Going by the changes in Jala's dialogue box over the game, he meets Takua just after Ga-Koro is attacked but before Takua goes there, and a second time when he congratulates Takua on helping there. What I quoted from is actually their third conversation, in the buildup to the Ko-Koro trip. The point being Jala maintains his formal tone even after he becomes familiar with Takua. True in itself, but the problem is that Jaller in the movie never speaks as he does in the MNOLG. He uses his informal/modern tone even in serious situations. A good example is when Takua leaves him in the tunnel and he says "then you ditch me". I'm fairly sure that using the third word as a verb is a fairly recent trend. The more formal Jala seen in the MNOLG would probably have said 'abandon' instead. Away with the ponies.

Can you picture "It warms me that you have chosen to accept our trust. Vakama will be pleased" and "It is imperative that the villages build fortification and prepare for a final defense" being spoken with the voice of "Kohlii head! You could've been lava bones!"? I think it's fair to say many of the MNOLG's characters speak in a more formal, archaic tone than most characters in the movies and books. Could you not imagine his dialogue coming from a man of Gondor or an elf in The Lord of the Rings? In the MNOLG you're playing as a meandering outcast, whereas Jala is a hardworking figure of authority, so it makes some sense that he isn't particularly relatable.

I wonder if the new line will have another MNOLG sort of game.

Would he not want to kick stones anymore? This was already done in the early years, MNOLG most clearly. The military culture of Ta-Koro, for instance, echoes that of ancient Sparta. I think Po-Koro is meant to evoke the rural life in either the American Old West or the Australian Outback.

If the leaking was illegal and that person violated an agreement or contract, then it hardly needs to be said that it was also immoral. Yes, it's benefited the Bionicle community, but that's not a justification in itself (especially given that we would've seen the sets anyway when the official reveal occurred).

The image isn't 'in the front lawn' (ie, in plain sight) because it isn't visible or linked to on the main site. I haven't accused anyone of doing anything illegal. That's pretty much what I was getting at initially. Just because the image is technically reachable doesn't mean Lego want it to be seen. But the image is out now anyhow, so there's little point in continuing this further.

My main issue is that you entered Lego's server and made publically available something they haven't decided to do that with themselves (yet at least). The issue about BZPower is simply that posting it there seems contrary to their leaks policy. But if you and the other staff decide it's not, that's up to you.

Those haven't happened yet. I can agree about that. I'd be interested to know what the leaker's motive was in doing so. I appreciate you want to share new information with others, but also think you should at least only post it to places where leaked content discussion is allowed, rather than posting it on the front page of a site that until now has been prohibitive. Still, I guess things are where they are now.

If that was the case, why not put it on the site? Heck, why not just confirm the line outright? Secure or not, Lego's servers are still their property, and to go sifting through them and making their contents publically viewable without permission is in my view an act of intrusion.

It seems like the online equivalent of entering someone's home, getting hold of their secret information, then sending it to a newspaper and having it in the headlines, exposed for all to see. Even if it's not illegal, it's surely rather immoral.

Given BZPower's strict anti-leak policy, I find it out of character that they'd delve into Lego's files and post one of their images on the frontpage for all to see.

But what game they might release is not what's being discussed by Toa of Gallifrey and Jakura Nuva. No, most of it's been discussion of probably authentic images of official sets.

It isn't, because this topic is for discussion of what Lego may/will officially release next year, not a game that only exists in your imaginations.

Though I agree Bionicle did have too many names and strange words, it doesn't seem sensible to fix that by getting rid of what's probably the most recognisable name/term in the whole franchise.

So the American and British prices would be $16.75 / £10.09 for the protectors/defenders, and $20.94 / £12.61 for Gali. The actual prices will probably differ though.

But he was never said to be dead, nor planned to be. Whereas the 2010 arc was meant to conclude the main storyline, and if they want it to stay concluded, he'll probably have to stay dead.

Lego Book confirms Black Falcons as evil?
Sir Kohran replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's a bit of a jump As to whether the Black Falcons were evil...well, bear in mind their dark and morbid (for the time) colour scheme, particularly in contrast with the optimistic bright red of the Lion Knights/Crusaders. Seems like a pretty big visual clue. Of course, the beauty of it all is that they were never actually confirmed to be the bad guys - that was left up to the owner. Sadly that came to an end in 1993 with the Dragon Masters, and since then each Castle line has gotten a more and more detailed storyline, leaving less and less room for creativity... -
Great work! Like the others said, the only thing I'd change is making the purpose of the Goblin's tunnel a bit more apparent. If this is his home, surely there'd be, say, cups and a table to eat/drink from, a store of his weapons, and maybe a torch or some other lighting method?
-
You raise a very good point; fantasy has gained much more (too much?) prominence in recent years and the designs are arguably less creative than they once were. However I think we do have to understand that this is the way Castle is heading, and has been heading for a while now. The kids of today have been raised on fantasy movies and fantasy video games; I don't think the 'realistic' Castle sets of the 80s would appeal much to them. Those sets were models. These new sets are playsets (MMV excepted). For better or for worse, this is an age of quick gratification and the sets must fit into that.
-
They weren't terrible by themselves, just too goofy and poorly designed when compared to their predecessors (Royal Knights and Dark Forest - hard to believe these great sets had come out just a year or two before, the negative slide was very rapid). And, whether they deserved it or not, by 1998 they had marked the death of the Castle line that had been going since 1984.

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life and the Lumberjack Song I associate with Lego as I was listening to them a lot when I first really got back into Lego a few years ago.
