  1. These ideas about couriers are great and I would have no problem allowing some one to do it! But, it will be up to the winner if they want to go this route or having it shipping to them. Jamie
  2. I spoke Lego customer service and Lego S@H. I can order it here in the US and have it shipped anywhere Lego has the S@H service, but, I have to pay what they pay in that country. So, instead of it costing me $500 here in the states. It would cost me $683.32 to order it here in the states and have sent to you, Mutley, via Lego S@H UK. I could do this also, if you want give me another $183.32 to cover the rest of the cost of the falcon. See what I mean? The contest is in US dollars cause that is where I am from and where I will be ordering it from. You pick up the shipping charge, which is around $60 US for it. I mark it as a gift or mark it as having a value of $50. So, I miss a zero. No biggie. So, the contest/ raffle is for a Falcon, no money. Other have said they would take the money. The winner cover shipping to them! And Customs Fees, if any! I can mark it as gift or lower the value, or both to help with customs fees. Hell, I can dump the bag of pieces, in another box and ship it that way! This way they open it, they think it is a box of lego. No set number, no nothing for them to look up the set number and guess the value. I can put a birthday card in it to!! Jamie
  3. No, shipping is free till March 31, no shipping charge here. You only shipping charge would be to have it shipped to you from me! Right, no money is changing hands yet! This is just to see if we can reach the desired number of people. If we do, then we would start another thread, something like: 10179 Raffle, Game On! No problem Cap, I think I am going to order it myself regardless, and have winner pay for shipping, some of which will be covered by whatever is left over after paying all fees involved. When you think about it, If I send the winner $500 US dollars you still have to come up with the rest and pay shipping on top of that! So, I will order it and have it shipped to me here in the US. The winner will have to cover shipping to them in there country, which will still be cheaper then shelling out the rest for the Falcon and shipping.to you from Lego! I will modify my first post to reflect some of things that we have discussed since! Jamie
  4. Do you really need to ask? :-) Jamie
  5. Right, but, I want to make sure there is enough to cover paypal fees and CC fees . If we wind up with a few bucks felt over, it will be applied to shipping overseas. I'm not trying to make a buck here, just want to be sure I have enough to pay for it with out using some of my own money! I already paid for one! Jamie A date for the drawing hasn't been decided on yet. We can worry about that when we reach 55 people. One thing at a time! Let's get the number we need first! Jamie
  6. Well, it is a raffle, I put all the names in a hat and my wife draws the winning name! Want me video tape it?? Sorry, I don't have a webcam. I was hoping Yoda would help me out a little bit with this, but, I can't have him help, if he is buys a ticket. Maybe another Mod or Admin who is more wellknown then me can pick the winner. The list of people is posted on the first page of this thread. This way I could buy a ticket! X-D All he has to do is print the list and pick a name. Well, I just called S@H and I can order order stuff from there website and have it shipped to another country as long as they ship to that country. I can not order over the phone and have to shipped overseas. But, now, there is another problem. I have to pay what they pay. Just found this out! Sorry! Ex. 1) If I order the Falcon and the winner is from Australia. I can order it on their website and enter there shipping address and have my CC billed, but, I have to pay $769 US for it. Ex. 2) If I order it and winners country has the Euro, it will cost me $723 US for it. I guess, the winner pays for shipping themsleves. You get a Falcon for $10 and pay for shipping?? This could be costly for overseas winners. But, still cheaper then paying full retail for it and still paying for shipping from Lego to you in your country! Thanks for questions and keep them coming, Jamie
  7. I would perfer paypal! It is faster and easier! And safer for you! We don't need to wait for domestic mail or in your case international mail. Plus, I don't have to deal with international money orders and/ or trying to cash international checks at my bank. Then there are fees associated with cashing overseas checks. It gets to be a headache! Please my bank places a 10 day hold on checks from out of state. So, yes, you need a paypal account to buy a ticket! Good question, thanks, Jamie
  8. Well, with Yoda's permission, I am starting a thread to see if there is enough interest in a "raffle" for the new Millennium Falcon coming out in Oct. Set number 10179. If you live in a cave click here: *CLICK* Post if you are interested in participating!!! Post roughly how many tickets you would like to buy! *Tickets" are $10 US!!* If we have enough interest, we will post an official thread for the raffle. This is just to get a rough idea!! We need 55 tickets sold. $500 for the Falcon, $50 to me to cover paypal fees and fees on my credit card, anything felt over from this will be applied to shipping it to the winner. Maybe $40 or $10, I don't know what this is going to cost me in fees. If you live in the US it will be ordered by me on my CC and shipped to you. If you live overseas, I will order the Falcon and have it shipped to me, you will have to cover shipping to you. Currency coversions rates and Lego charging different prices in other countries prevent us from doing it any other way. Plus, I would rather send the winner the set, not money! Good point Cap! I really didn't want to send money either! Shipping to most EU countries would be around $60 US. I used usps.gov to estimate shipping at 15 lbs. I read somewhere it weights around that! The UK was $65. These were for airmail, so you should still have it by mid-Oct. But, keep in mind you may only have to spend $40 or $45 US to have it shipped to you cause of the leftovers. If the winner is overseas. You will need to cover any customs fees, but, I will mark it as a gift! This way, it cuts down the costs as much as possible! I can include a birthday card as well! In case the customs guys question it! :-) No seriously, I will! Dunamis and I will pick the winner. One of us will print out a list of names. Your name will appear on the list XX amount of times, it will depend on how many tickets/ spots you buy! Buy 4 tickets, get 4 random spots on the list. Get it?? Good!! It will be completely random. EI, just cause Xwingyoda bought the first spot, doesn't mean he will be number one on the list! He maybe 1 or 5 or 39 or 55. The other one will pick a number and that, Ladies and Gentleman will be your winner! One last thing, Give Mutley777 a big pat on the back for the idea. And buy dunamis a cookie for helping me out with the drawing! Thanks, Jamie So who is in ? * Xwingyoda ............ 1 * Copmike .............. 3 * ApophisV ............. 1 * Kikuichimonji ........ 1 * Sam89 ................ 1 * Vader ................ 1 * Ras74 ................ 2 * PaulC ................ 1 * Mutley777............. 2 * Hobbes ............... 2 * ImperialJohn ......... 1 * Matthieu85 ........... 1 * captaintau ........... 3 * DGFD ................. 2 * RoscoPC .............. 2 * jugaloodoo ........... 3 * Jeff_in_NC ........... 2 * Paolo ................ 2 * catch-22 ............. 1 * jipay ................ 1 * Imperial Dawg ........ 2 * mr.fledermaus ........ 3 * kimt ................. 2 * Joe Cool ............. 1 * rexcal ............... 2 * JSN .................. 1 * blueandwhite ......... 1 * Jip
  9. Another thing. If we hurry, we can get free shipping and the winner will get a numbered one, if that matters to them??? Ham, it what's for dinner! Jamie
  10. I would be game for this! To host it too, if need be! Say 50 people send me $10 via paypal. When I have $500 in my paypal account, I will ask my wife to pick a number and that person is the winner! Enter as many times as you like. Maybe 55 people to cover paypal expenses and such. Any other takers?? Sam, Vader, Yoda, what do you guys think? PM me if you want. Jamie
  11. So build one! Shouldn't be too hard! I personally am not to worried about the gun, or lack thereof. Or the lack of an interior. The model is stunning and I have a couple of friends who want me to call them when I get so they can help build it. The night all the Epiosde II and III sets came out, there was myself and those 2 sitting here drinking beer and playing with Lego till like 6 in the morning. Good times!! Still not sure about calling them or not, I may decide to have all the fun with this myself. With beer of course!! Jamie
  12. Now avalible in the US, just ordered mine!! Now for the loooooooong wait! At least we have the MTT, Sith Infiltrator, Jedi Starfighter with Hyoperdrive Ring, and Naboo Fighter to tide us over!! Go order, Jamie
  13. Keep hoping! I think it will probably be thee most expensive Lego set ever released to the public! I do think it will be more then the ISD and DSII! Jamie
  14. Thanks for the credit on the front page, but, as I said, Davee gets all that on FBTB and he found out about from someone a Lugnet and posted it there. All I did was come here and see what people were saying here. There wasn't a topic about it yet and started one. Also, the other pics were not avalible when I posted, thanks for editing my post include them. Saves the trouble of scrolling what is sure to be a popular topic. Sam, anyone!!! Is any info avalible about it? Piece count, price, dates. I have read rumors of 3000 to 5000 pieces. Price is the same $300 to $500. As for ordering dates, soon to late summer or fall. We have read all these, I'm sure, but, do any of the Admin. or Mods. know anything concrete? Thank god my wife and just got our income tax!! I really need to make Valentines day special for her this year so I can buy it and not sleep on the couch for week. *sweet* Thanks, Jamie
  15. Davee posted this on FBTB, I can not take any credit for finding it! Sam, please let me this is real!!!
  16. I would also trade these sets for some Batman sets. Email or PM to work out a trade! Jamie
  17. Hey guys, I am selling some more stuff. Up for sale this time is 3 Technic sets. 8448 and 8466 are $150 each, which is comparable to Bricklink, complete with instructions and no boxes. 8653 is $90, complete with instructions and no box. Im on the straight shooters list and will combine shipping. Email me at chevy_zr2_4x4@yahoo.com or PM me to talk details and shipping. I would like to sale as a lot, but, it is alot of money. But, if someone wants all 3. I will cut a deal! Also, prices are not set in stone, make an offer if you think they are too high. I would also perfer Paypal for payment. Thanks, Jamie
  18. I would like to see more sets like the UCE Batmobile. A Batwing would be awesome. More Batmobiles, maybe a 2 seater, next. Different versions, different eras, I'll take them all. I always liked the Batskiboat, too, it looks so cool!! A Batman bust might be cool too, if done right! But, any sets they release, I will probably grab. Just my opinions, Jamie
  19. I am dying to see what 2007 has to offer for Batman. Hopefully we will see pics soon. Anyone else hope they release another UCE Batmobile. One a year. Or an UCE Batwing. Drool!!!! Jamie
  20. I already play with Duplo with my 2, almost 3 years old. He loves Spider-Man. He has the Jack Stone sets and the 2 Spidey Megablock sets. Don't flame me for the megblocks!! We couldn't leave the store without them. He saw them and that was it! Jamie
  21. Congrats on that great news *sweet* Thanks, Yoda! It was discussed in that thread ;-) *yoda* Thanks, Yoda! Jamie
  22. I just bought this off Ebay 2 week ago. My wife and I found out she is pregnant with twins, so this has to go. I would like to get $75 for it, as that is what I paid for it here in the states. So, if someone here in the states wants it $75 to you shipped. Someone overseas wants it, $70 plus shipping to you. Sound fair? So, if anyone wants it shoot me in email or PM me. I am on the straightshooters list, I have dealt Gylman in the past and a few other, I can't remember, sorry! LMK, Jamie
