  1. Speaking of sturdy, 7140 has a horrible tendency to come apart very easily. The rear of the engines and the lasers on the wings popped off all the time on my 7140. A problem solved in later iterations.
  2. Fantastic model! I want to play with it!
  3. This is a definite buy for me. It has a ton of personality that most technic sets lack.
  4. Great design! Needs some color!
  5. So all the instructions are in a stack? How do you find specific booklets without pulling them all out and looking at each one-by-one? How do you account for the huge disparity in booklet sizes? I would think instructions like the single-page ones in poly bag sets would be a challenge to find.
  6. Does anyone on the forums store their sets complete, not separated out? I do this so I can build official sets easily. When going into storage, each set is taken apart and put into a ziploc bag along with its instructions. Like this, I can instantly identify a set by the images on the instructions and have all the pieces required right away. I'd really like to hear from others who keep their set pieces together. I'm concerned that my bag method warps the instructions of the larger(1000+ piece) sets.
  7. Looking at the sale items in the US store makes for a very disappointing May the Fourth this year.
  8. Only trouble I had were a few steps toward the end that were hard to decipher. Thanks for sharing your design. I enjoyed the challenge.
  9. I built your design using the instructions and made a recording.
  10. I've never been a fan of either. Many of the official sets that use them really overuse them. They seem to be put to good use when used minimally; in planes like the 42025 and 9394.
  11. I'm hoping for a supercar. It'll be the first one released since getting back into the hobby. I've been eagerly awaiting it.
  12. Very cool! And it only uses parts from those two sets?
  13. Do we know if they are going to release 1H and 2H sets simultaneously in the US in August?
  14. Does that mean USA is getting the 1H and 2H technic sets all at once in August? Very strange.
  15. I think it looks cool. Door stickers are a nice touch of personality.
  16. While the model and reviewer are excellent, it's dubious that a review is coming from the guy who hosts the instructions for purchase on his website.
  17. It's the weight of the sticker sheets alone that did it.
  18. I would be a very happy camper if that's an upcoming model.
  19. Does anyone know when the 2014 sets will be available from the Lego online shop to customers in the US?
  20. Very cool! I hope you get some video of it in action, snow or no.
  21. When I built the 9396 alternative I also used a tablet to display the PDF instructions. Is there any concern about the permanence(or lack thereof) of having instructions for models on the internet? Just something to think about.
  22. Beautiful model! I love the shape of the side paneling/doors.
  23. Hi all! I've been lurking on these forums for a few months, mainly to read the reviews of non-technic sets. Until last week, the last technic sets I had built were some Star Wars droids in 2000. On a whim last week I picked up the 9396 Helicopter set and now I'm hooked. Technic sets look much less like a naked framework than how I remembered them ten years ago, with thought put into aesthetics as well as functionality. Now that the introduction is out of the way I can get to the point of this post. A lot of B model instructions are online-only these days. What's everyone's opinion on that. Do you bother building the B models? Do you print out the instructions? Is there a best practices for printing Lego instructions that will last like the official ones do?
