LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Legoman123 replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Aren't all the post ROTJ series setting up for a huge series where everyone is all together or something? I'm sure I read that somewhere, kind of how marvel did with the Avengers just on a larger scale. -
Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Legoman123 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I know the Magical Menagerie is a long shot but it is at the studio I believe so it is relatively known. I think they wouldn't serve you because you're a muggle. Honestly I can't stand the moments sets and I was very disappointed to see the new house banner versions with common rooms as the interior because it just takes away the opportunity to make them to fit into the Hogwarts Castle which would be the better option Imo. Speaking of, do you think this version of Hogwarts will carry on or reset again? -
Very true, but what an odd thing to do to bring back a licence for 2 brickheadz and a D2C. Personally I think the licence will be back with more as we have The Rings of Power show with five seasons confirmed.

I read that as well, it'll be more for winter 2024 sets than summer 2023 sets. On another note, how long do you think this style of Hogwarts Castle will continue before they reset it again? -
That makes sense I guess, to be honest I never paid this theme any attention when I found out that it wasn't going to have minifigures in it, but here's hoping my mind is changed soon.
-
True, they do work at system scale but I just think they would work so much better at a D2C level, but I suppose that could be said for any Lego set in reality. I think they could do the Golden Hall with relative ease and have a solid interior and exterior for that set to. You are one of the lucky ones, I never got to pick up the Tower of Orthanc so for me Barad-dur is actually at the top of my list. I feel given the way Rings of Power is going that we will see Barad-dur as it will probably play a big part in future seasons. Speaking of, how long do you think this theme will run for, and do you think we will in fact get system scale sets? I think just the way lord of the rings is having d2c's for the sets I mentioned would work well because of the architecture on the inside and out, but I know in my head that this is just wishful thinking as Lego are never going to do that unless the theme carries on like SW, which is highly unlikely.

Wow that is sad, Lego really must want to keep things under the radar then. I remember back in the day when the most exiting thing was NYTF and The Brickshow doing mini reviews of all the summer sets that would be releasing. I miss that. -

Brilliant, I'll take a look! That actually sounds quite interesting but not the usual style, I am surprised I haven't heard about it as I am a huge SW fan. It seems to be a different approach than the usual though. Okay, that makes sense then. I mean for me it has been the most anticipated series since it's announcement and it has so much potential. Getting to see both the Sith and Jedi in live action pre ROTS excites me so much. Just having the Jedi at the height of their power with numbers behind them and the Jedi Temple will be awesome to see again. Maybe we'll even get a new lightsaber colour who knows. -

That's a real shame. I wasn't expecting to see images but I would of at least thought we'd get descriptions. I guess I lost track of time after covid because I though we were getting descriptions in 2020 still. -
What do you think the reason is for not doing them, or even doing a CMF? Surely Lego knows how well they would sell.
-
The only problem with this theme is that so many of the sets deserve to be D2C's that it's just not doable. I mean there is Bag End, Tower of Orthanc, Rivendell, Barad-dur, Helms Deep, Golden Hall, Minas Tirith. That's just to name the main ones really, without even bringing the Hobbit or series into it. I'm sure there is a lot more. On another note if LOTR is here to stay I would like to see Radagast the Brown's house, that could most definitely be done at system scale. I am also praying that Rivendell is minifigure scale,

Where are you looking to see a list of all the Star Wars sets for this year? I could not see it on the first page. For me if the rumour about the Ghost returning to the Ashoka series is true then I would love to see The Ghost get done justice, for me the lack of interior of the first one was extremely disappointing, I think either a large D2C or an UCS like the Razor Crest is the only way to do that ship justice on both the exterior and interior. Not to mention that it would need to be able to dock the smaller ship (I forget the name) to the back of it. I do not know what the Skeleton Crew is, but I was under the impression that Star Wars Acolyte was releasing this year? -
Exactly, surely it can't be said that Futurama is worse than Stranger Things. As long as nobody else has the licence I don't see why not.

I think Lego will be missing a trick if they do not do at least one more wave of sets. Potentially with a December 2023 release would be perfect. Maybe another three sets from each movie, for me I think we need to see KOTCS sets and defiantly a TLC set based on the Holy Grail. -

Well Lego is returning to London Toy fair so hopefully we can find something out there. It starts on the 23rd. Regarding Diagon Alley I feel we need to see the Leaky Cauldron, Knockturn Alley, Borgin and Burkes and Gringotts. On a personal note I would like to see the Magical Menagerie (pet shop). -
Is a lot of rumour surrounding potential minifigure release this year then? Personally I hope so as this would interest me in collecting this theme. EDIT: I would hope to get a Bowser Jr.

Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Legoman123 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think a lot of people do not understand what a modular actually is, I have to say initially I didn't so it is very easy to just assume it's a large detailed display piece. Personally if we are getting a Marvel D2C this year I do hope it is something with a good interior as well as exterior. Obviously I would love X-Mansion but I don't see that happening yet (even though it did reach 10000 votes on cuusoo) but something like Avengers Tower or even a Helicarrier with interior could work really well. -

Having a D2C Knight bus would be awesome. Just last year I was thinking how good and necessary that would be. We can actually have a full scale interior on every level then. -
So is this the year we finally get minifigures for the Mario Theme?

I think if Lego decide to do the Ghost ship again, which would make a lot of sense then it needs to be an UCS version with a full interior like the Razor Crest. -

I really thought the CMF series would give us X-Men characters to be honest. -
DC Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Legoman123 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
DC has so much potential and Lego do nothing with it. It’s arguably the best theme for potential Location builds and we never get anything from them. -
Are we expecting Rivendell to be minifigure scale? Personally I really hope it is but I don’t think it will be.

Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Well if we don’t know what the 18+ set is I’d think it could be TLC set. The wonder of the world in Petra. It’d double up well for a real world location as well and give us a coupe of minifgures we have never seen before. -

Have they said they are skipping KOTCS? Personally I think we’ll just get sets based on that the year after.
