  2. Yeah, I like how people take "lazy" and apply it to whatever they don't like. The Ben 10 sets, for example, were almost exclusively new molds but I saw it get the "lazy" label from someone because they didn't like them. And probably because they were sore about BIONICLE ending.
  3. Considering all the 222x numbers are from 1990s DUPLO sets, I'm more than a little skeptical.
  4. I know the section you're talking about, but it looks like they're either what Aanchir said, two 2x2 jumper plates at a funny angle, or they're four 2x2 jumpers on four of the usual 1x2 hinge brick (maybe with the 2x2 hinge plate on the top) also at a funny angle.
  5. I've said before that I doubt it, as the helmetfaces attach to the top of a flat armor piece. The hero heads have a sort of well in them, meaning that the pegs on the facehelmets probably won't be able to reach the holes. THe hero helmets should be able to attach to the armor pieces, though.
  6. No wonder the Black Pearl costs less than the QAR.
  7. Well that's a bummer, because it means Octocrab won't have any teeth in his mouth.
  8. Nex has the smaller torso too, just for reference.
  9. Is the Hazmat Guy's visor removable, or is it attached more-or-less permanently?
  10. I think it's just what I thought I saw in the first pics vs. what I see in the high res pics. I didn't notice the "heel spikes" or whatever they are at first so they sort of look out of place to me now. Of course, that's not to say it's a bad set, I just don't think it's quite as good as the others in this line.
  11. Some time after 2005 the Hordika neck mold was changed to have a small hole in one side of the ball, and the Glatorian neck has the same thing. The wave 1 Hero Factory torso also had a tiny hole in each ball, and the Hordika lower legs had one on the ball that attached to the foot, though I don't know if the intended purpose was the same.
  12. Probably just some kind of adhesive stuff they use to keep the set planted, like they do at some toy fairs. Anyway the tripod is my least favorite AC set, because I think the leg design clashes with the smooth UFO aesthetic. And their placement is off-center, something which usually bothers me. But that's just me.
  13. So the minifigure parts are not glued together, correct? Only the legs to the brick, leaving the rest able to be salvaged? If so, excellent. I can use Crabby's with Octoman's tentacle legs. (I got Ock from the replacement parts page of the LEGO site [and paid for him, of course, I would never steal from LEGO <3] but the tentacle head cover wasn't available so he just has his angry head and with Crabby I can make a cooler figure anyway.)
  14. If you quickly move your mouse across all three animations, it looks like Nex and Hipjaw are about to fight.
  15. Hey Front, I know you can't talk about unreleased info, but can you tell me/us if Rocka's gold is consistent with recent gold pieces, like the Stars gold extras?
  16. I still don't understand how a set having some small easily-removable addition makes people not want to buy it. If it was missing something, sure, I get that. But it's LEGO, so you can just take off the parts you don't like. I don't think the extras on the back look that good either. However, they are built almost entirely out of new or useful pieces, pieces that can be taken off and used without dismantling the set. So really it's more of a reason to buy the set for me. :|
  17. Fortunately, it looks like it's going to be easy to strip all the extra stuff off and use it to upgrade other heroes. Which is my exact plan. Anyway, anyone else think Furno 3.0 should've used Hahli Mahri wings instead of those new blades? Then they could've given him a new weapon to offset the reuse.
  18. I think the greatest piece ever aka bottom center has the ball attached to his head and what you're seeing is the socket from the neck. Of course, now that I think about it, there could be a second greatest piece ever aka bottom center attached to that which then attaches to a limb piece attached by an Av-connector. so MYTH BUSTED Or confirmed or something. At any rate, he's got a limb as a second spine and it's attached by an Av-connector.
  19. They look white when compared to other white-looking pieces in the images, and, given Rocka's color scheme, white seems to be the more likely option. I can't see how Rawj's armor is connected, but here you can see his neck attached by a piece that sloped down into the torso. So there may be a new pin+ball piece, I dunno. Anyway, time to fawn over the pieces I see in RXL: 5x gunmetal Hero Under-armor piece 4x gunmetal new small armor piece with clip 8x silver new large curved blade 7x silver new small straight blade 7x gold medium Hero limb armor 6x silver Exo-Force robot arm (hey, they're useful) 8x black straight ball connector (aka Glatorian neck) 2x gold new large Hero claw connector/shield style A 2x black new large Hero claw connector/shield style B 2x red ball with through axle hole 3x black greatest piece ever (aka 3L ball/socket combination) (aka bottom center) and of course numerous bone pieces, the white head and core, black hand, etc.
  20. New part! New part! <3 Also, Witch Doctor looks bare and jumbled from the back, but damn he'd make a great parts pack. How many red single ball joints does he have? 20? And he totally has that digitigrade thing going for him. Also Rocka XL has some white bone pieces. And some entirely unnecessary pieces on his back just ripe for the scrappening. Definitely on my buy list.
  21. Thornax launchers edge out Rhotuka launchers because things shot from Thornax launchers don't have a tendency to get stuck on top of tall shelves. Or roofs. Or trees.
  22. Oh, so the cyborg guy is a pirate. Cyborg alien pirate monsters for the win!
  23. Well that's a bit of a letdown. But then again it's another $150+ that I don't have to spend.
  24. I don't see how the handle is a reason not to get it. It's useful for playing, and if you think it's unsightly then you can remove most of it quite easily. Price I can understand. Handle, not so much.
  25. On RXL's box, it shows him with double ankle articulation. On the physical set, the setup is the same as Flord. No extra articulation. why lego why ;__; He's still got the great claws and black hand and stuff, and I still want him, but that's a nice feature and several gone right there.
