  1. Very nice indeed; don't worry about it not being able to turn corners, the newest Lego trucks don't seem to be able to manage that miraculous feat either. Laurie
  2. I still can't decide about this set. It's a pretty unique lego set and, like the bulldozer, is a welcome change from diggers and dump trucks. My only problem is it seems slightly too big. Like the chassis has been built to the scale of the front roller, rather than the scale of a minifig. An ingenious idea by a Lego designer to use that piece, but it just doesn't quite fit sizewise in my opinion. I'll most likely still buy it though Laurie
  3. Love that idea Majek. It looks great too, especially the studs down look. Reminds me of Cliffhanger Laurie
  4. Great comic, KDog. I discovered it in late December after I joined EB and immediately read the whole thing. I've been following it pretty closely ever since. I really enjoy all the different characters, though I still ahve to refer to the Advent Calendar comics sometimes to remind myself. Thanks and keep up the great work Laurie
  5. Dagnabbit, I was gonna make a rocking chair! Nice job though. I've got a couple more ideas, don't you worry :D Laurie
  6. Of course it would be smaller than the pirates boat! Otherwise the Imperials will start winning and TLC will have to change the theme's name to LEGO Imperials and that would be a marketing nightmare Laurie
  7. I often find small Playmobil pieces and bits of fluff. There are some old instruction leaflets in some of my lego boxes too. Laurie
  8. I'm sure glad you dug this review up, it's one of my favourite lego helicopters. It's a much more realistic size compared to most lego helis which really makes all the difference in my opinion. One minor geeky detail that I love is that the set number is 7738. Rotate it 180 degrees and BELL, one of the world's leading helicopter manufacturers! The only problem is that Bell has never made a helicopter anything like 7738, it much more resembles a Sikorsky or even a Russian Mil helicopter Laurie
  9. I love the croissant, I mean figurehead Laurie
  10. His name is Stephen Hubbard. I know that because I read the nametag in his underwear. Don't ask me how I got them... Laurie
  11. Very nice MOC, adn it rolls nicely. Is it rolling in from the right in that bottom pic or rolling backwards to the right? It could be one of that defective batch of cowardly droidekas! Laurie
  12. Well I like the red line on the sea wall I look forward to seeing your boat building facility as this looks fantastic so far. Laurie
  13. Well before I joined the online Lego community I was more active in flight simulator online and so for that I used the name of my favourite helicopter, the Sikorsky S-61 Sea King and stuck the 61 at the end of Sea King and voila! I've been using it for years now so I didn't want to change it. I plan to build a MOC of my fave heli to at least make my name relevant to lego :D When I first joined the lego club online, well before any other forum, I used the name mr_kenobi, but I'm not such a big Star Wars fan any more so I chose not to use it again. Laurie
  14. I'd love to see some small single engined aircraft like Cessnas and Pipers, maybe in a bush or outback setting or a flying school setting perhaps. I agree that the new aircraft are far too large, especially next to older Lego aircraft. They're closer to scale with lego minifigs, but don't fit with other aircraft or airports. Laurie
  15. I love that Sumo suit! When I first saw it I wasn't sure what it was; not being a fan of the office it didn't occur to me there would be anyone in a sumo suit in the sea But I thought to myself that it would work well as a sumo suit, then I got to the caption and that's exactly what it was! An excellent use of that piece Laurie
  16. Very nice, and lovely and yellow! I'd stick a 1x2 yellow tile above each of the headlights personally. Just to cover up those studs and give the front a sligtly better shape. Laurie
  17. Looks fantastic, I love the shape of it. It's much easier to see it as a spacecraft with the concept art as well. If the whole ship's up to the same standards then this willl undoubtedly be a truely outstanding MOC. Laurie
  18. It'd be good to get this is an Indiana Jones Set, perhaps with a small pier too. Laurie
  19. SeaKing61

    Just eat it!

Excellent vig; I love ham too. I love your sink, especially the fact it has a plug hole. Laurie
  20. I noticed on a flight simulator website today (aviation is my other hobby) that someone has uploaded a file that will allow you to land the airbus in flight sim on water, allowing you to reenact the flight exactly. Would you say this is going too far, or just hero worship for the fantastic skills of the captain? Laurie
  21. Looking at bricklink it seems they were only used in 1978. They don't seem too uncommon though, there are a few for sale on bricklink. Laurie
  22. That's the chap, thanks for your help. I've only got the torso and head unfortunately. He seems to have discarded the helmet and air pack and swapped his white trousers for some black ones at some point in the last 30 years! Thanks for the help KimT, Laurie
  23. In all my years of buying lego I've only received one faulty brick, a melted 6x2 brown brick in the original Star Wars Ep.1 MTT. I took the set back to the toy store and they replaced it for me. I didn't even know about the lego piece replacement service until recently. I've bought a hell of a lot of lego in the 14 years since my first set; i must have been pretty lucky to only get one defective piece. I have noticed some colour discrepancies recently though, especially in orders from pick a brick and Lego Factory. Laurie
  24. I recently received a box a lego bricks that used to belong to one of my mother's friends. It's mainly technic but there's also a classic space minifig. What's got me curious is that it appears to be a plain white torso with a sticker applied with the classic space logo on it. I was wondering if anyone knew if this sticker came with the torso as part of a set or if it's from an ideas book or perhaps home made. Thanks very much. I'll try to upload a picture sometime soon. Cheers, Laurie
  25. That's absolutely fantastic; so many features! I absolutely love aircraft/airport MOCs and this is certainly a new favourite. Laurie
