the prices mentioned above are the "set"-prices Why they should now retire the motor with the lower manufacturing costs?
-
Here are the prices from BrickSet WeDo 2.0 Medium Motor $14.95 Medium Linear Motor $16.99 So the difference is just $2.04, not that much I think
-
Or simply use universal motors and use all other features too.
-
The difference between M and simple M was 3,--€, and as I reuse parts for new MOCs I'm more flexible. Like PF it requires some gear and external speed control afaik , both nor required with all PU-Motors except simple M and train
-
no feedback to the controller, but internally for speed control. Starting smothly and no problems with curves and switches or heavy weights. Have a look (0:47)
-
Perhaps cause they are were very old and the only technic motors without feedback, which is not very useful.

Pybricks Q&A
Lok24 replied to Pybricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi all, I reported here my problem, that installing Pybricks firmware on MoveHub fails https://github.com/orgs/pybricks/discussions/2102 Is anybody here with the same problem or even a solution? -
Didn't understand a word , but this is really a great work and presentation.

cada / mouldking motorset
Lok24 replied to harry500's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Just one, cause it supports 4 channels. -
No, for the Porsche 42176 you mentioned, sorry if that was misunderstood.
-
There are examples on github ....
-
Or just a micromotor with integrated hub and battery.

What ist the essential difference between Mindstorms App and Pybricks or Spike App ?
-
No reverse engineering needed, the protocol is published, so it's open for everyone. And all what third parties offer is based on this. And BT is documented too. Agreed, I proposed that to LEGO years ago, the answer was "perhaps"
-
This was long time ago, today the models have buffer capacitors ;-) just like with PU
-
I'm not a friend of that, cause while charging train has to stop and can't be used, right? One ?
-
Sure, but not in the system architecture It does. I have a program that controls hubs with the remote, you can turn the remote off or get far away, motor runs as before, you can connect again later exists (not from LEGO) Just marketing That would be a simple Y-cable ;-)
-
First time ever there is one system for all themes, completely programmable and with open protocol (and so every part of the system can be controlled by any external device with BT) That cannot be improved.
-
Hm. With PU you - in many cases - don't need any gear boxes, that's the advantage. How do you adjust the speed?
-
PU is much simpler and much more practical for nearly all other issues . Did you ever try GBC without any gear and fixed rpm?
-
How did you make a 12 V layout with 3 turnouts and signals on the floor, with all these cables? How long would it take to set this up? How easy a child could do this? And how to be modified? And how to clean away? I don't miss anything, and the children (5 and 7 years) like to operate signals and turnouts manually and follow the train on it's way with the remote in their hand (ii.e. to another room). Two or more can play on the same layout simultaneously.
