Which Is Your Favorite 2010 Licensed Theme?
Blackheart Brit replied to curtisrlee's topic in LEGO Licensed
I am surprised it took so long for someone to mention Star Wars. Toy Story has the Army Men but in my eyes that is it. PoP has a lot of new animals and stuff. Harry Potter should be solid too. -
This is great, totally cool. Love all the detail packed in a relatively small space. I envy your skills.

What do you look for most in a lego set?
Blackheart Brit replied to sok117's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think I look at Theme or minifigs. Beyond my primary theme and buying all of it I can, i look for certain minifigures. Examples--five year or so ago I was buying Star Wars mostly. The last few years I have been really into Pirates. Recently I have picked up a few Space Police sets for the Aliens to fill Jabba's Sailbarge. I like the Space Police sets a lot but if I did not have an empty Barge I would not have bought those sets. I have not bought a set yet strictly for parts. Also, I am 33 and have money but with a family I try to keep LEGO spending down as much as possible. -
The colors and ship look great, it has a bit blocky shape to it. If you could make the back slanted it might look a little better. Nice job.
-
I love those black and green hulls. I wish I had a mid section black hull to expand mine. I like the whole color scheme as well, really good ship.
-
The colors look great, almost the BSB with no yellow. I like it. Your sails sound good too, thin red stripe with crossed cannons. Pirates beware.

The railing looks nice but it seems to high, that is what I struggle with in a railing. Make it look nice but not be too high. I also do not like all the arches the IF comes with for the rails. I like the white windows better than your other tries, but did you try white winds with gold fences up top on the rear of the ship. That might look good with all the other gold accents. Nice stuff, gives me food for thought on my ship.

I like your sails a lot. The colors look good. I totally missed all the Queen stuff, not really a fan but it is kind of fun you did it anyway. Are you working on Run bow/stern peices or are you just leaving them brown?

What are your Top 3 Favorite Elements from the 2009 Pirate Wave
Blackheart Brit replied to Dr. Steve's topic in LEGO Pirates
I would be interested in that number too. I am not a big army builder and I ended up with about 25, so I bet a LOT. Some of us here have at least hundreds. -
Gray blends into shadows the best and it is the only one I own, when you own the best one do you need to buy more. He torments my Pirates a lot.

General Grievous Chase is pretty bad and General Grievous is worst Minifig like previously stated by many in this thread.

Pirate/ Colonial Wig

It is that green putty from the Table top warfare store. It does not have to be baked, it dries in 24 hours. It certainly could use a sanding. -
The Ghost Ship in the Castle line has black mid-hulls, but the end was the Viking end, so they would only have to change to black bow/stern pieces. As for what I want to see all the old colors were terrific. The red ones look great, but the CC had black with green and they look so cool together. Also the white and blue looked great too. All the brown shades are obvious because these ships were all made of wood. In the end, whatever they do I would be thrilled. If the do make POTC sets I imagine a Black Pearl would have Black hulls, any British ship would be some shade of brown and The Flying Dutchman would be a gray shade. All these would be so cool, who knows we will see.

Some soldiers washed up ashore a deserted Island and did not last too long. So sad, there were once redcoats.

Better pictures of buildings in my harbour
Blackheart Brit replied to Blackheart Brit's topic in Pirate MOCs
I was having issues getting these to show up but it is resolved now, comment away! -
Not only is this an Amazing build you have taken excellent pictures and written detailed descriptions of each shot to let us know exactly what is going on in each. Truly amazing. I would love to see a whole train room done by you. No, I am not paying for it I am sure it would be a zillion dollars and incredible. Love the science fiction, pulp fiction, fantasy and reality all thrown into one. Will you be doing more with the troll on the other side of the bridge? He seemed a little sad all by hisself.
