I think it's that common gray piece you get on the new slave I and more commonly on Anakin's starfighter, deep down into the wing. Correct? Good job on the MOC by the way, though it'd be nice if the color was more similar to the one on wookipedia.

Well, it's official! The venator is... the venator. Many thanks again and again to halomaster96, who's genius editing helped me see the good side of the set! Though that little bit of dark bley still ticks me off!

Blondish-Gray, and we can see that from the brickamster picture right below it, but again, you can't tell anything from that Venator picture, considering we can't see where his head stops and his head starts! Even thoguh usually we can sort of see the minifigs...a little bit clearer... EDIT: I think I can see it clearer now! Thanks to halomaster96, Palpatine isn't holding anything, that's his cape blowing behind him, and he has his head turned, not his hair backwards!

Actually Motti, I do believe you are correct. Let me show you my point: edit: picture removed. (Thanks again for the guy who cleared this up.) Without that annoying shadow, you can see that at the bottom there are some hooks un attached, and the techinc beams looks separated, meaning the latch to the "roof" we all know it will have was put together back, causing the ship to look weird and ugly. You can also again see there is the knob, meaning maybe there is a missile feature, or escape pod feature. Though Palpy still looks like an Alien and the SC's still look fake. @KimT: This isn't preliminary, if it's even real, no, but it's still at an early early stage, and I can guarantee you the minifigs will get better (or worse!) And for the people who are talking about how much you love the Senate Commandos, I don't know if you have super site, but all I see is two blue blobs. And the color scheme does look better, but the dark bley on the front could use some... improvement. All around the ship looks better, but now I need to see what the price will be! Where did we come up with 180 euros to start with?

I'd love the two CIS battleships, though as long as they were scaled the same as the Venator... and I hope the Invisible Hand, or at least any random Providence destroyer appears in the CW series so we get it, though it needs to be at least as big as the MTT.

Oh my, if Motti is right, I will be so happy! Maybe they closed it improperly so it looks like (---) by accident! And possibly darkrebellion is right. As for Copmike: You are right, but here's what the main difference is. The ISD wasn't huge at all, but it was BIG. You could probably fit about 15-20 minifigs in there if you crammed 'em all in, unlike this, which looks like the reason it has 5 figs is because it's all they can fit! Again, it's smaller than the RAG! It's supposed to be able to fit 100 RAGS! And I know that ain't possible, but they can at least sensibly size it, for $180! (By the way, sorry if I'm angering you...) @Halomaster96: Thanks so much! No we can see clearly the protruding trans-purples knob, which must mean a feature!

Let's get serious with this, think about it. Would you pay 180 euros for this? If you do, then you've really got no better ways to spend your money. I measured, and it shall be no bigger than the RAS. That's right, not even 18 inches long. I however LIKED the ISD, but this? No. The main thing is, it lacks the obvious features of a Venator. picture removed by request of TLG The Senate Commandos look exactly like someone matched the blue on MS paint of a minifig and drew the heads on, and it looks like Palpy has a yellow blob for a head. There are disgustingly obvious technic beams showing all over the place, there are huge patches of DARK BLEY all over the front. If you are a true star wars fan at all, you'd know the entire ship is light bley! There's also a mysterious gap on the edge, like a huge piece fell off, and in the center of the ship you can see black line gaps between where the top attaches and everywhere else. If they fix all these up, then I'd consider it worth buying.

Minifigs can sit with capes, and again if it is real it's just prelim. By the way, does anyone notice that everyone who thinks the Venator is good is either an OT-only fan or a mainly-other-theme fan so they wouldn't have to get it anyway?

Well... I have faith in Lego not to do something so eerily distastefully bad! I mean... IF this is it, then this thing really better have a wicked good interior, or I'm not buying.

180 Euros???? With the prices these days that makes... $130-$180!!!! I am seriously not going to pay that if this is the real deal. This is most definitely no bigger than the RAS, and I absolutely refuse to buy this unless it is under $80, if this is the real deal.

I really hope when Penguin comes on he says it ain't true. After all, didn't he say there were normal clones, and not these two? A pilot, and a Gunner? By the way, @the guy who called Clone Gunners rare: If they're in a battlepack, I'd definitely consider them common.

They aren't clones!!!!! Why does everyone say that? Anyways, I don't understand how you can say they look good, if all I can see are too blue blurry minifigures and a couple of black spots on their face.

This gives me hope, but this shape is all wrong, and it's so... ugly. @Mr.Mandalorian: We wanted interior, but we really, REALLY didn't want them to alter the shape of the ship! I might as well buy tihs set, cut is straight in half, but the front of an ISD on it and put the red stripe on! The front needs to be at least another 3 inches longer, and the color scheme has to be fixed! Just look at what a real Venator looks like!

What I don't understand is.. why would Lego make something so...bad? I was really really hoping for something just like the ISD! That was so much better... considering this barely even looks like a Venator! It's WAAAY to fat, it's definitely wrongly shaped, terribly wrong color scheme, and it's plane and bare! In fact, this looks more like a $60 set than $130!!!! Possibly the Penguin could tell us if this is the one he saw?

Holy cow! This is amazing! You even put it in to almost exact scale! And working features and an interior too! Excelent work, really truly impressive. Keep up the good work! :thumbup:

Possibly, the new box design will still be all white and blue, but it will have a little red box where they show the minifigures.... or something like that. I doubt it though, considering that these are the same Clone Wars colors everywhere, unless Lucas got tired of those colors and suddenly decided to make the biggest toy change in box history. It could just be blurry and and annoying prelimness... @theguywhodoesn'tbelieveThePenguin: He's been a member for a loooong time, and I don't think there's any reason to lie, I mean... where would that get us? Plus, there are other people saying this, and I can see these happening. Though I can't see the same number of figs as a $10 set as a $130 set! *cough VENATOR cough ASSASSIN DROIDS BP cough* If lego gives us 5 measly figs, Palpy better look good, those Senate Commandos better be wicked awesome, and those two clones better have optional imperial officer outfits like the real ones!

Sorry, he hasn't been on since J2005. (On Harry Potter's Birthday!) I don't think he's ever going to come back, and so he won't be able to answer your questions. Tiz' a sham he didn't continue making these marvelous figs.

You missed it, there was a poll on three sets, Mon Cal Cruiser, the Arrest Of Palpy, and Slave I and landing platform. @Motti: I expect to be disappointed, so the best feature that the Venator could have is to be 100% modifiable! And as for the gear feature, I think it can be done, it's been done before in all of the BIONICLE Vehicles in 2008.

BOth definitely great sets, but Peril in Peru has more detail, and the ship is more than 5 pieces! (No offens, but I like my sets to have thousands of pieces. )

And a good one too! Originally, when the first pics came out I thought that Magnaguard windshield was a downsized Slave I piece. But, it definitely a good call. @MatteoKenobi: I agree with you indeed, but if the set's so bad I could just MOC it, then I'll just buy Palpy and the Guards, and use my mini forever. I'm really hoping they'll be smart on this one, and not make themselves lose a lot of money. HERE ME TLG!!! HERE ME!

I bet we'll be getting an escape pod. If we do, I hope at least it will be the kind of escape pod that comes from the venator, with the four jets and what looks like a TIE front. It'd actually be quite interesting if they use the smaller, round TIE-like piece from the Episode III JSF (Eta-2), and mix it with there current escape pod design, like on the Twilight and the RAG. It'd be waay to small for scale, but still would look good in my opinion... unless it turned out to be a space hogging load of junk, which would wip all hopes of interior minus two pilot seats, but if there was still room for a small control room with Palpy and the Senate guards, it'd be amazing. Now, I know the phrase "bridge" is often used when regarding Venators and other big ships, like The Invisible Hand, but can someone please explain what exactly it is? I'm hoping for a good Venator, and it would really be a shame if it were smaller then the RAG. I'm hoping for it to be $130 USD, but definitely no more than that! EDIT: Actually, I would pay $140 for it, as long as it had everything in the list mentioned above, and a good size for pieces! (And hopefully, besides Palpy and the Senate Guards, some different figs. Two measly Clones? That's what I would call a rip off, unless they had Officer Outfits.

Well, Penguin helped me change my mind. Don't hit on the kid too hard, I mean, what if he worked for this money? Even though that's probably illegal.... I'm pretty sure this is all he got for the holidays, and all he wanted. It's not like he bought this, and a Nintendo, and an Xbox, and a hundred games, and a hundred other things! I think it's also cool, maybe one day he'll have a complete Clone Wars collection and go on to be a master builder!
