Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Legoman123 replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nice one mate, thank you. I would find it strange for Lego to release three sets now but then cancel the DOD sets to be honest. -
If we get something new to do with LOTR it would be nice to see something with the Blue Wizards. There's a lot to be said about them and what they were doing during the events of LOTR. I believe they were somewhere in the East.

I've missed a lot because I have been away and only recently (last couple of days) logged back into eurobricks and it's been so lively on all the other themes so struggling to see what I've missed. Can you just give me a quick run down please for Indi? -
Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

So from what I had read the Indi Temple of Doom set had been cancelled and that's all right? Someone had mentioned that it was due to religion been involved, but I'm not sure how true that is. I do hope that isn't the case because it defiantly gets rid of all hope of a TLC set releasing from the Grail scene. -

If it's UCS it'll most likely be a ship of sort's won't it? If it's not MBS then it's probably unlikely to be a playlet but more of a model that can sit on a shelf but have an interior like the UCS Razor Crest or AT-AT. I know it might seem a bit out there but I think it could be The Ghost with a full interior. We've only ever seen one version of The Ghost and the interior was lacklustre to say the least. -

I do hope this breathes new life into the Batman theme though as I'm still holding out for a $500+ Arkham Asylum, it's the only way to do that set some real justice. -

What was the last MBS set we actually got? It feels like such a long time ago I can’t even remember. I think Geonosis Arena would do well at this price but a Jedi Temple would need to be MBS. -

Given the price point I’d be very surprised if it’s anything but comic based. There’s a lot of interior detail they can take from comic inspiration. Personally I’m hoping for a large trophy room with Easter eggs for all his foes. Then (if it is fully enclosed) space on top for a Wayne Manor set in the future. -

I’m assuming this is translated and the ‘trap door’ is actually the arrows that shoot out from the side of the wall? -

Okay thank you. I didn’t think to check the first page apologies. I take it then that the expected D2C Knight Bus is in fact a microscale Hogwarts then? -

Are we still waiting on confirmation for one of the larger HP sets or two of them? I can’t quite remember what we are still waiting on. -

Any speculation on what the UCS set will be? I can’t see it been Endor Bunker or Ewok Village as they’d make more sense as a MBS not UCS. Are we sure that the Yavin IV base is $159? I just feel that price is too little for what Yavin IV should be. Also wasn’t there a rumoured list going around suggesting we were getting a Sandcrawler and Sail Barge in the summer wave? -

Well the Tower makes the most sense then, or maybe a Helicarrier? I just hope the X-Mansion (when released) is a lot different to the one we were shown as that looked very underwhelming. -
What would you change if you don't mind me asking?

How do we know it’s not the X-Mansion? -
What’s the difference? It’s still labeled as LOTR and packaged as that isn’t it? Also the description said LOTR sets so surely we can expect more. Or as you say it’s just a rumour now regrading Barad-dur but it does make sense if they release it as it would still be under ICONS and cover the description that was out out about LOTR in general.

The new Rivendell set is truly remarkable, even going of the leaked images I thought it would be something special but not to this extent, having such an amazing exterior whilst also capturing a very good interior for what I think is at good price (especially when you look at the cost of SW & other themes) is so hard to do. Getting the entire fellowship in a single set makes it all the better as well. One thing I think sells it more than most sets (other than the obvious detail and architecture) is that it's all built onto one big platform. What I mean by that is that usually we get a building that just stands on its own but with this it really feels like Rivendell, like you can walk from one building to the other. That is defiantly a feature than needed to be included with Rivendell as it's very much about the ascetic look. If I had one issue with it then it would be to just make it bigger and give us one or two more buildings just to expand Rivendell. I'd of happily paid more for that. Having said that I do imagine if we are to get more sets then we may get a small expansion potentially for this set. Also are the rumours true that Barad-dur will release this year or was that just speculation?

I really don't see how a Bat cave can be justified at this price, at least not when there are many better options for that price point. I am actually disappointed that it's another Batcave (all be it a big one) I'd much rather of had a Wayne Manor or even better an Arkham Asylum. Imo AA hasn't been done real justice yet and the only way it can be is by having a set of this scale for it. However given the scale of this set and the fact that it's going to be fully enclosable makes me think we will eventually get a D2C Wayne Manor to accompany the Bat cave to sit on top. On a more positive note it is nice for fresh Batman sets and I'm sure this will give us characters we have never seen before. Personally I'd love to see Black Mask, The Ventriloquist & Mad Hatter, I'd say they are the most famous/popular villains that have still not yet made an appearance in Lego form. It'd be nice to get a Deathstroke with a removable helmet as well. Do we know if this set is going to be based off of the comic books or not? -
Oh dear I didn't check my spelling, everyone's got to listen to their mom though...even Sauron. Well thanks for showing me that moc, now my expectations are far too high and I'm going to end up disappointed by the official version.

Do we have any news on the Batman sets releasing this year? -
It's the best of both worlds, the good thing is we don't really know what the interior was like in Barad-dur and from what I've seen there is no description of the interior either, unless you know otherwise?? Also can you tell me where I can find the Barad-dur mom that you did?

It doesn't surprise me that Lego have decided to do a D2C Burrow given how popular it has been in 2010 and 2020. I actually think it's a good idea as we will finally get not only a screen accurate exterior but the same for the interior to. We'll be able to get rooms for all the kids and even the room from the beginning of Goblet of Fire. EDIT: I have to say though I think a 12 Grimmauld Place as a D2C would have been a much better idea or even Lovegood House. -
Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Since Lego started making Marvel Lego I have always wanted an X-Mansion but this just seems incomplete. The exterior is very lazy so I can only imagine that the interior will follow suit. See all I wanted was a version like the Lego Ideas set. That was perfect as the detail on both the exterior and interior was incredible along with including the underground section and having a fully enclosable building like the Ghostbusters HQ. For anyone who hasn't seen this and doesn't know what I am talking about here's the link. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/88bdd125-2c99-4fd7-8537-9bceccd10aef -

I suppose we can't get our hopes up too much about these sets releasing as something similar happened when everyone saw the Yavin base in that leaked designer photo. I imagine we would get a skiff and Rancor as well to be honest. I suppose they could be fake but how would you explain the Rivendell? I mean we know that's coming in the next couple of months so the reveal will be any day really. If he really wanted to fool us then surely they wouldn't create a fake set that would be revealed so close to these leaks. -
That is true but an interior like Orthanc would work well. Obviosly the rooms wouldn't match up to wear they are in reality but given three rooms are confirmed (dungeon, armoury, chamber) then i'dsay its a safe bet it's similar to Orthanc. I know the walls sorrowing the tower will be microscale but I think even behind the bottom section there will be an interior but obviously it would in no way make any sense for it to be there in reality but in fact just for playability. Do we know what the interior of Rivendell entails? I'm assuming the roof area on the main building has an interior? Last question but is there any info out there on the internet that shows or describes what the interior to Barad-dur includes?
