Hello Badgerboy, welcome to Eurobricks! It's always nice to have such a good builder join. :-)

Thank you. :-$ I'm not exactly sure what this has to do with Darkspawn's creation, though. :-P

Absolutely beautiful. 8-

Modified Republic Gunship on Brickshelf!
Sir Dillon replied to aayla-secura's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It doesn't seem that great to me. It isn't all that creative, because (as far as I know) it's basically the set, just recolored, and the colors look splotchy and messy. -
When someone else was complaining about their title, I said something like "you should be glad it's not something worse, like milk-livered malt-worm". Of course, an Admin gave that to me. Alas, I should've seen it coming. X-O :-P

This one, perhaps? http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=141827

I'm pretty sure the catapult is only 10 euro, and 12 dollars. :-)

*cough* Uhh. The contest is over guys. :-/

Member Titles - Questions and Answers
Sir Dillon replied to languages's topic in Forum Information and Help
Well duh. Why else would he try it on you instead of the other Admins... Just kidding... please don't hurt me. :'-( -
I got the little crossbow set yesterday. The joust was the main one I wanted, but it was all sold out. I really like the new soldiers. The torsos, the helmets, the fact they're not purple... I'm not too fond of the skeletons, but I can live with them...

Very nice! The whole thing is very cute and well made. I like the use of the Grevious (sp?) body. Have you tried giving Death Jr. a forestman cowl? If it would fit, I think it might look good.
-
Probably, but I'm not sure what this has to do with Hinckley's story. X-D

Umm. Since this isn't your thread, why are you asking it to be closed. As far as I can tell, maiq the liar hasn't said he found what he's looking for. And showing a picture, but refusing to tell where you got it just seems rude to me. :-/ >Maig, I believe he got them from this site: http://tsgk.captainn.net/?p=showsheets&t=sr&sr=339 (That may be the site Kiku linked to, but it doesn't work for me, so I thought I'd give my own link)

LEGOREDO STATION wild west set #6785
Sir Dillon replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I don't really have anything to add that hasn't already been said, but I really like this. *wub* The details are great, and the editing looks good as usual. If I didn't know better, I would've thought this was a set. -
I voted for Prof. McGonnogal. I don't really like the head, but the torso and dress and pretty nice, and I like the green hat and cape.

Ah. Good idea with the spoiler tags... I didn't think of that. I can totally understand that. I was actually surprised how quickly this one came out. (though it might have just seemed shorter with the 10.5, I'm not sure) Do you have most of the story planned out already, or do just make it up as you go along? Heh heh. I suppose that works too, but it still looks like blood and guts to me... mostly because they're red, and Ernest was white.
-
Well, you probably already know my thoughts on this, but I thought I'd say again that I love it. Great work. :-)
-
No. That ends too quickly. What I meant was to try and make a brick built back end. I've never tried something like that, so I don't know if it would look good or not, but I think if done right, it might have a nice effect.
-
A little. Thanks. :-)

Couldn't you have just left out the gun port piece all together, and just left a hole? And no, not every cabin must be in the back of a ship, but I think it looks odd on this style of ship. It might look interesting if you were to leave off the back end of the haul all and tried to make a different type of back with slopes and normal bricks. However, I don't think you'd be able to do that with a limited red brown collection

POTC 3 - From a Pirate LEGO Fanatics Perspective
Sir Dillon replied to hans-thegreat's topic in LEGO Pirates
Here are the thoughts i posted in the other thread, contains slight spoilers. Just watched it today, and enjoyed it greatly. There were still some lame parts, and some very far fetched parts, but I thought it was much better then the second one, although still in a lower league than the first one. I thought that it tied up some of the loose ends nicely, and while the ending did make me a little disappointed, it wasn't that bad. It seemed too easy for everyone to get in and out of Davy Jones Locker and save Jack. I think that should've been a bit more difficult. I suppose time was an issue, though. I also think Jack was able to fly around too easily. I suppose it was cool, but it seemed pretty unrealistic. (though I suppose that I shouldn't be looking for realism in PotC. ;-) ) ... and the part where he parachuted of the Flying Dutchman with Elizabeth was just weird, for me. Where on earth did that come from? One thing that bothered me a bit was that besides Davy Jones, none of the pirates you recognize died. (or at least not that I'm aware of) I figured there be a scene after the credits, but the friends I went with didn't want to stay for the end of them, so I missed it. :-/ Oh well, I guess it's not that important... Coming out of the theaters, I was thinking it rocked, but mostly just because how disappointed I was over the second one. If compared to the first, it's still a bit of a let down... of course, that doesn't mean you shouldn't see it. ;-) -
Hello Legeaux. I really like this creation. It has some nice colors, and overall is a nicely built ship. That's a neat cannon design, too. The sails are well made too, although I don't really like the choice of green for them. Thanks for sharing. *sweet*

This is a beautiful creation, Bonaparte! 8-o I love the height of the masts, I don't know how historically accurate it is, but it looks great. It seems to me, however, that you're missing a sail on the back mast. You've done a great job with the color blocking on the side of the ship. It looks very fluid and smooth, as opposed to if the colors were just blocked up and messy. I think that's one of my favorite parts of the ship. The red floors though, seem a bit like overkill. It's probably too much to go back and do, but I think it be a lot better if the decks and captain's cabin were grey or brown. As Maedhros stated, I also like the way you've widened the ship, without making it look clumsy or sloppy. If I'm ever around, I'll make sure to drop by and have a swim in your pool. :-D Great work!

This is very interesting. It's the first time I've seen anyone use the Viking hull for a pirate creation, and while I think you've done a good job, it just doesn't have the same nice feel as other ships. As usual, you've done a nice job with the sails ands masts setup, the rigging is simple, but works very well. The interior of the cabin is a bit unfinished looking, but I suppose it gets the job done. I have no idea if the cannons are accurate or not, but I don't like them. They have the width of a regular musket, which just doesn't seem right to me. If you were to replace the Technic piece with the regular 'cannon ball' piece, I think they'd look a lot better. It also doesn't seem like a good idea to have a cannon directly below the ladders. I don't like the use of the viking horns, but that's probably just a personal preference. The way they've been connected looks sloppy, though. I would suggest make the railing run across the top of them, not the back. Have you tried angling the cabin, and putting it on the back section of the hull? I'm not sure how good that would be able to look, but if you were able to pull it off well, I think it'd be heaps better then where it is now. Overall, I think it's a nice try, but seems below par with the rest of your creations.

In case you didn't notice, the contest is over, but thanks anyway for your positive contribution. I think it's about time this were unstickied.
