  1. So you say the B-wing will be 50% off on Lego's online store ? But only in US ? Am I getting this right ?
  2. I recently finished building the Lego 9396 Helicopter. Here is a small gif of it :
  3. A gif is an image format. It is particularly well suited for the web as it was developed to be very light and it is now compatible with all the main softwares/systems. "Gif" explanation on wikipedia. A .gif can also be animated, which means that you can display small animations (generally loops) taking only 1 Mo in any webpage/email/chat/file :) It is generally a lot of fun, gifs became part of the internet culture. What about Lego culture ? I propose you to post all the gifs you created or found on the web (in this case give the source) around the Lego world. I would like to start with two examples I did last week while shooting timelapse videos of constructions. The first one is a "cinemagraph" as we call it. It means that it looks like a picture but with just a few key things moving. You can see another example I did (not lego related). Lego 4x4 8081. And here a .gif enabling a sort of 3D effect :) Lego Pickup Tow Truck 9395. However be careful, gifs get pretty heavy pretty fast (mines are 1-1.5 Mo)
  4. I have never really asked myself why I like them. I have always known that they are the greatest toy/creative invention to me. They are well made, with care and are right priced. The possibilities are infinite and they do not really lose value (economic, playability and emotional) over time.
  5. I love this group : Deep Forest. Very natural.
  6. Thank you guys :)
  7. For now space is the deciding criteria. When I run out of space for a new set, I dismantle the set I like less.
  8. Amazon China has a sale and I bought a Tie Fighter with other sets :)
  9. A quick look at the future of StarWars movies :P A really funny video/parody of StarWars vs. Disney. Star Wars VII - Return of the Empire :
  10. This thread blows my mind. I love it :)
  11. Thank you guys ! Dear Andy, coming from all this closing (and closed) technology world (DRM, over-controlling companies etc.), seeing a bunch of cool people be open minded and go together for the pure sake of creating awesome things warms my heart. I just uploaded my first "contribution" to the Lego community. A video of me building the 8110 Unimog.
  12. I shot a video of the construction of my Unimog a few days ago. I thought I would share it with you here. It is available in 1080p :) The purpose of this video was to have a souvenir and to share this with friends and family. I'm pretty new to the all thing but I hope you like it :)
  13. Hi everyone ! It is a real pleasure for me to join Eurobricks. I am a young industrial designer, getting my Master's Degree this year. I come from France (Paris region) and I currently live in Shanghai, China where I am finishing my last two years of studies. Younger, I was playing with Duplos and then Legos all the time. I created stickers that I glued on parts to create huge command centers and space vehicles with infinite amount of wheels. That was 10-15 years ago. I also had the ancestor of mindstorms (9709 I think, great to remember it) :) Then I lost contact with my legos because I moved away from home for studies and many things happened. And very recently, while in Shanghai, I took a look at which sets I could find on taobao (sort of Chinese ebay) and for what price. Then I looked at all the new stuff in the Lego world and fell back in love with it. I bought two Technic sets (8110 and 8081) and I am planning to buy a few more in the coming months. I've spent the entire last weeks reading on blogs and forums about legos, Mods, reviews, etc. What I like most in Lego is how "open-source" it feels and how the community makes everything better. Apart from that I developed many passions that feed me in my everyday work with inspirations. I love photography (take a look at my blog about my trip in China), music (was DJing and now composing from time to time) and technologies (real geek). I was a lot into sports (mountain biking, archery...) but don't have the occasion anymore since I'm in Shanghai. You can take a look at my personal website (coded by myself) for more about my work. I can't wait to read more of this amazing community. Thank you all :)
