  1. I remember the heavy criticism that Brick Bank faced when it was released and now it is a highly sought after set in the aftermarket. Even the beloved Parisian Restaurant faced criticism with the stairs that went nowhere when the first images leaked. Every modular faces criticism and my response is simple,: if you don't like it, don't buy it. If you want to adjust the model to suit your needs, so be it. Regardless, I will be buying this set likely on day one....January 1st is a big day in my house! I feel the same as you, the builds include a wide array of pieces and the interiors are far more detailed than the original first few which were bare bones on the inside. The design of the jazz club seems to be linked closely to the original few modulars and that is fine by me.
  2. I guess the bottom line is whether Lego makes a significant profit from the program. I do wonder if the higher prices indicates a wider profit margin. The larger sets in the third round which many believed would not reach the production threshold or sell out, seemed to have gone quite quickly. Clearly the demand was there.
  3. I received the same e-mail (also in North America) for the two sets I supported in round two. I am hoping Lego ironed out some of the kinks and the sets are shipped on time but am expecting delays with pandemic related issues and the like. The world seems to be a much different place than it was a few years ago and I will remain patient!
  4. Although the prices are high in round three, I am looking forward to supporting Studgate Station and the Modular Construction site.
  5. This was a lot more difficult than I expected it to be! 1.) 6399 - Airport Shuttle - This set came out as I was just entering my dark ages. It is a simple design but great fun to build and I love watching my kids enjoy this set now. 2.) 10219 - Maersk Train - Being a lover of all things trains, this set is an outstanding design and makes me wish that Lego would offer more of the same in terms of trains. 3.) 21322 - Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay - This one is all about childhood nostalgia (Pirates!) 4.) 10228 - Monster Fighters Haunted House - A great set, the colours, little details, the entire set is just fantastic. 5.) 70620 - Ninjago City - A large and very well designed and colourful set, like nothing else in my collection. 6.) 21310 - Ideas Old Fishing Store - Another set filled with intricate details and a wonderful design. 7.) 21301- Ideas Birds - A very unique set that I find myself displaying on my desk. A great little, well designed set. 8.) 75827 - Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters - Childhood nostalgia x 2 (Fav. movie when I was a kid) 9.) 10193 - Medieval Market Village - Childhood nostalgia x 3 (Castle!) 10.) 40487 - Sailboat Adventure Honourable mentions: #4554 Metro Station, #10001 Metroliner, #10185 Green Grocer, #10210 Imperial Flagship, #10244 Fairground Mixer.
  6. Has Bricklink announced when round three will take place?
  7. My orders are on the way....tracking says here in a few days.
  8. I do wonder if any logistical issues that have occurred may make Lego think twice about running another BL Designer program in the future?
  9. Delays aren't a big deal to me...it will arrive when it arrives. We remain in the middle of a global pandemic after all.
  10. I am all-in on the train station, winter chalet and modular construction site. The train station is a must support for me but I am an unabashed train fan.
  11. I am in full agreement with your comment. I built the BH over the weekend and it was a great build. Some of the techniques are amazing the colours are definitely different but fit well with this design. I think this is in my top five modulars in terms of overall design/look with the GG, GE, PR and AS.
  12. I agree, I think it looks amazing. Day 1 purchase for me.
  13. I feel like an elevator instead of stairs may have allowed for a bit more space to add at least a shared bathroom on the second floor. Maybe it is just wishful thinking...
  14. Not sure about you, but I am getting antsy...
  15. Yes it has been down for me for the past few days. I was trying to enter the million points giveaway each day without success.
  16. That sounds about right. It was revealed at the end of some online event was it not?
  17. We must be getting close to an official announcement about the next modular soon?
  18. I wonder if the seagulls will remain for the time being? It looks like they are in the Venetian Houses set from the Bricklink Designer Program? https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/designer-sets-for-adult-fans-of-lego/215680/Venetian-Houses
  19. Interesting. I just called Lego customer service and was told that GWP do not count as purchases made through Bricklink (an "affiliate of Lego) do not count in order to receive the GWP. Maybe it just depends on the CS rep. you get on the phone?
  20. Is it too early to discuss favourites in round three? Are there standouts for anyone? For me, it is the Train Station and the Modular Construction site.
  21. It is too bad I did not see this earlier, it would have swayed my decision-making.
  22. If the Muppet rumours are true my twelve would be: 1.) Kermit 2.) Miss Piggy 3.) Fozzie Bear 4.) Animal 5.) Beaker 6.) Gonzo (w/Rizzo the Rat) 7.) Swedish Chef 8.) Waldorf 9.) Statler 10.) Rowlf the Dog 11.) Sam Eagle 12.) Bunsen Honeydew
  23. I think I will vote for the Windmill and Brickwest Studios this round and Studgate Station (Studgate and Castle in the Forest are my favourites) and the Modular construction site in round three.
  24. I don't have much to add aside from another compliment....what a stunning build that I would love to see in my city.
  25. Agreed, these are all great choices. I feel like a well designed large school similar in size to Assembly Square could have much potential to tell great stories.
