  1. I can honestly say I have never had a problem with Lego customer service.I have received a few damaged boxes and Lego either replaced the set (a SW UCS set) or provided me with a few thousand free points for damaged boxes where my kids opened the sets anyway. I recently placed a large PAB order once standard pieces were made available and half of my best seller portion of the order was missing completely (over 300 hundred pieces). Lego customer service was fantastic and sent the missing pieces to me without hesitation within ten days. I will gladly pay a bit more for parts/sets if I alwats receive great customer service.
  2. I really like the look of the mine set and eventually pulled the trigger on the Art Factory for the exact reasons that you noted. The playability and the little details really stood out for me. As for series 7, I am eyeing the Privateer Frigate and maybe the sushi shop although I would like to see a more detailed review of each before committing. Series 8 is a banger of a series for me with the locomotive, Dustmark Keep and the hot air balloon piquing my interest. Maybe the university would climb into the top three but I would have to take a close look at it.
  3. 100% in agreement with this. I think I only loved one or two submissions. Too much repetition.
  4. I was only interested in the train this round but the Siege Encampment has grown on me a bit.
  5. I think I will pick up the train and then save my money for round five. Looking at you Thieves of Tortuga and Adventure in Transylvania!
  6. It looks great. No complaints from me.
  7. Old Town, Carpenter's Shop, Old English Townhouse, Village Square, Terraced Houses & Umbrella Store.
  8. I read elsewhere it is a mock-up based on the description.
  9. Green Grocer was my first and holds a soft spot in my heart but Brick Bank, Boutique Hotel, Parisian Restaurant and Assembly Square are great!
  10. The instructions are on Rebrickable....I have been saving up parts to build this set sooner rather than later. It looks fantastic! https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-164038/Rich_Herbert/hardware-store-and-apartment-renovation/#details
  11. If these sets do not make it to production through Ideas I would love to see them come to fruition through the BDP. The General Store is a great set IMHO.
  12. I prefer the older modulars but I am an older collector that has seen designs become more advanced since I was a kid in the 80s and as such, the originals hold a special space in my heart. That being said, I have no issue with the newer modulars and am especially enamour ed with Boutique Hotel, Jazz Club and the Bookshop. Design features and vibrant colours make them pop. If I had to choose one of the newer ones, I would have to go with the Boutique Hotel. Who am I kidding, I love them all!
  13. Are they not offering double or triple the amount of sets that are being produced compared to the last go round? I don't feel that rush to purchase this round than in previous rounds but I may jump in early because the castle stands out for me.
  14. There is a new photo of the train floating around leak sites....looks better to me.
  15. Looks like Lego reverted back to the March calendar to avoid showing the OE.
  16. 100% agree. The last three rounds of rejected Ideas sets are much better than anything being voted on IMHO.
  17. I caved and bought tonight online. I really wanted the Blacktron GWP and will probably snag the Pizza Van if it is not tied a modular specific purchase.
  18. I remember the heavy criticism that Brick Bank faced when it was released and now it is a highly sought after set in the aftermarket. Even the beloved Parisian Restaurant faced criticism with the stairs that went nowhere when the first images leaked. Every modular faces criticism and my response is simple,: if you don't like it, don't buy it. If you want to adjust the model to suit your needs, so be it. Regardless, I will be buying this set likely on day one....January 1st is a big day in my house! I feel the same as you, the builds include a wide array of pieces and the interiors are far more detailed than the original first few which were bare bones on the inside. The design of the jazz club seems to be linked closely to the original few modulars and that is fine by me.
  19. I guess the bottom line is whether Lego makes a significant profit from the program. I do wonder if the higher prices indicates a wider profit margin. The larger sets in the third round which many believed would not reach the production threshold or sell out, seemed to have gone quite quickly. Clearly the demand was there.
  20. I received the same e-mail (also in North America) for the two sets I supported in round two. I am hoping Lego ironed out some of the kinks and the sets are shipped on time but am expecting delays with pandemic related issues and the like. The world seems to be a much different place than it was a few years ago and I will remain patient!
