  1. thanks joe - I was going for a 2nd (troughton) doctor feel - tomb of the cybermen... i to like the way the square hole on the back of the Tardis brick gives the impression of window and door. for a first go at a mini build am pleased with the result! i'm enjoying having challenges to build, as I find it hard to think up original moc's at present, as i'm new to the hobby!
  2. no matter how hard i try, something ends up rattling up the vacuum hose...
  3. thanks guys, the driller is the star as I was originally thinking of an off world mine - so the Tardis was almost an afterthought. my kids are Who fans though, so insisted it be added! the curved yellow brick is a part i found in a farm kit, a grey version is on the side if the mining facility.
  4. I'm new to building MOCs and this is my first ever mini MOC; to go along with the MSFC here. I chose one of my favourite sci-fi shows, Doctor Who - the story unfolds as follows: The TARDIS materialises over the rocky cliffs of Ganymede, where the human workers of Mining Outpost 617 are hard at work. A heavy driller trundles off over the surface of Jupiter's moon, hoping to find a rich source of ore. But what has bought the Doctor to this cold, desolate place? What waits for him under the surface of the moon? Only time will tell. Lucky for him, time is something the Doctor is only too familiar with... 5. I've added a close up pic of the old Han and Leia minifigs, complete with description of their attire. I've also added descriptions of the other photos to give more of a sense of what is happening in each picture.
  6. I think she'd be happier with marvel superheroes rather than 'Friends'... which i shouldn't have a problem with!
  7. huge fan of Hitchhiker's, love this! 'they hung in the air in much the same way as [Lego] bricks don't'
  8. HI, I'm a new member, and new builder! I had some spare time in between jobs and have recently became familiar with MOCs. I saw the Star Wars related Comp here and thought it was a great way of trying out how I could do a Lego MOC. My first ever vignette was built for the comp, and I really enjoyed it! Am now looking at trying my hand at some of the other sci-fi comps here at Eurobricks this month - it's a new passion. My wife will hate me for buying more Lego and cluttering up the shelves I'm sure!
  9. Thanks, I had a lot of fun making this, and look forward to doing more in future. I think I have caught the MOC bug!
  10. Thanks, have taken some different pics. I think they're a little better. Thanks for letting me know which category, it is a little confusing!
  11. Here is my take on the Future of Star Wars: Star Wars - Episode VII 'Twilight Dawning' In this scene, Han Solo & Princess Leia Organa-Solo have chased down a new Bounty Hunter, Kal Durusk, into a small subsidary section of Bespin's Cloud City. Kal has the plans to a new weapon that will make life difficult for the Skywalkers...problem is Han and Leia are getting a little long in the tooth, and Kal looks to be escaping! Han pauses to catch his breath, and leans hard on his walking stick. He faces camera and breaking the fourth wall states,"We're Getting Too Old For This, Your Worshipfulness", while Leia attempts to focus her blaster rifle on the fleeing Bounty Hunter, only to have to pause to rearrange her glasses on her nose. Will the old Rebels manage to capture the Bounty Hunter? Or will they realise that their twilight years are upon them, and give it up in order to spend more time with the grandchildren... We're Getting Too Old For This, Your Worshipfulness 1 by mjfirefly, on Flickr This pic shows the vignette as first built, Kal's blaster can be seen poking out to one side! Please, also note the Clone Trooper helmet. Han has a walking stick in one hand and blaster in the other, while Leia is in her most comfortable robe. Notice that Han has gone grey, and both the old Rebels need spectacles now... We're Getting Too Old For This, Your Worshipfulness 2 by mjfirefly, on Flickr A closer look at the old Rebels, with Kal Durusk making a swift getaway. The clouds of Bespin can be seen out through the pressurised window. We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Elderly Han & Leia 2 by mjfirefly, on Flickr A closer look at Han and Leia, a little vaseline over the lens to hide the wrinkles... Leia is dressed in her most comfortable robe (following the fashions of the over 70s on Coruscant) and has favoured her original 'bagel' buns hairstyle - for ease of tying her hair back in her older years. Han is in his favourite black trousers and comfortable shirt - an old Rebel 'Endor' jacket completing the ensemble. He holds tightly to his walking stick, this fashioned from the tree that his dear departed Wookiee friend Chewbacca lived in on Kashyyyk, to always keep him close. More pics here:
