Thank you all, for taking the time to comment and the kind words, glad the setting works for all - especially those of you like Masseditor / Titus whom I regularly check on on flickr, very humbling that you took the time to give feedback -

Thanks for the kind words all, glad the setting works for you guys as well. With regards to a "build picture"... Here's a sad story. Was photographing in the room, went to the computer to make sure the pics turned out ok. Went back in the dark room, lights were off, promptly sat on the build that was on my chair I was using to photograph as I was reaching out to turn on the desk lamp. The base of the moc's fine, and tree (and my bum) not so much. Will probably rebuild it this weekend though, and post a clearer picture. -

Let this be a warning to one and all - there will be no running from us, even the darkness will not hide you. We will find you, and your every secret will be laid bare. -
Well... white bricks. Plenty of white bricks. Oh and some yellowing ones too

I've been a bit slack in responding, but thank you all for your kind words - as mentioned my first "islandy piratey" build, so it's nice to know it works for everyone else too :)

Stories tell of an imperial ship transporting an infamous pirate to trial that ran into a freak storm and was wrecked. In a twist of fate, all hands were lost, save their prisoner. Rising from the depths of the wreck like the devil himself, he frightened the wits out of two fishermen who had come to investigate. Forcing them to help remove his treasure from the ship and bury it, he then slaughtered them and escaped in their boat. As the years passed, the tale faded from memory and other settlers took up residence on the island. Still, ever so often drunken sailors in dim taverns would ramble on about finding the map that would lead them to eternal riches… https://flic.kr/p/Rz5Ghb A few more pictures from different angles on my flickr account - please feel free to view them (https://www.flickr.com/gp/92675222@N06/u00010). C&Cs very much welcome of course, my first "islandy" build. Very much inspired by the many great builds and builders here on Eurobricks :)

Woohoo! Big thanks to Kwatchi for organizing this great minichallenge - got me off my bum to start building for BoBs again. Congrats to all other winners too, and everyone else who was part of it. -
MINI CHALLENGE - Gangs of Charlatan Bay (WINNER ANNOUNCED)

Not too late am I? The Painted Ladies of Charlatan Bay. -
You could sail to any port in the seven seas and you'd find them... in alleyways, and taverns..., Always eager to help relieve lonely sailors of their tensions and sorrows. And money of course. But while many of these ladies of the night were impoverished commoners with little other choice, a select few worked for a greater organization. Drunk (and happy) men had loose tongues, and these painted ladies were always keeping their ears (amongst other things) open for the juiciest morsels of information. All of these went back to through a complex network to the one they called "The Mistress". No one knew what she really looked like under the mask, no one knew much about her, nor where she'd come from, but everyone knew that if you needed to find something out, she was the one who could help you - for a price. Anything from the painted ladies did not come cheap. It's been awhile since I've posted anything, life's been busy. Easing my way back into BoBs, and thought a figbarf was a good way to start. Thanks for organizing it Kwatchi and gang!

These guys need to join us Sea rats. If our guys are not doing this, they're not Sea Rat-ing right -
Thankyou kind sir. Another question, couldn't quite find the answer, and didn't know where to ask: Looking at the scorecard thread, my Feb yield is 45 DB. Not that any self-respecting sea rat would complain about extra moolah, but I'm wondering why it's 45? I've only posted 2 freebuilds this month, (one intro + one ship), shouldn't that only be 20? TIA.

Yep, have it licensed as a 1F. Thank you for adding it to the index kind sir.

Thank you all for the kind words, I struggled a little with sail ideas before landing on smaug wings - glad to see it works for everyone else too.

Sea Rats: Sign-up and Discussion
nivremis replied to Darkdragon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Rumors of the new world that contained untold riches had spread east, and Captain Shen was intrigued. If the rumors were true, then Shen definitely wanted a piece of the action. If not, well at least there'd be plenty of easy targets with all the merchants seeking their own fortunes. Win win. -

He was often described as having no emotions, but Shen always felt rather sad when he took leave of his grandpa. Grandpa Shen had brought him up, supported his decision to join the emperor's navy, and when Shen had gone rouge he still knew that grandpa would always be there for him. Back on board the Red Dragon, Shen gave orders to set sail back down the river and out to sea to rejoin his main ship. The Red Dragon was great when time was of the essence, and its ability to navigate both open sea and inland rivers gave it a unique position in the "movement of sensitive objects" when required, but nothing beat the luxury of his flagship. My first real ship moc in years. C&C more than welcome of course. Intention is a small fast craft (Class 1 I'm guessing), lightly armed with only 2 guns, and easily manned by 3 or 4 crew members.

It seemed like each year the trip to the sea dragon god's shrine took more and more out of him, but Master Shen was determined to make the trip as long as he drew breath. This year was special too, a leap year, and as they had promised all those years ago his grandson would be performing the ritual with him. They didn't see each other enough, but that was to be expected. It wouldn't do for people to see an exalted man like himself associating with someone of his grandson's ... character. Still, that only made this day more special. While people might whisper about the notorious "dragon of the eastern sea", "pirate lord of the east", or whatever fanciful names they had these days, Master Shen only saw a smiling little boy in the place of the rough scarred faced man that stood before him. Wanted to do a quick intro for my sigfig, the younger gentleman on the left of the picture with the ponytail and scarred face. As I'm sure you've surmised, he has thrown his lot in with the sea rats. C&C more than welcome of course.
