  1. I'm glad to hear it's not too weird. I'll have to jack it up a bit more.
  2. Established that you were the head honcho, I meant, in what was said before, sorry. Not yet, but nobody was snooping around the case you signed off on over the last five years, until this week. The easiest thing to do would be to point the finger at the new wife and call this suspicious death case closed. Wouldn't that be convenient I'm trying to find levity in the fact that you claim to have evidence, despite there being none. Look at the final quote of what the mayor said before: That's your 'evidence'. That sounds about right. "You'd have to do something wrong to have evidence" Are you implying that you can get evidence of something without doing something wrong? Funny, that's the exact same thing I referred to when pointing out my suspicions about you. Again, don't buy into what this guy is selling you. He has no basis, and the more he pushes against me, the more it seems like he's just doing a cover up of something he did in the past. Ah, I see he's unvoted me, maybe he's not so desperate to take me out after all.
  3. It's a portrayal of one man's decent into a personal Hell fueled by regret and self-loathing that he cannot reach the heights of his troubled father. The doctor would never be running the Institute if he hadn't inherited it. His father was the true visionary. He denies responsibility for any deaths in the hospital, but at heart, he feels more responsible for them than anyone else there, including the Walrus gang. I'm going for the Pulitzer on this.
  4. Some of the characters like photobombing, even in the 60's, that was a thing. By the way, is everyone enjoying Dr. B's character development? I find the writing is getting more abstract and strange, and Dr. B is becoming more of a deep, troubled character. Does anyone feel the same, or is it just talking Lego?
  5. Already established, Chief. Please search. There's nothing there, as far as I know. I am 100% cooperative here. I told you there was no evidence, and to let me know when you found some. You replied, and I quote, "Will do. In the mean time, the votes are piling up. Oinky oinky." So, you 1) acknowledge there is no evidence and 2) seem to be positively gleeful about railroading a woman out of town. It doesn't mean you're a communist, but at the least, it makes you a terrible police chief. And it looks like you're out to scapegoat me. I've never claimed to be a 'blocker'. Not once. You're confusing what someone else thought of me. My role is different, and I have said so much to those I talked to in private. Then maybe you don't understand what the word 'evidence' means. I know you're just a small town police chief, and maybe you're a little rusty, but there is no evidence at all. Go for it, I'll make the lemonade. I urge the few that voted for me to unvote me. It seems obvious to me that we can't take the words of the police chief at face value.
  6. Day Four Ends Vote Lynch Tally Havel Pavlov/Sok117 18 (Dragonator + Hinckley + Walter Kovacs + CorneliusMurdock + Lord Arjay + Rick + Bob + Rufus + Ricecracker + Sandy + Scouts + Quarryman + Peanuts + Roncanator + Whitefang + iamded+ ADHO15, mrlegoninja) Jesus/Hinckley 1 (Sok117) Salvatore/Draggy 1 (Zepher) Cookie Custer/Roncanator 1 (badboytje) Proxy Vote Tally Salvatore/Dragonator 16 (Hinckley, Walter Kovacs, CorneliusMurdock, Lord Arjay, Rick, Bob, Rufus, Ricecracker, Sandy, Scouts, Quarryman, Peanuts, Roncanator, Whitefang, iamded, ADHO15) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Over the past few hours, clouds have been gathering. A light snow is relentlessly pulled downward to the Earth, the magnet that it is. Dr. Blutziegel adjusts his tie, looks in the mirror, and smooths his mustache down. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The floor was silent as the generous doctor approached. Which one of you is Catchers? Ryan Catchers shuffled up to the front of the pack. "That would be me." He gave a dispassionate glance toward Blutziegel. Well, were you able to come to an agreement? Who is most likely guilty? Catchers let out a sigh and gestured toward the meek, panic-stricken Havel Pavlov. "Well, we got a theory, and this is gonna test it out, y'know?" Pavlov stuttered, "I knew they'd come for me, th-th-there's no escaping the oppressors." Nurses Pendleton and Pepper stepped toward him. "W-w-why? I'm a good man, I love God. I've... I've never even criticized the oligarchy. I just want to live in peace. Please let me live." The nurses took him firmly by the arms and escorted him out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Blutziegel turned and faced his patients and staff. Enough of these shenanigans. I spent the day in a state of cosmic reflection. The truths I witnessed were splendid and many fold. I expect Pavlov to be Sinister. If by tomorrow morning, we do not have a Sinister in our grasp, I may have to re-evaluate hospital procedures. And with that, I have some work to do before bed. Good night, and think hard on what's happened. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The doctor pivots on his heels and walks out. As he walks toward the exit, his shadow cast against the door shrinks until it meets his hand as he turns the handle. 24 hours until Day Five. Send in your night actions, the sooner the better. 20 hours will be the absolute deadline for submissions.
  7. I've tried to communicate with the people voting for me, and some seem reasonable, but one in particular doesn't. He is the chief of police. Simply looking at today's discussion, he's accused me of killing Patrick's first wife, a case he ruled as an accident. The body disappeared. At that time, I was still new in town. I did not have access to the police station, the hospital, wherever the body was being kept, and I still don't. This implies it was an inside job. As the mayor said, chief Phelps is one of the few who had access to the body. (linky!) Why he would declare it a murder, then 'lose' the body, then, when it gets reopened by other people, he all of a sudden, five years later, declares me guilty? I don't know what he had to do with the murder, but it is clear that he's trying to shift the blame away from himself. That map had a circle around our house. That does not imply anyone in our house is guilty, it implies we are targets. As I said earlier today, nobody circles their own house on a map, they circle targets and objectives. I've been trying to figure out how it is that everyone's pointing at me today, other than the fact that my husband's first wife died. Possibly we shouldn't have taken Chief Phelps report that it was an accident at face value. After reviewing the what the mayor said earlier today, and in taking my interactions with Phelps in private today into consideration, specifically the pleasure he seemed to take in his conviction of me, while ignoring the fact that there is zero evidence against me, I can't find anyone more suspect than him. If anything, he is the most suspicious, and after considering the tone of things today, I hope those that vote can see that the chance that a police chief could get away with commie activities is far more likely than a house wife could. Unvote: Ted Vote: Chief Phelps
  8. Vote Lynch Tally Havel Pavlov/Sok117 19 (Dragonator + Hinckley + Walter Kovacs + CorneliusMurdock + Lord Arjay + Rick + Bob + Rufus + Ricecracker + Sandy + Scouts + Quarryman + Peanuts + Yumiyoshi + Roncanator + Whitefang + iamded+ ADHO15, mrlegoninja) Jesus/Hinckley 1 (Sok117) Salvatore/Draggy 1 (Zepher) Cookie Custer/Roncanator 1 (badboytje) Proxy Vote Tally Salvatore/Dragonator 18 (Hinckley, Walter Kovacs, CorneliusMurdock, Lord Arjay, Rick, Bob, Rufus, Ricecracker, Sandy, Scouts, Quarryman, Peanuts, Yumiyoshi, Roncanator, Whitefang, iamded, ADHO15) 2.5 hours left. <edit> ADHO15 added back in
  9. So, the people voting for the "hasn't done anything so far" HUAC investigator have started to see their mistake and recalled their votes for him, but all the votes for me still stand? Oh well, even if I survive this vote, I'll be targeted by the pinkos tomorrow, so it doesn't make much difference.
  10. What? I'm still waiting on the evidence. My husband's previous wife died. The police never investigated it thoroughly. Now my house is on the Commie's radar. That's the "evidence" against me. But, I suppose it's the nature of this game the times that people will seize on anything they can. It seems a few people here are really pushing hard for me, and I hope you'll pay attention to what people are letting paranoia take over their rationale if it ends up being me. I've told a few people in private who I cleared at night, so when I'm gone, at least the information will still be there to help the town. I need to go to work soon take a nap to take in all the finger pointing at me. All I've ever done is try to help my family and my adopted town, but it seems you still consider me an outsider
  11. Vote Lynch Tally Havel Pavlov/Sok117 20 (Zepher, Dragonator + Hinckley + Walter Kovacs + CorneliusMurdock + Admiral Ron + Lord Arjay + Rick + Bob + Rufus + Ricecracker + Sandy + Scouts + Quarryman + Peanuts + Yumiyoshi + Roncanator + Whitefang + iamded + ADHO15) Jesus/Hinckley 1 (Sok117) Proxy Vote Tally Salvatore/Dragonator 18 (Hinckley, Walter Kovacs, CorneliusMurdock, Admiral Ron, Lord Arjay, Rick, Bob, Rufus, Ricecracker, Sandy, Scouts, Quarryman, Peanuts, Yumiyoshi, Roncanator, Whitefang, iamded, ADHO15) There are 15.5 hours left in the day. And tonight's 'night' will be 24 hours again, so be ready to send in your night actions early.
  12. Yes, my family is a target because of Patrick's history. I haven't accused him of anything. You have two ears and one mouth people. Listen!
  13. Why are we related to commie activities? Because we're a target of commies?! Think about it. There's a map with our house circled. Why would someone circle their own house on a map? Have any of you ever done that? No, far more likely, Patrick is a target for his history in Washington. Or I'm a target of all you think about it.
  14. Yup, paranoia rules the day.
  15. yes I did, and if their name gets thrown out for votes, I'll stand up and defend them, but until then, it's better to keep their name secret.
  16. I was at your house looking for commies the only way I know how. I am now confident you aren't one. I haven't lied, I have no reason to. I am trying to be low key, but that may be impossible now
  17. And what exactly did I lie about? This really is a witch hunt, isn't it Go for it, vote me out over blind conjecture. You'll be able to see who was steering you wrong in the morning. No more pie for any of you boys
  18. Wow, I don't know the Blight of Oz, but these are gorgeous Really professional looking. Thanks for sharing.
  19. I'm sorry, I didn't live here as long as you? That's your reason for finger pointing? Truth is, I'd never met Patrick at the time of his wife's death, but we met during a period of loss for him, and I've been a loving wife ever since. Regarding the chef's accusations about Ackerson and myself, they seem beneath commenting on. The chef's a peeper looking for kicks. I should slap him in the face for being so fresh. In the evenings, I've been taking it upon myself to find pinkos, and so far I haven't found anything
  20. Vote Lynch Tally Havel Pavlov/Sok117 2 (ADHO15, Zepher) Proxy Vote Tally Salvatore/Dragonator 16 (Hinckley, Walter Kovacs, CorneliusMurdock, Admiral Ron, Lord Arjay, Rick, Bob, Rufus, Ricecracker, Sandy, Scouts, Quarryman, Peanuts, Yumiyoshi, Roncanator, iamded)
  21. Mod note: Professor Diem's mug shot was one of the first I took, and though his suit changed, I never got around to retaking it. For all intents and purposes, his suit is black, and has been consistently so since day one. Nothing is meant by the 'change'.
  22. Last time in Dr. Bloodbrick's Asylum Now, on to ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The sky remains crisp and clear this morning. The New Year's holiday has fully ended, and the rumble of cars on the road getting back to their regular grind occasionally echo from the distance. Dr. Blutziegel's forehead throbs in a way that it hasn't since his university days. He sits alone in his office. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nurse Penny informed the staff, "The doctor has requested we come to his office." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The doctor glanced at the head of the King on his table, and then to his staff. He steadied himself as he focused his glare on them. Thank you all for coming. I don't feel well this morning. The stress of this experience is taking it's toll on me. Dr. Ballbricker, who was the next in line for the PR position? Ballbricker consulted her notes. "Ryan Catchers, sir. Shall I notify him?" She awaited his answer. Dr. Blutziegel stood silent, deeply breathing through his nose. Yes. I will be staying in my office for the day. I will come to the ward at the end of the day. Everything else should continue as per usual. Ballbricker spoke for everyone, "Understood, doctor. I think it's fair under the circumstances. I'll notify the patients of the situation, although I think they're all pretty much aware at this point." The doctors and nurses moved to leave the room. One more thing: Nurse Pepper, I would like you to bring a liter of ketamine to my office before lunch. Quizzically, Nurse Pepper asked, "But doctor, what do you need anesthetic for? There's no patient here." Dr. Blutziegel glowered at Pepper. "I'll be up shortly, sir." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The staff gathered the remaining patients, whose number had shrunk by nearly a third. Doctor Ballbricker spoke: "Here's the deal. The King? He was Insane. His friend, the Chief? Murdered. He was Insane. And a third patient, Cat Manuel. Murdered. He was Insane. This is a problem. Manuel's death is the third M.O. to surface this week. We're wondering if the Walrus' death gave other ticking tomb bombs the trigger they wanted to indulge their vice... "The Chief was your PR. Since he's gone, that means Ryan Catchers is your new PR. Congratulations to him." The patients grumbled and looked towards Catchers. Catchers looked to his feet. Ballbricker continued, "Our good doctor plans not to grace us with his presence today, he's, for lack of a better term, occupied. But he wants things to continue as per status quo. We need to find these killers, and that includes us staff too. All of us need to work together to solve this thing." Dr. Rajim and the nurses nodded their heads. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The patients line up at the window to get their days medication and ponder their fate. Day Four has begun. All remaining players have 48 hours in which to vote on a lynch. The Rules 1. There are two opposing sides in this game, the Insane and the Sinister Insane. The Sinister Insane win when they outnumber the Insane and can kill Dr Blutziegel. The Insane win when they’ve killed or lynched all of the Sinister Insane. 2. Each day, the players will vote out one amongst them by lynching the member with the most votes. One vote can cause a lynch. To vote or to take back your vote, you must use the following sentence in your post: vote: character or unvote: character, using bold letters. If you want to change your vote, you must first unvote before the second vote is calculated. If you can't or don't want to vote, you may proxy your vote to another player by using the following sentence: proxy: character. Proxy lasts a single game day, and you can unproxy using the sentence unproxy: character. You may not vote for yourself to be lynched. Your own proxy vote against you will not be counted. 3. Days last 48 hours. Voting begins when the day begins. No waiting is necessary. It ends after 48 hours. Voting can change up until that final moment. Days will start and finish around midnight, Japan-time. Calibrate your clock accordingly. 4. Every player will receive a PM letting them know their positions, and possibly their abilities. These are subject to change, and are part of the game mechanics, and should be treated as such. You are expected to role play until the end of the game. 5. The night abilities have a pre-specified order of effect. ie. role-blocker supercedes killer, so if a role-blocker targets a killer as the killer targets the role-blocker, the role-blocker will live. This list is predetermined and will be revealed after the game has finished. When the day ends, you will have a posted amount of hours in which to submit night moves. The night should last either 24 or 48 hours, depending on my schedule. 6. The Day-topics are meant for active players only, so do not post in them if you are dead. The Discussion-topic is open to everybody to comment on how you like the game, but please do not post anything that might influence game players actions. 7. Do not edit your posts. If you make a mistake and want to correct it, just repost it with an 'Excuse my nonsense above, I meant to say...' 8. Do not directly quote anything I’ve sent to you via PM. Please use your own words, and never post unpostable information, as listed in the PM. Claiming roles in thread is forbidden. Describing roles is okay. (ie. "I'm the cop!" is verboten. "I went through his stuff last night." is perfectly fine.) Do not directly quote other people's PMs. In this game, there is only 'talking,' so there is nothing to quote. 9. PM players as much as you like, just don't call them Potato Messages. No potatoes allowed to inmates. Please be inventive, using your own phrases, like, "Let's speak in the corner." 10. I will be using two voices in the game, the game runner and Dr. Blutziegel. The game runner's rules will always hold true, and be written in plain text. Questions about game rules should be addressed with me via PM or the discussion thread. Hospital rules may be asked in thread to Dr. Blutziegel. Blutziegel will speak in green. Dr. Blutziegel has a low tolerance for inane patient questions. 11. In game, you can't kill/convert/etc. Dr. Blutziegel, so don't waste a night action on it. 12. Breaking a rule or directive will, at least, get you a smack on the head from Dr. B (aka, a penalty vote). At worst, it will involve you being booted from the game. 13. About meta-gaming. As a serial meta-gamer (despite thinking it poor game play), I've designed this game to be anti-meta. Using the number picker at random.org, avatars were assigned rooms, then players were (for the most part) randomly assigned avatars, and after those were settled, roles and powers were randomly assigned. There is no connection between hospital roles and game roles. So have fun in the game, but don't think nurses are being led by the doctors, or there is any meaning between room groupings. If you do, you will shoot yourself in the foot and hurt your team. 23. Stevie, don't you know that I've always tried to love you? I can't replace your mother, but I'll always be here for you >sob< Please, don't tell me the police chief is going to lose it too! This is the real world, not some trashy dime store novella. All things point to poor investigations by the police in that case, so to randomly point the finger at me five years later, well, that's appalling. Please stick to the real world and what's happening around us
  24. I say you're a crackpot for voting out my son. A mysterious outsider walks into our town and points the finger at my family. Vote: Ted As my dear husband seems to be a little under the weather this morning, would it be fair to cast a vote for him? I'm sure he would be equally appalled that his son is being blindly targeted. I'm more trusting of the long standing members of this town, than anyone who arrived this week.
  25. You may be my step-son, but I'm not afraid to wash your mouth out with soap!
