  1. Hi! Just found the Midi Scale Falcon at a french ebay-shop. Greetings, Jansued
  2. Hi there! I must admitt my entry misses some humor, so I want to add some minifgs to make the idea clearer. Also I changed the stern a little bit and worked on details. @KimT: I know this has to be out of contest, but am I allowed to add some photos here and on mocpages with a clear notice "Not Relevant for contest" under it? @my competitors: We should build a big battle scene with all our entries for next brickworld ... Good luck to you. If I should get a prize I would like to sponsor it for the next competition - just o keep it goin.. Take Care JanSued

    SWAAT

10 Years after the Clone wars ended, thousands of clone troopers, dismissed and disarmed by the new Emperor are traveling through the known universe. Posttraumatic symptoms and poor bio-engineering made many of them very angry and frustrated soldiers which then were an easy aim for the drug dealers of the Hutt clan or any other gang. Stoned, drunken - but still in in good shape and trained in self defence and military tactics, these guys were very unhappy customers for the local planetary governments. Some of clone trooper officers even managed to build up their own gangs and brotherhoods. They knew where to find weapons and where to find the money - a series of crimes with a new quality of brutality and precision started. At this point of the story, the planetary goernments of the outer rim asked the emperor for help - but he was busy to fight the rebellion. So many planets, merchant guilds and other groups formed a coalition to fight those elements and built up a heavy police force with the codename "LSP3". The Imperial Defence Ministry supported them with some old vessels from the clone wars - mainly LAAT/i and AT-RT, which were refurbished and equipped with new weapons systems. This is the latest model of the Special Weapons Arial Attack Team: It's a little bit heavier and less manouverable than the old LAAT, but its faster and better armored. In the front gun bays there are two turrets with light and infrared search lights, combined with two Tazer Guns to disable smaller vessels. Every element which is a little bit less armored or shield has a UltraSteel Protective fence or cage around it. A very well know tactic of the SWAAT is the "Armageddon Approach", which means, the SWAAT crashes into a building or vessel and then release the troops. In the cockpit, there is place for the pilot and the WSO (Weapons system officer). Under the cockpit, there are bubble turrets on each side with a high-precision anti-personal laser attack sytem with can be used lethal or non-lethal force. In the back there is a Ion TeleTracting System for "towing" disabled vessels. In the rear cabin there is enough space for 4 police officers with jet packs which can be deployed during the flight - especially for Recon Missions and Hostage Rescue. At each wing there are the main weapon systems: 1. Taim & Bak KX 8 TurboLaser Canon to attack heavily armored vessels or fortifications. The use of this weapon required a special permission from the Emperor because it is capable to penetrate every kind of military shield and most kinds of armor. Normally only used in self defense or to breach a hull or a wall for the "Armageddon approach" 2. HighSpeed Chain Particle Gun (CIS-Weaponry) to attack and damage enemy vessels. This weapon system is used for applying limited force to stop vessels. The projectiles don't penetrate the hull but will damage exterior parts like engines, weapons and com Systems. 3. Long Range Slayn & Korpil Intruder Missile to stop and disarm enemy vessels from a safe distance 4. Multi-Purpose Concussion Missile - breach walls and end sublight space chases in a very short moment. For a safe response the SWAAT is equipped with a 8 emergency lights panels and a emergency lightbar from Imperial Signal Cooperation. The frequency red and blue lights were visible for every know species and the accustic emergency signal is audible within 0,2 parsecs. The PA-System, used in turbo mode, is lethal within 2 miles. Finally, the SWAAT is equipped with a Prison Pod. Any arrested clones will be brought into the pod, which is secuered with a BIO shield system and Ultra Steel bars. The Prison Pod then will be quickly released at the CDC (Clone Detention Center) and is then an integrated part of the CDC - the prisoners needn't to be moved. The quick release system can also be used as an emergency drop of, in case the clones managed to free themselves. Sorry - but I ran out of time. I will add final specifications and the SWAAT-Personal in the next days although I know its to late.. Regards, Jan
  5. Hello guys! I'm Steve Bonnet and I hope I'm in the right Subforum - dunno what "Starwars" is but those classic pirates guys threw me out... It started some weeks ago. Piracy in the warm Carribean Seas wasn't funny since those this republic soldiers were armed with some seldom, but deadly weapons: So I sent a Bird to the Pirate's Guild and asked for Reinforcements. Two weeks later, I got a big shiny box from Mr. Lego, Denmark: Inside there was a little book, stickers and some bags with parts At first I assembled my new friends, some skinny Pirates from an Island far, far away called Florrum. I couldn't understand one word they're saying. But we had some beers and soon we really understood each other. The third guy was some teacher-like unfriendly very "I know it all" type. We didn't like him from the beginning and sent him to the sea.. Next, we assembled our new ship: There is a really neat mechanism to lift the ole captain on the deck. Its a good thing because also Pirates get older.. My new friends are also using canon balls, but they don't need those heavy canons any more. They just snip it... And - finally I got my own BFG. Normally in a battle situation I just yell orders, kill my own personell or wait to be killed by the good looking hero from the other ship. Not any more.. The final assembly was really simple: Two more Snippin' canon balls are at the stern: No Sails, no Rudder, no Slaves - we just gut to boxes which are singing like a whale and bringing us whereever we want: And here it is, the final vessel: I suggested to call it "The Flying Pearl", but my new friends just called it: "Pilf Mukmuk". Hmm. Strange Name. It's fine ship, but unfortunately the captains cabin isn't high enough for me and my personal protective gear... It's a good idea to have some harpoons on the outside of your hip, so you can shoot your dinner whenever you want. AND now - finally we will find those republic bastards and send them to the ugliest place on earth - The Hell of Megabloks. sic! - Live is not fair... Design: 10/10 Nice. Really nice. Finally something different. Only thing they could to better is to offer alternative to the snip rockets. The "jumpseat" is a nice idea... Build: 6/10 Not very challenging, but not to much repitition. Playability: 9/10 The tank has wheels and so - while I'm typing this there is an intensive battle between both tanks... Minifigures: 9/10 If they would hae included a new JarJar or a Clone Trooper - it would be perfect. And I might b wrong, but weren't the heads of the pirats very skinny - and not little balloons? Price: 8/10 I bought it for 49,95.-€, but I guess the final price will be 39,95.-€ That's not cheap, but ok. Overall: 42/50 Good set, not too expensive and "something different" who are fed up with clankers, jedi and troopers. Maybe we will see the flying saucer also ...
  6. Hi! Today I got my Pirate Tank 7753. Review will follow, but its a nice set.... Jan
  7. That is what I'm thinking about for the last days... Jan
  8. Sorry this didn't come out as clearly as I wanted: Its exaggerated by purpose - nobody wants TLC to reduce the box size to the absolute minimum. Even with your points, a box 50% of the actual size would be enough. But making them so big as they are is not good and gives a lot of points to argue about: Why are they so big, what effects does it have (transport costs - environmental impact) and so on ... Another point: It is close to impossible to hide the new boxes. The average detection time for my kids / wife (even worse) is about 60 seconds - and then the struggle starts. No way then to build the set without interference. Smaller boxes could be hidden in the normal shopping bags ;-) Regards, Jan
  9. Ok, if nobody else wants to do it: Here is my review of the Set 8037, Anakin's Y-Wing Set Name: Anakin's Y-Wing Starfighter Set Number: 8037 Theme: Star Wars / Clone Wars Year: 2009 Price: EUR 69,95 Pieces: 570 Minifigures: 3 First the formal part... This is the box: from the back: and the contents: And again - the world famous box analysis: Better than 7749, but still only 20-30% of the box is used... The minifigs -well known. Just R2D2 got a grey head. Now we start construction... The first step - building the "engine bridge": Some SNOT is used when building the sideboards... To shoot a torpedo, you just put R2D2 on a little grey technic axe and move him like a trigger. I'm not sure if R2D2 really likes this mechanism, but for my kids it was ok. Are the egg-like thingies new parts? Engines are nearly complete: What really tested my abilities and endurance was the construction of 8 (eight) engine attachments. Puh.. The final cockpit: Having a rotating turret just would be perfect. Otherwise enemy fighters kindly have to be asked just to attack from a straight line behind. I hope, they've got a good heater inside - the cockpit is open in the back Under the Y-Wing there is the "Torpedo-Canon" Formal comparison of the Y-Wings: Set 7658: Y-Wing 454 Parts, EUR 45,99.- BTL S3 Y-Wing *Snip* It's a nice day at a main alliance outpost a few months after the Battle of Endor. The rookie pilots have a lesson about heavy bomber starfighters. Instructor: Listen up! This is an BTL-B Y-Wing Starfighter, now nearly 28 years in Service. It has gone through some modifications, as you can see at the S3 Version behind you. We changed the turret and the weaponry and those lazy mechanics took the panels away. It's an old lady, but it flies like a Sandhopper, has shields to protect you from nearly any enemy fighter and can carry more bombs and torpedos than any other craft - except the B-Wing. There are some rumors that especially this craft was flown by Darth Vader and some jedi girl punk in the Clone Wars. I think these a re rumors - ol' Vader and a girlie jedi - pffff. *mumbling*: Yes that kid was a pain in the a** - but I'll be back... Overall Design: 8/10 Better than the old Y-Wing, but - a rotating turret and a cockpit without holes just would be perfect. - some kind of landing gear just would be fine... Build: 9/10 Easy, some new parts (for me) Playability: 9/10 The torpedo "rocks" and the whole fighter is very durable. Minifigures: 6/10 Just the usual suspects. Some nice individiual Clone Pilots would have been better and may have influenced some AFOL's to buy this set... Price: 8/10 Just the usual overprizing. But because of the playability and the nice design better than some other Clone Wars sets.. Total: 40/50 Conclusion. Not as bad as you might thought. Ok, it's too expensive, the minifigs are boring - but the design is simple and nice and my kids really like to play with it. (And I can safe my 7658 BTL S3..)
  10. Thanx for the hint, but I got a Imperial Decontamination Unit to clean up the Taun-Taun before he spreads butter in the Hangar... Take care, Jan
  11. *snip* I got it.
  12. Hmm. I resized the pictures at Brickshelf and renewed the picture links - why they don't resize in here? Ah, just fixed it.... Greetings, Jan
  13. Ok, I was crazy enough to drive 100 Miles to a special TRU where they didn't pay attention to the release date. So I bought the Hoth Set and the Droid Tank. Sorry, no review of the droid tank - the kids couldn't wait. (Yes, yu are right, I couldn't wait...) Here comes my review - please take it with some humor... Set Name: Echo Base Set Number: 7749 Theme: Star Wars Year: 2009 Price: EUR 26.95 Pieces: 155 Minifigures: 5 There are enough pictures of the outside, so here some from the inside and the building instructions There is a little poster named 2009 Mini-figure Gallery. Who finds all the mistakes? I count three... Oh, and there is a picture of the Home One Box - for those who didn't see it yet: The thing that really irritates me and makes me some kind of angry (remember, I drove 200 Miles to get these sets), is the emptiness of the box: Beeing an engineer, I tried to find out how much of the box is really needed -with some help from an old Rebel Trooper: Amazing, isn't it? Ok, I guess TLC would have problems to sell this little box for 26,95.-€ .... Allright, this is the contents: Let start with the minifigs: 2 Imperial Snow troopers 2 Rebel Snow troopers Han Solo A big grey squirrel with a saddle: After staying for some weeks on Hoth and beeing rejected bei Leia, Han Solo showed a strange interest in the big grey squirrel... but he still got the problem with getting on it.... The Imperials got a new E-WEB (who ever named this weapon E-WEB? I suggest Kill-o-Zap - D.Adams ;-) - ). The rebels show their respect to this new system. Ok, guys, its a nice weapon - but the name is really sh**. Their must be a strange sympathy for the Imperium at TLC - they sabotaged the defense post with some kind of Ejection Device...: Looks like they expected a really good stuntshow.. I hope this link works: Movie The only good thing TLC done for the Rebels is the little hideout in the turret: Ok, lets wait until those At-AT are gone... The rocket system inside the turret: Here the new set on its first mission: Where the hell are we? Its f***** cold, totally dark for the most times and there is strange smell all around. Get the squirrel out of the butter! Too late.... Overall Design: 8/10 The turret is a little bit too small. The E-Web could be more detailed. Build: 6/10 There's nothing new or unique in the way the set is built. Playability: 9/10 The rockets are cool and the ejection also. Minifigures: 10/10 Couldn't be better ... Price: 5/10 155 Pieces for 26,95.-€ No way. Total: 38/50 Conclusion A nice set - but far too expensive. The Minifigs and the Taun-Taun are very good, but a bigger tower and some more details would made it better, if not perfect. Comments and constructive criticism are welcome! Oh, I nearly forgot the leftovers: Thank you for reading my review!
  14. Anybody know something about this one:
  15. I just bought the Hoth Set and the Droid Tank in Dusiburg - working on an review... Jan
  16. Hi! Size? Around 350 Pieces - medium entry! And what do you mean with full pictures? Regards, Jan
  17. Mocpages Rapid Intervention Vehicle No. 25 - Corruscant City Fire and Rescue Divsion Despite all safety centered technolgie, heavy accidents on the magnetic highways were very common in Corruscant. CCFRD therefore has 225 Fire and Rescue Stations with rapid intervention capabilities - beside 32 with Fireships and 2 heavy rescue carriers in the outer athmosphere. The RIV has a crew of a pilot and a firefighter and a top speed of 420 mph. The RIV main features are a full automatic fire attack system and a Traffic Warning and Support Drone. The fire attack system consists of an compressed air foam system and a thermo gel attack unit, each delivered by an zero athmosphere nozzle. This nozzle clears the path of the foam/gel jet from any gases so that the RIV can attack fires at high speed within the athmosphere. RIV are generally modular to provide bigger foam tanks or patient transportation capabilities. The TSD (Traffic Warning and Support Drone) normally hovers 100 feet above the scene, warning other pilots and provide lighting. The Drone also can lift heavy objects for recovery. Other Drones were able to search automaticaly for downed pilots or escape pods.
  18. To be honest - the Side Canons idea came from this: http://images.google.de/url?source=imgres&...82keApT2U42Xk0g or the famous Indiana Jones sequence...
  19. Hi! 1 Gunner for the D-WEB and 2 Gunner in the frint cargo bay to operate the missiles and shoot ot of the flaps. There is picture on MOCpages with the full crew. The Rockets are long distance to destroy enemy fortifications from a safe distance. Yep, you are right, I forgot to post a photo with open Main Cargo Bay doors can I add it?
  20. Moc Pages Shortly after the war with the seperatists started, the clone army suffered severe losses at their heavily armored units like AT-TE and AT-AP. Additionally, they were very expensive and too slow. Republic Engineers therefore constructed a big land speeder which was capable of transport freight, different weaponry and troops to fullfill different roles on the galactic battlefields. Because Rotana Industries was busy with buildung LAAT and AT-TE Units, the Republic Army ordered 4000 units at the SoroSuub Coorporation (the company which builds the famous X-34 Landspeeder). Like the most weapon systems and crafts which are build under enormous pressure and in big numbers (like the future UH-1D oder M113) the MAS was a very reliable and nearly indestructable vehicle. His weight is 80 tons. It is capable of transporting 20 tons at a max height of 2 Metres and with 100 miles/h. The Heavy Recon Version had the following features: Long Distance Communication Systems 2 long Distance Armor Piercing High Explosive Rockets in front cargo bay for destroying enemy installation from a safe distance 1 Gun Pods at ech side. The gun pod can be extracted for a full 180 Degree Rotation to attack hostile infantry. The gun pods are controled by gunners in the open cockpit 1 C-WEB Heavy Repeater Blaster on top, behind the cockpit to engage enemy armor and airborne units. 6 Seats for Clone Troopers in the Main Cargo Bay The whole front was armored with additional ultrasteel plates. Two shield generators protected the main engine system. The open cockpit has a special shield fence to protect the pilot. The main engines can be ejected if thea are hit and overheating. Then there is an emergency engine system with two small turbo blasters over the back bay door. The crew consisted of 1 Pilot 3 Gunner 8 Clone Troopers The MAS/HR was also used fpr ARC Missions. Then a task force of 2 MAS/HR, 2 MAS/HW (Heavy Weapons) and 1 MAS/AD (Air Defense) was deployed. But this is something for the next contest.... And here, the last pics: With crew Front Cargo Bay with heavy HiEx missiles Rear Cargo Bay with clone troopers.

  23. Shit - just noticed its a 8x9 ground plate. But nonetheless, outside the contest: The Fence Incident Firefighter Brad hates Calls just before his shift ends. So that is why he chose a rather unusual way to extricate little Mrs. Connor which unfortunately got stuck into her fence chasing her cat.
  24. Ok, I missed the first run, but here some of my ideas: Make a forest firefighting undersection: Water Bomber http://www.oognok.ca/415/photos/gallery.shtml Heavy Helicopter with water bucket http://www.12af.acc.af.mil/shared/media/ph...542C-%20202.jpg maybe in connection with a tree logger truck, etc. A power plant? A car factory? Greetings, Jan
