Does anyone know what is different between the 1999 X-Wing and Y-Wing/Tie fighter and the 2002 Re-release versions of the same sets; because the re-release sell for much more on Bricklink? I imagine the only difference is the number on the directions.

Did they even check to see if she floats before burning her?

Kingdoms Battle Packs Discussion
Blackheart Brit replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
My Dragon pack was not cheap Chinese but ditto on the silver weapons, WHY WHY did you give us silver pearl with the Dragons? -
The catapult is actually quite nice but small. The figures are good but it is not too good fro army building. The Dragon seems to me to be a Warrior boss, if you will, so not one I want a million of, while as the Lion is a great torso his helmet is not one I need anymore of. I still have lots of unclaimed grilled helmets from the Crownie impulse set. This set would have been a must have in bulk if it had been a dragon and lion knight both in the quartered shirt with normal helmets. It is definitely a set to get but I do not feel the need to buy multiples.

I got it brand new when I was a kid and palyed with it maybe a year or so and packed it away until today. Yeah, any component or all components could be bad. Anyone have issues with any particular part, the black wire piece looks a little sketchy. None of the parts have any unusual or more than usual wear on them.

Anyone experience any motor issues with their monorails. I just rebuilt mine for first time in forever and I have tried a few different batteries and it just won't start up. I suppose it could be battery box or little cable and not the motor itself. Anyone have and ideas for me or any experience to pass on. Please help, my 4 year old daughter can not wait any longer!!!! (she is rabid for some monorail)

pirate parts in build a mini figure at the Lego store.
Blackheart Brit replied to tuber's topic in LEGO Pirates
You do not have to get accessories, it is just five pieces per "minifig". I got three soldiers and instead of a weapon, there were no piratey ones, I just got extra shakos. Three soldiers and three extra shakos, not too bad, but they are on the more than i want to spend side of things. -
That looks really cool, a bunch of that guy would be a cool army .

I love the ghosts non-legs but the kitchen needs a little more decor.

How did you get your wife hooked on the Lego hobby?
Blackheart Brit replied to Legoist's topic in General LEGO Discussion
When i was dating my wife I had many 12 inch GI Joes on bookshelves on display. I had many small Joes too. I had a few older Star Wars LEGO sets and so she knew what she was getting. As we dated and got married GI Joes started to die down and I was buying the Comics more than the figures and then it was replaced by Stikfas for about a year. At this point we had moved to AZ from Californis and all my Joes were packed away. After a year we moved into our house and I broke out the old LEGO boxes and it has been five years of building since. My wife likes it more than GI Joe or other stuff because my daughter "plays" LEGO with me. It is very gender neutral. She plays with the Princesses and female minifigs and I get to play with the males. She loves the Castles and Pirate Ships and my wife has no quelms about this hobby. -
How open are you about your Lego passion?
Blackheart Brit replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think people generally understand hobbies or they don't. I have a friend who can never understand how I spend money on anything hobby related. he does not understand it at all. People who understand hobbies typically don't seem to think it odd I (we) like LEGOs. Whether it is coins, stamps, comics, LEGO, some other toy, in the end it is quite similar. I used to really collect GI Joes and I recently sold off all of my collection and what is great about LEGO is that once you hunt down what you want and buy it you can build it, break it down and build other stuff and in 5 years build it again. GI Joes I generally just put on a shelf for display. Stamps go in a book, etc. I am 33 and have "grown-up" friends. I had some Star Wars sets on my desk at work and co-workers responded positively to them. " I used to love LEGO" "I love Star Wars too" " Did you ever watch Star TRek?" that sort of thing. Most people know I do LEGOs, no one seem to care except that one friend who just does not understand. Even in college I wrote several business papers on LEGO. -
Old small "end-of-the-Harbor" Lighthouse
Blackheart Brit replied to Andre1983nl's topic in Pirate MOCs
Nice, but go at least one story more. -
I got the Monster 4 game and promptly made some new Pirates. "I'm the devilishly good looking Captain." "Silver Bullets, meh, I prefer GOLD." Brickbeard's beard actually got a trim for this costume.

I like this ship a lot. It has nice lines and the rear cabin area is great. Love your window solution, look terrific. I think if you had given the sails a little shape like that front sail they might have looked better than totally flat, or done rolled up sails with bricks or plates. nicely done.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Blackheart Brit replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
So, last night I popped into my local LEGO store and had an interesting conversation with the worker there and he had an unusual insight into these little minifigs. He said and was pretty confident that these are not only randomly packed but each pack will also be random. Meaning every bag will have a head, torso, legs and accessory but which will be totally random. So to get that Spartan you might have to buy 50 packs to get the pieces you need. At first I was shocked and appallled, after all I just want buy the ones I want and be done, but now I will have to buy a lot to get the few pieces I need. After getting over it, he and I got to thinking how it makes Kids(you know their real market) and AFOLs talk to other people and trade around pieces, you know be a little social or spend a bazillion bucks. So I can't just feel the package and get the one complete figure, we will probably end up with a forum set up just fro trading segments around. He could be wrong, but he was pretty sure he was right. I did not read all 62 pages of this topic so if this has been stated already, oh well. -
I love the size of the buildings. Not too big. I also like that they are enclosed(mostly). The roofs are excellent. The exposed brick is awesome, I will be using that technique. Very well done once again.

I like your dock/pier very much, simple and effective.

You did an excellent job on her. Looks like an official Minifig.
