My main problem with them is with age they go horrible and can peel at the edges on the bricks, even without much use. whereas printed parts from the same era remain in much better condition. They also look much more professional and are a premium product. I can understand some stickers, but we seem to get far too many currently. Maybe they should just get them printed in china if its too costly or they dont have enough machines in Europe.

It says on this link, ldd/pick a brick is same as buying boxed items http://shop.lego.com/TermsPolicies/shipping_and_handling.asp

I hate red and yellow as they are very common but of less use in mocs. My favourite colours are dark red, dark green, tan and the greys

It was meant in a nice way and a do what you feels right type post... 10 years is what it took me and a few others from what i've read here. As long as its somones own decision and not peer pressure then whatever will be, will be.

see you in 10 years

i've spent a small fortune on 'really useful boxes' i think they are a UK company, but they have hundreds of different sizes and they stack nicely and dont have the annoying dips and curves at the sides you usually get in storage boxes.
-
quite sad that the amount we spend isnt kept in its value, suppose its the same as buying a car.
-
They should at least make 16x32 Blue, Tan, White, Green, Grey available from the pick a brick website if they dont want to return to being generous with them in sets.
-
does anyone know if the UK pick a brick varies between stores? been to MK and it had changed since i last went 3 months ago but wondering if its worth going to bluewater or brighton. Has anyone been to all 3, which has the best selection (ignoring the theme park) chris

but who is this 'source' sounds fishy to me

i still need to buy most of them! i plan to after my holiday and birthday

a great theme! a girly theme without being untrue to lego or treating them like stereotypes (apart from the use of pink!), and fitted well with town. bring it back

cat hairs, even though the boxes have lids.

this was my favourite set i remember getting it one christmas, i still have it and it works but its not set up currently. The strange thing is the battery box is black and im not sure where my red one is but i know i have it somewhere! I also remember not being allowed to buy the track extention pack :(

Any way of knowing which sets will be retired ?

S@H isnt always a way to tell, the small indy set with the tent is not on S@H anymore but argos in uk have kept it in their latest catalogue and have had restocks as it was out of stock everywhere around christmas but now back. -
'sold out' sets often seem to come back 'no longer available' is often seen on stock that was in the sale that is discontinued.
-
yes its the same around here. as for the low £ price, its actually not though for people that live here. so if they put prices up by 30% they will watch their marketshare and stores stock levels fall greatly. while the $ was weak they didnt increase the price by the same huge %, if they had it would now be one of most expensive markets now $ is strong again.

i feel guilty, i bought this 1 month ago and it is still in its bags

The different prices on LEGO in the US vs. Europe
mrchris replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
im with you on this, i think the prices should be tiered. buy 10-50 get 10% off that item 50-100 get 25% off 100+ 50% off they could exclude some items from the larger tier if they needed too (printed items, motors etc). I'd jump at buying loads of pieces if it didnt work out so expensive -
dark red roof and i would buy a few of these sets. black would look better too but they probably think it would look like town house then, but it would be more realistic.

i expect it is the new line of cheap electronics they will be selling soon.

LDD picture quality

yes i have to rotate the area to see some things. the lighting is not great, the areas where the light source is on most becomes too saturated so you lose the studs and brick lines. hopefully they fix it or offer abilty to have faint outlines for design stages which can turn on or off. -
i had an extra 1x2 brick in an indy set which seemed unusual (bley too so was nice) love the cheese bits and tiles as extras, especially in colours not available on pick a brick. I think they should put even more in, as well as make them available on pick a brick

Is there line to be drawn when making MOCs?
mrchris replied to Derek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
i dont think it being primarily a toy makes any difference, i bet more kids use paints for painting pictures than adult artists who have infinate freedom. for me i like this kind of humour, as long as no one gets hurt by it (and i dont mean the easily offended kicking up a stink) i dont see the problem. -
1788 is about the only box i kept from the old days the rest i cut the front off of and just kept that. I remember the treasure chest shape did help me pick it. I still like the old style boxes that had a flap and opened to display all the rare bricks, but its not as important these days because of all the info on the net. I also prefered the old thinner boxes with the tray inside, as it gives a perfect place to tip the bricks out into and makes the boxes to keep take up less room.
