MOC: Engineering Wagon Using New Panels from 4434
Jay Sathe replied to tbroyd's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Very cool idea. I have 4434 sitting in front of me right now, and I didn't even think of a train car using the truck bed. I wonder if TLG plans on doing something similar, becuase otherwise, these parts seem very single-purpose due to their odd size. -
What a great set, and it's awesome to see it fitting with the new, huge Maersk tain. Any plans to MOD is to 6-wide? (or MOD The Maersk train cars & containers down the 4 wide?)

Thanks a lot. It's a tough name to spell, and I get a LOT of odd looks when giving out my email address. "What at yahoo.com?" Also - is there any way to be put into Creative mode? I think it could help tremendously when building large-scale things.

I just got the Tipper Truck/Dump Truck yesterday, and I love it! It is easily one of the most realistic models LEGO has made in a while, and it's a superb set for $20 US. I only wish it was a little bigger to match the incredible value of the 3180 Tank Truck.

That's very cool, and I really like the effort spent on keeping the truck's exterior looks the same as the stock truck. Do you plan on doing more conversions?

None of them work for me... Which is odd, since I used to be a moderator with a yellow name.

I tried logging on the other day, and didn't have any permissions to do anything. I was a bit bummed. Anyway, the map looked great, and I am excited to see the finished product!

Nice review! Could you post a picture of the "brick-brick" though? I think we've all been dying to see it up close!

Review: 5885 Triceratops Trapper
Jay Sathe replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I am loving the truck in this set! It just has that perfect, rugged look to the front of it, and the huge wheels and wheel wells only add to that! I do think the back needs a little beefing-up though. If that triceratops is angry enough to attack LEGO City, then those tiny fence gates won't do anything! -
Great job. This is how the set should have been released.
-
It's not a printed tile, but 3221 has a sticker sheet with a pair of 2x2 LEGO logos that can be put on any tile you'd like! It also has one slightly larger one (maybe 3x3) and 2 large 6x6 logos.

Perhaps you could raise the track height one plate relative to the track height. That way the tram would still look normal on the street (an added plate, IMHO makes it too high off the road for a tram) and the doors could open at the station.

I can confirm that what appeared to be the full Dino 2012 line was in stock at my local LEGO store (Santa Clara) this afternoon ready for purchase.
-
They had all the Forest Police sets, the Garbage Truck, the Car and Caravan, and the Ambulance out on the shelves. Oddly, there weren't any of the Forest Fire sets that I could notice, and the other two vehicles from the Great Vehicles subtheme (The Dirt Bike Transporter and the Tipper Truck) wern't there either. They also had all the Dino sets in stock, although I didn't pick any up.

Well, I read on the 2012 sets topic that the new kits were making their way into LEGO Stores, so I ran out, grabbed this and a couple other sets, and made video reviews as fast as I could! Here is the one for the Car and Caravan (4435)! If a Moderator could embed the video, that would be great! Also - if anyone makes a picture review, I will edit the OP so that can be featured up here.

Just add a couple layers to your tin-foil hat. It worked for me!

Well, the truck for my local TRU comes on Thursday, so I'll check then, as they don't have any in stock now. Has anyone who ordered the sets online gotten them yet?
-
If it's backed up, can we have a TNT party?

I really like this model of yours, MAWEK. You have done a great job recoloring the 7938, and I wish LEGO would release something like this. I do think a colored stripe down the side would look nice, though.
-
Congrats on the eBay win, but I have some bad news for you. The Maersk train will NOT work with the 7898 RC Train base without some serious modifications. The Maersk uses Power Functions, while 7898 is just RC. You will still need the PF parts if you want to motorize the Maersk train gracefully. The 7898 is still a great looking train, and it has a lot of good parts, so it's not too bad of a loss, assuming you didn't pay too much for it. If you still want a train for the PF stuff, I would at this point go for the 7939. It has more container cars, and a really nice gantry crane for use with the Maersk.

I really like all the vehicles, and I will more than likely get them all, but for me, the Fire and Police line seem really Megablocks-y. It's probably the strange new wheel arch piece and the 1x1 round tile (or maybe the stickered grilles), but they just look cheaply done. I'll still end up getting some (or most...)

Contest: The Underwater Version
Jay Sathe replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Are digital entries allowed? The bulk of my collection is packed away at the moment. -
Pinion - is there any way to ban spawning in Bedrock? It is not great as a building material (since you can't get rid of it), and is really only useful for griefing.
