Although 14 figs would be fantastic, if memory serves, there were only 5 ringwraiths at Weathertop. I believe the other 4 joined them later. Except for huge sets like the Death Star or Millennium, Lego tends not to give us every character that was present at certain scenes in licensed sets. I'd honestly expect maybe 2 ringwraiths, 2 hobbits and Aragorn in an Amon Sul set.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion
newwavejunkie replied to eiker86's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Has anyone read the bios for the Series 5 minifigs? I got a real kick out of the Gangster's bio...LEGO CITY is just chock full of police stations. Nice to see TLG poking a little fun at itself. -

I think they could make Mr. Fantastic appear stretchy by using the longer arms or legs that Woody and Jessie have in the Toy Story line. -

I also had a hard time picking between these two sets. For me it came down to which set of minifigs I liked better...with Isla de Muerta coming out the winner. I think having the undead Jack face was better than the scared version in the Fountain of Youth set. Both the Barbossa figures look awesome but I prefer the version from the Isla de Muerta set. Skeleton Barbossa is way better than the regular skeleton in the Fountain of Youth. Blackbeard and Elizabeth were a tossup for me. I really want them both but I figured I can pick up Blackbeard in the Queen Anne's Revenge (still haven't decided if I want this set or not) or on Bricklink. P.S. POTC posts belong in the Pirates forums. Just an FYI.

You might want to check out 4193 London Escape from the new Pirates of the Caribbean line. The building is not quite as detailed as Diagon Alley or MMV but I think it would fit in nicely with those two. There's a great review of this set in the Pirates forums.

For me it's: Imperial Flagship 10210 Black Seas Barracuda Eldorado Fortress Imperial Trading Post Caribbean Clipper (I know this isn't on most people's lists but it's one of the first sets I bought after my Dark Age and I love the color scheme)

Carbohydrates, I was just about to post about their toy robots and race cars. I guess this winter village is pretty advanced in the field of toy making but not so much when it comes to actual transportation technology

One of my greatest (most recent) regrets is not having bought the Tumbler set when it came out. I loved the Batman line but Indiana Jones was my main focus back in 2008. Plus I never thought the Batman line would end as abruptly as it did. Sadly, the prices on eBay and Bricklink are insane, so this may just be one of those sets I'm never able to own. Luckily I did manage to buy the Batcave and Arkham Asylum sets when they were first released. Money well spent, I'd say.

It's really hard to choose between the old line with the new line. Obviously Lego has come a long way in the amount of details they are able to put on their minifigs and this is where the new line really shines. I think the new minifigs are just spectacular compared to the old ones. Sure, the pirates themselves are a bit cartoonier and the alien skull pales in comparison to the classic jolly roger of the old line but overall they look amazing. But for me nostalgia is a major factor for the original line. I can't even describe how excited I was as a child when the old line came out. Plus they were revolutionary since they were the first to have facial hair, patches, etc. I'd probably go with the old minifigs but it's not an easy choice.

This was also mine. I was 8 years old. I remember taking the minifig to school in my pocket the next day. I just couldn't be separated from him

I'm sorry if there is another topic about this somewhere, but I can't seem to figure out how to send a PM. I've checked the Help Topics but it just doesn't seem to be an option on my profile. Could it be because I only just began actively posting? Any thoughts? Many thanks!

Pirates were probably my favorite as a kid. I remember seeing a TV version of Treasure Island with Charlton Heston when I was about 9 that really got me into pirates. Unfortunately, I never had any of the ships as a kid (the largest set I ever owned was Forbidden Island). But that never deterred me. I used to build my own ships (mostly out of castle wall panels ). Around the time I came out of my dark age, I placed a bid on one of the smaller ships on the old Yahoo Auctions website (either Cross Bone Clipper or Renegade Runner). After I won the auction, the seller told me he had actually put the wrong ship up for auction. I wound up getting a Caribbean Clipper instead and for a really great deal!! These days Pirates tend to take a backseat to Castle and the modular City sets, but I still collected quite a few of the smaller Pirate sets from the 2009 line. I'm hoping to pick up an Imperial Flagship in the next couple of months. That set is gorgeousness and gorgeosity made flesh!

Hello everyone! My name is John. I've been on these forums for a couple of years now, though this is my first post. I'm 28 years old from San Antonio, TX. I've been a huge Lego fan since about 1986 and have been collecting Lego pretty consistently throughout my life. I had a brief dark age from about 1994-1999 (Dragon Masters put me into it, Star Wars brought me out). My favorite themes are Castle, Pirates, City, and Indiana Jones, though I have plenty of sets from many different themes. Among my favorite sets of all time are Medieval Market Village, Cafe Corner, Green Grocer, Black Falcon's Fortress, Camouflaged Outpost...and well, too many more to name. I'm hoping to become more active on the boards, so greetings to everyone!
