  1. That might works. Thanks for the suggestion.
  2. He's my all time favorite Bionicle character and version of said character. I knew I wanted to get him as right as possible.
  3. Thank you, sir. I edited the link. Lol
  4. I knew starting this project that Pohatu would be the biggest challenge. Turning an Ultra Build torso upside just fails on so many levels. So the trick had to be in creating Pohatu's silhouette via a basic skeleton. I stumbled on some of the tricks for that while I was making Insechnic. I'm proud of this one. The Paw was born out of a need for more brown. It was a major bonus that it helped give it more of a Pohatu shape.
  5. I actually, already have revised him. I took most of the blue out to better match his original coloring and very squad car black and white personality. So, he is now wearing the 5 fingered black hands. I'll post a revised pic later today.
  6. Not sure if I have one or not. I'll take a look.
  7. Sorry, I had the wrong URL posted!
  8. The dragon is better than I thought it would be. Already thinking of getting 2 to double the wings, and extend the body, legs, and tail.
  9. Full video and Background for LIAM POHATU...
  10. Full video and Background on Brian Kopaka...
  11. An awkwardly tall Rocks with a huge pile of technic garbage struck to his back. If the wings locked, I might be happier with this. Unfortunately, even though I adore Rocks... I will probably pass. I didn't think I would...but for the same price Rocks XL is available with a ton more useful parts.
  12. Not at all. I suspect, I'm older than you actually. :) But, you aren't necessarily wrong. Technic pieces would add weight and stability. But, I think he is trying to keep it all UB.
  13. The Blaster Solution...
  14. I disagree. The ultra build system has a lot of potential, too much potential, to have to cram in Technic pieces every time the model gets larger than a standard figure. It's never going to be able to stand alone as a building system is new approaches and bold new builds are not attempted. I see the potential of what you are doing here and this thing is going to be MASSIVE. I love it. It does need more blue, granted (which I think might help create more illusion of depth), but beyond that...looking good so far.
  15. Fair suggestions. The drill is unchanged from Rocks, except for putting the flick missile on other end. That blue pin was always there. But, I hate the Nubby end of that drill, so I'll need to figure out a compromise. The ankles were just desire to change up the same ol' armor combo.
  16. Maybe, but I like him smaller on the shelf next to his XL brother.
  17. You mean the bone blade thing? It inspired the model. I liked the sort of weaponized dead animal bone look. I'm not sure, I have a better matching weapon.
  18. I see what your saying. Kind of like putting a bayonette on a tank. I'll have to rethink it.
  19. This is more an observation than anything else. But, thoughts and discussion are certainly welcome as always. But, if you examine the way the packaging has been used in conjunction with the lines up to this point, they have all had both aesthetics and function. The Throwbots had packaging that was also specifically designed as carrying cases with belt hooks and all. I'm not sure about Robo-Riders, but wasn't it the same idea? Then of course, Bionicle's first canisters were also story-based and functioning. The Bohrock took it to the next level by making it sort of a hive pod. And discounting boxes for Big figures etc... This continues in one form or another all the way until the early years of HF. Those canisters are even back to not only being story-functional as mission pods, but even connect to the first big vehicle. Then there is this sudden and HUGE shift to disposable (although re-usable) but non-toy-functional plastic bags. To quote Stewie, "What are we? In Mexico??" And yes, there is a cheapness to the packaging. In fact it seems to be an ever-cheapening. For instance it was one baggie with multiple smaller bags. Then Lego gave up on sorting and put it all in one bag, with a little cartoon basically telling you to sort it all your damn self. It does give the whole thing a feeling of toy sold in a Mexican train station quality. And this all seems quite the antithesis of what LEGO has always been about. "Only THE BEST is GOOD ENOUGH!" I personally feel the current crop of figures suffer for the packaging. But, what do I know?
  20. Very cool. This also confirms my suspicion that the new Bulk Head is a good head...just not a good head for Bulk.
