Ever built something just from looking at one part and thinking "How can I use this in something"? This is exactly how my 4-wide Roadster was made. While trying to get ideas for a new car to make I noticed some of these car base 10X4X2/3 plates that I never used. I tried to find some way to incorporate it, and half an hour later I have this nice classic-styled car. It also seems that my three space models were all started from me just trying to find a way to use their windshields.

Hey, just bumping this thread to post that I am working on this project again. I have uploaded the first variation of the first house and the red jeep that appears multiple times throughout the island. I have all of the vehicles done (rest will be uploaded soon) and I just have a few more buildings to go (the Information Center, Bank, Police Station, Pit Stop, and other 4 variants of the first house). I also have created a list on BrickSet of all the sets that make an appearance in the game. Link Also, if anyone could move this over to the Trains & Town forum I would appreciate it.

I usually build at my computer desk, sitting in my chair with my box of Lego at my side. My model is built on my desk (unless I need more room, then it is on my bed). While I am doing that my computer plays music (mainly video game soundtracks) and I have MLCad open as I usually plan out things before making them.

Tip - Use programs such as MLCad and Lego Digital Designer to plan out models, get part lists, and even make instructions.

ENTERED This is my entry for the TTCE (Category 1), The Brick Express. It is a small train that was designed to look like large 6X scaled Lego Bricks. The engine has room for the conductor and the passenger's cargo while each of the two passenger cars have four seats and two tables. Click here to see more images

Actually, the rechargable battery box is 4 bricks high (which is about the same as 5 STUDS) if sideways.

I just made a Pac-Man Train that I think would classify as "fun".

That is a speed regulator for 9V trains. It provides the electricity to power the tracks which in turn make the train motor move, and allows you to control the train's speed.

Like a few others here, my first electric train set was also 4561.

There is actually a way you can get the part inventory, but you need another program called LDraw. I'm sure most people here actually use that since it has a much wider part selection then Lego Digital Designer. You can get LDraw itself from step one here: http://www.ldraw.org/Article89.html After that you will see on step 2 to choose a second-generation editor. I use MLCad since it has more features and I find it easier to use. With that you can import your models from Lego Digital Designer and using the Part List feature in MLCad it will give you a nice list of what parts you need to make the model.

Would it be this dragon by any chance?

I'm Yoshi648. My first (and currently only electric train set) is 4561. I received it as a gift many years ago when it was still new. I had so much fun building it and watching it go around in circles. A few years later I randomly got a hold of 10015 that I saw on sale at Target. While it doesn't match the style of 4561 whatsoever, I still thought it was cool to have an additional train car. Every now and then I like to take it out, rebuild it and watch it run on the one oval of track I have. I don't really have much money to afford real trains, but I like to digitally create them so that I may build them in real life someday. I mainly like to build trains that appear in video games. My current project is the Excess Express from the game Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door. I like looking through BrickShelf / MOCPages / Eurobricks / Railbricks and seeing all the wonderful trains that others' come up with and I love seeing images of large town displays.

Wow, very nice locomotive you got going there. Keep up the good work Try adding rubber bands around the wheels like the Emerald Night has. This will improve the traction between the wheels and the track to give you more pulling power.

I added the Life Guard Tower, Super 2 Store, Tow Truck and Helicopter to my main post. If possible, can someone please move this over to the LEGO Trains & Town forum? I think this would be more appropriate there. Thanks

I'm sure many people here have played the PC game Lego Island. For those of you who haven't it was LEGO's first attempt at making a digital game. It was originally released in 1997. The basic idea of the game is you get to pick one of five Lego characters and you get to explore Lego Island. There are things you can do like racing, delivering pizza, driving an amulance/towtruck, etc. While it was a basic game it was still very intertaining. Being a fan of this game I have decided to start a project to re-create all the buildings and vehicles seen in the game. While I don't have the parts (or funds) to make this in reality, I make them digitally. Someday I will make them real. I started this about 3 months ago and am currently working on it as a side-project along with my main one. These is what I have completed so far. Clicking on any image will take you to it's respective MOCPage where you can see alternate views, the original from the game, and even download the completed model in LDRAW. Enjoy I also have created a list on BrickSet of all the sets that make an appearance in the game. Link Edit: 11/15/2009 - After 3 months, I am going to start working on this project again. I have all of the vehicles done (will be uploaded soon) and I just have a few more buildings to go (the Information Center, Bank, Police Station, Pit Stop, and other 4 variants of the first house). For the past few weeks I have been digitally designing a Lego train I would like to someday build. As I am at the point where I am starting work on the locomotive I wonder what is the best Power Functions motor(s) to use? I do not have any Power Function parts so I am unsure about how powerful they are. The train itself will consist of 5 cars like this. There are some bricks and other pieces on the inside in order to hold up the SNOT structure (combined, probably the equivalent of 10 2X4 bricks). The engine itself will probably be about one and a half times the weight. I was considering using one XL Power Functions motor, but I don't know if that will be able to pull the train without overloading. I don't care much about speed as I do that the train will be able to pull the cars around However, I also will need room on the inside in order for me to place the battery/IR receiver and the back of the SNOT for the windows. If you have any other suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -For those of you wondering about this train, it is the Excess Express which was seen in the GameCube game Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door. If you are interested in seeing more about this train (along with the crazy engine it has) you see it on MOCPages: Link

Can you be more specific about the error? What exactly does the error say? Was it an actual error from Brickshelf or is it a generic error that your web browser uses?
-
There is a Brickshelf gallery of them here: Link

I use Brickshelf and MOCPages. Brickshelf because that tends to get more traffic and MOCPages because you can add more descriptions and others can leave commments.

I get this ... Could have been worse
