Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Bundalings replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I have the second largest UFO set, and the only trans parts on the minifigs are the heads. Oh gosh, I love this! Oh gosh, I hate this. WHY LEGO, are you so picky about guns and human violence, when you think it's just fine to go to Mars, capture the local sentients, AND THEN STICK A FREAKING TUBE INTO THEIR BODIES TO POWER THE FREAKING VEHICLES. That is SO wrong. And now their stealing the poor rock golems food sources? That's just sad. ;_; ~Bunda Edit: Mini rant exploded, oops. :P Anyway, love the golems and the human's helmets. Gonna have to get some of those... -
... Well that seems a little excessive. ~Bunda

When did he say he designed a set? ~Bunda

Greg said there may be a scene of Mata Nui being built in the 2009 movie. This suggests he was built on Bara Magna. The Vahki leg helps this theory as well... maybe Bara Magna is or was like a manufacturing world? When do you hear it? Anyway, the movie was cool, and I find Mata Nui's appearance suitable. The head especially, as it resembles the Mata heads... ~Bunda

I dunno... *goes to look* In the prelim-prelim pics it's grey, but a lot of other things have changed since then, sooo... ~Bunda
-
Or it could just be a trick of the CG-light. =/ ~Bunda

BLAAAAAAAAAACK HOOOOOOOOOORDIIIIIIKAAAAAAAA BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAINS! ~Bunda
-
Where did this come from? ~Bunda Edit: OH GOODNESS ARE THOSE BLACK HORDIKA NECKS ON HIS HIPS? OHYESOHYESOHYES Or maybe it's the possibly-new neckpiece? Edit2: There are some under his arms! Eeeeeeek!

Oooh... Sand, maybe? ~Bunda
-
I think he was always on the planet. ... Must have been boring. ~Bunda
-
That's what we've been saying. >_> I don't have Matoro personally, so I can't compare, but does that mask look a bit... off? ~Bunda
-
Maybe there was a "Find the Golem" activity in the Brickmaster? Or maybe just a sneak preview. to both. ~Bunda

Explain further? ~Bunda

It's like Animal Farm all over again! D= Welcome anyway. =P ~Bunda
-
But the 2008 topic is booooring. =P The only thing I like about the Mata Nui as-seen in the comic is the head... which is the only part that looks ancient and awesome. ~Bunda

"bar-uh mag-nuh" =P ~Bunda Edit: To the above poster: EPIC FAIL

Cloud? iAgree I don't think that's a dung beetle, is it? It's one of them... uh... rhinoceros beetles. Or are they the same thing? XD Hey look news! (but not really, just wanted to point out the oddness) O_o I guess Greg isn't lying when he says he doesn't pay attention to sets. Because if that's not an Inika... uh... clones! (but I still think it's a placeholder) (but if it isn't, 2009 just lost the game) ~Bunda
-
That's a biiiig Vahki... and Matoro? I guess he's just a placeholder-ish thing, if they don't wanna give away the 2009 sets. Seriously digging the art direction. Unless Mata Nui looks like Matoro. =P ~Bunda

Guys, the Glatorian and small sets share the same head, and it is not an Av Matoran head. Av Matoran heads are very, very long. The Glatorian heads aren't very tall. And they have patterns around the mouth region. Believe me, I'm quite good at distinguishing things from pics, and I'm positive these aren't Av Matoran heads. BTW, all of their "masks" attach from the top, not just those select few. You can see the indentions on the tops of all their heads. ~Bunda
-
They don't. The Av Matoran heads are very long, much longer than the heads on the 2009 small sets are tall. And they for sure aren't oriented the Av Matoran way... More likely they have the same heads as the Glatorian, 'cause they look very similar... ~Bunda

I don't know where you learned your English but most people don't use curses after every sentence. >_> ~Bunda

This has been mentioned several times. Vorox also has the counter on his foot. Ummm... pretty positive those are new parts. Look at the texture. The length is also too great on the Av Matoran heads. 'Cause he has a sucky tail and legs. ~Bunda Edit: Actually they are the same... different colors, yes, but the same mold. It's a long scene, spread throughout the book. Why don't you just go buy the thing for yourself?

Something I find strange is the lack of life counter pics on the cans and boxes that I thought were there before. This makes me think these aren't the final, final boxarts. Dunno though. ~Bunda

Oh! OH! I get a prize! I get a sticker! Look closely at the pic of Strakk: Under the Inika armor, you can see a little blue 1-long-pin-with-stud snapped into the Metru hips that keeps the Inika armor from flopping about! Hooray! I was right about how to build Strakk, and how Lego was gonna fix the floppy Inika armor... I feel so smart. ^_^ ~Bunda
