might feel the same way. And recent monsters like Bruizer and Scarox make obvious use of Technic functions...such as they are. So what do you guys think?
  6. My spelling is atrocious. I was just citing examples. They would certain make modern interpretations of any and all characters.
  7. And while I agree with you, I look at Breakout Stringer and think... Ninjago ZX armor. Or something like Mia's Samurai armor (the armor, not the mech). The skeletons would look awesome, the Snakes would be interesting, and Lord Carmaddon with removable limbs would be something that could work.
  8. I don't know much about Evangelin (sp), but I know those robots are super thin and whispy. That you pulled that off with bulky HF parts is damned impressive. Bravo!
  9. Thanks for the tips. Honestly, unlike many of my other MOCS, this one really was a gag. I didn't keep him intact. Once, I "told the Joke" I took him apart. I'm on to more serious endeavors. I've been following Lego Jang's lead and been spending some time tweaking Bruiser, who needed some serious mod work. That figure was basically AWFUL right out of the bag. I'm also considering a MOC of Core Hunter when he was a hero at hero factory. To be legit, I guess I'd need to use a HF 1.0 body...but...ew. Maybe I can fake it with a 2.0....I dunno.
  10. So, anybody else think we might see Ninjago Constraction figures when it comes back next year?
  11. Following in the foot steps of Von Ness, Aldiss Witch...etc. The Greatest Hero ever created by the Hero Factory! Who might, maybe, just possibly become an vengeful embittered Master Super Villain!
  12. I do probably need to consider uploading pics to Brick shelf.
  13. The MOC is awesome and, "HEY KIDS!!! LEGO is HERE!!!!!" :D It should be our Anthem!!!
  14. I'd been making so many monsters and demons lately,I wanted to go in the opposite direction. Not only to make Heroes, but a design Lego is VERY unlikely to do...
  15. Yeah, I was jolted by that line too. I was like..."Cattle russlin' back home at the factory!" I have contemplated some of those books.
  16. No, I get where you're Coming from. And, obviously the current strategy is working, because from what I gather HR. BUT, I do wonder how much of those sales are Bionicle MOCers buying for parts.
  17. That'd be cool.
  18. I grabbed one of the first series of these when they came out. I was intrigued by this weird new idea from Lego. I knew they were on to something, but like so many others, I did not bite. However, in the post Bionicle world of Lego Constraction Figures being common place today...I wonder how a relaunch would do? I bet it would actually be considerably more successful.
  19. A less complex story, yes. But, they could do a lot to improve the writing without making the story overtly complex. Right off the top of my head... Not every villain needs to have a secret past with Stormer. Bulk, Stringer, Zib, and even Makura could be more included in these types of vendettas. And as for Makura, its friggin' Malcolm McDowell. MAKE SOME DECENT USE OF HIM!
  20. I guess, I can't blame TLG. NOBODY wants the TRAGEDY of 2002 to ever befall mankind again! So many lives ruined...so may families decimated... Galidor must NEVER EVER be forgotten.
  21. Ninja go did some pretty impressive story telling and probably will again when it returns. China isn't my thing, but seems poised to be an epic. Both properties are allowed to grow and evolve concepts and characters. Yet, Hero Factory (Hot enough to score a big budget flick by Universal) only seems good enough for a short film every six months or so? I've watched and liked them all so far. I suspect they could do a lot of fun stories with a TV show. So what's the deal? Is there some official word from Lego on the matter? If not, any speculation from you guys?
  22. I have to agree. I haven't like the dragon's design since I first saw it. It reminds me of a child's sketch of a dragon, vs a full fledged dragon. What it needs is modding and I might be up for that. Basically, I think it needs to be bulked up and those wings need to be completely reworked. It has potential.
