near the base of a rocky mountain halflings have called an old human tower their base of operations. I found this to be a fun moc to build because i used a few tecniques i haven't used before like making thatched roof out of lego hands. the front view - see the bit of thatched roof on top . side view - i didn't put much detail ( if any ) on the sides but i did add a few branch pieces to make it less bland. the inside - i will go over this part in floors. top floor - this is pretty basic but i added a stool . the floor has two hights, near the end of the room the floor goes down by 1 block. middle floor - this floor has a small overhang witch is empty space right now .this room is mainly a storage and hall type place for the halfling raiders. bottom floor/ basement this floor is where the halflings rest and eat . shown in this pic is the halfling leader in his plate mail armour and his servant . a better view of the top of the tower on the outside. notice that a few bricks are going out at an angle, this didn't work as well as i hoped but it still makes it look less flat and boring. so what do you guys think ? how could i improve it? thanks

hey at least you have metrotown mall to go to .On the island we have 1 of the worst TRU stores in canada . but hey nice to see two people from British columbia usually smaller areas get lego last but i did find the crystal skull sets pretty early at my local zellers. The usa gets lego before canada because of shipping reasons im guessing. after christmas is my best guess for when the new pirates will be on most shelves, it was about a week ago when we found pirate sets in stores anyways. they will be here soon enough

I'm wondering how would you connect the butcherd lego peices to eachother? Also how did you get the dark green peices ,if you changed the colours then how did you do it? Anyways great work and i think it looks beautifully terriffing. ...any chance you are selling it?

Hey waiting a week ain't too bad in my opinion I usually have to wait more than a week or two for my orders even though it says in the catalog it will be 7 days or so. Though i still hate the wait for my lego. Any of you remember how bad it was when the first starwars battlepacks came out well i had to wait more than two months for just 26 dollars worth of lego ( I still think it was worth it) anyways Anyways just wait a day or two and it should pop up in your mailbox and maybe it isn't legos fault but your post office is slow in getting mail in and sorted .

well i guess im a lucky bastard then (yeah! im finally more than just a bastard!) . A poor one though because i dont have enough money to get these sets. I noticed the 12.99 dollar set is a dollar cheaper i guess it because of the lack of pieces. I was wondering though why is there no 39.99 dollar set theirs a bit of a gap between small and large sets. still im glad pirates is here. edit. yeah i just noticed the soliders fort was up a second ago it is also cheaper than i thought 8)

So is the price you got this for is going to be more than the price at shop@home . I dont find it to <insert that tiresome argument> compared to the new pirate sets and it does have a nice solid feel to it unlike many starwars ships so if it is cheaper then i will most definatly get it.

Well it depends what head you are using because the basketball player heads were much more detailed than the regular minifig heads so i guess they would fit in with fleshie. But if your using more basic faces then then black minifigs would fit in with both fleshie and yellow. i think its fine to add a little diversity to lego town . Now the real question is should we mix fleshie and yellow minifigs??

Actually ive had security problems with eurobricks several times , i do not know of this malware though but yes i have been having prtoblems too.

ouch uh mabye use nicer more happy pirate language instead of what this pirate would say (sorry for the silly comment ) yes what you said there Mr.Brickingtons :D is how to make the prototype version of the german mechanic and the other german fig is the same one from the motercycle chase set ( same face as always ) oh and the new set news is not new to most of us, most of the sets listed may not be released.

Why a complicated lego set , Really i dont get it ? i would have just brought the new city harbour set and played island port

Ive resized all the pics so now i can get on to making changes to the moc itself . 2) What about scattering some white hands around? Or let one or more of the pirates wear them? They represent the leftovers of the eaten hands (they only eat the meat I presume ). Actually you gave me a good idea i could use white hands for waves because i dont have much in the means of blue and white pannels 3) Some small things I don't like: the blood under the beach-skeleton looks unrealistic. Also, the skeleton hanging down still wears his hat...is it glued to his head ? I will fix that soon , would it be alright if i replaced the hat with long hair or mabye a vine growing out of his skull . im going to replace the red peice with a sand colored version 1/ where the water meet the shore, it looks messy sometimes ( the tiles at the right, why aren't they along the beach ? ) just readjust it ^^ now that i looked at it more it does look a little messy. i can fix that soon ,do you think i should replace the white pannels with white hands for better waves?? 2/ remove the little rock that Hide the pathway between the docks and their "live place" , I think it'll look better without it^^ I kinda like it actually it gives the pathway a hidden feel to it , i do see waht you mean though. Thanks for the great advice i will make changes to it as soon as possible.

3) The man with the scared head might look even better with both hands in the air. Currently it looks more like he's waving. the man is getting his hand chopped off so he can only use one at the moment. could i edit this moc even though its posted???

Vig. 37b A crew of shipwrecked pirates got bored of gold when they realised it wasn't edible (poor bob hookless was the first to die after eating a gold dagger) .so when they were stuck on the island a small group decided to eat the captain and his first mate .They were suprised how good the captain was that they grew addicted to human flesh. Now instead of gold they seek human hands ! .... crappy story i know the overall view I ask for your hand....but not in marrige. let him hang by the chains , i tryed a new trick using skelly arms on regular minifigs. notice the dagger in the skeloten. A shiny new coin to the person who can guess who that head used to belong to I removed a few parts to this moc so you could see inside the cave, there is a small bed and table , i used a brown jedi cape for a blanket on the bed. This statue is the pirates god they belive it brought them to this small island , they now worship it by eating hands. this is what they mean by finger licking good yumm imperial officer heads and soft hands , bon appetite! A gentleman asked me to add somthing like this to the moc . so what do you think , do any of you have advice or ways to improve it ,i know im not allowed to change the final netry witch this is i just would like to improve my moc. I doubt i will win so they best of luck to the rest of ye pirates EDIT: I listend to most of your very helpful suggestions and you will notice some changes to the overall moc , thanks for the help ! thanks

Last year i found a small harry poter quiditch set containging harry and malfoy the set was from the first wave of harry poter . at the same store i found a few other 2001 sets that were quite old

give me 300.00 dollars and i will help you ,that means your problem is solved and i get beer money ( lego money i mean because lego is my alcohal) yeah sorry i cant really help you but i would consider looking at the side walls and connecting them there ,also you should considor making a 6 wide gap with brown plates and grey beams to give along with short walls on each side

Now these sound like Great sets but im sure lego will mess them up some how ,power miners for example we thought it was gonna be a great theme but lego messed it up and another way lego could mess these up is with the priceing because im no longer intreseted in the pirates theme because of the priceing there. now with my pointless Rant over... The sets sound quite intresting and i wonder if we get some weird lego heads like the ones in spongebob .will this be like many other themes where thes one main bad guy and a bunch of little henchmen ,if so i would love to see some old style blacktron figs or space pirates with sorta mixed clothing like with the regular pirates theme. anyways im going back to my Rabbit hole ( basement )

I'd go for a wet paper towel for walls and snot mocs ,it works pretty well for me but the real question is how do you keep spiders from making webbs on your creations, that plus the dust is afwful to get rid of

And what about us canucks ( canadians) will we get the sets at the same time as the US ? i feel sorry for the Europeans because they will not get the sets as early as we might.

Hey does anyone here know the price of the shipwreck hideout set in canadian dollars, its the only pirate set im really intrested in ( the rest are to babyish oh i can see myself being flogged for that ) im hoping it will be 39.99 $ because then i could afford it unlike any of the other sets .

I also missed out on the westren theme and i would like a remake so i can get some of the peices. But the problem i see is lego would make it shhot the indians and take their land or hang the bandits instead of the happier cowboys in the 90's back then all they had was shoot the bandits and steal the indians land, ah nevermind i guess there really would'nt be much diference after all. possible westeran sets- bandits hideout-54.99 minifigs- 6 figures-4 bandits and 2 cowboys structure -a cave hideout type structure with a trap and falling rocks vehicles- 3 horses and a wagon cowboy salloon-39.99 minifigs -3 cowboys and 1 bandit structure- a modular type building with a top and bottom floor-would be on a 16 by 16 base plate and have tables and a counter along with a piano. vehicles-horses and possibly a wagon

I agree lego bear this set is way to over priced same with all of the pirate sets ,and have you looked at the canadian prices for the late 2008 star wars, 40 dollars for a tiny walker seriously lego needs to get rid of this over pricing and give us geeks a break .doesnt mean this isnt a nice set it just needs more to it lki more landscaping witch lego has neglected. great reveiw lego 12
