*Picks up the match book and uses it to light a torch in the hand of one of the statues. Then uses this torch to light the other torches in this room (conserving matches just in case) before returning it to the hand of the statue. Looks around waiting to hear the Zelda puzzle completion noise*

I would like to investigate one of those X tiles. I'll start with the brown one two to the right of center of the main altar. If the tile is loose in any way I'd like to see what's under it, otherwise I'd like to stand on it until someone has a better idea.

*Blocks Quentin's ascent so he doesn't kill himself on the scaffolding* Everyone stay away from the scaffolding! You can grope the floor and statues as much as you'd like, but please don't do anything that clearly endangers yourself or the rest of the tour. Otherwise I might have to use this tranquilizer gun on you. Do I make myself clear?

*Gets a better look at the black carvings / weird animal skeletons that are hanging over the archways with the torch-holding statues (entrances to the libraries?). Looks for any differences between the two of them* Hey Willoughby! Tell us about those black things on the wall. *Mumbles about people who don't know how to do their job. The word "pee-pot" is heard very distinctly.*

I agree that the slow pace is nice. That way, even if I have a busy night, I can still catch up the next day and be able to add to the mystery-solving effort. -
See pages hired fast sword _ _ _ | _ _ _ _ | _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ | _ _ | _ _ _ _ _ Has anyone had any luck with the anagram? I came up with a list of 8 letter words that seem like likely candidates for the third word, maybe this will spark some ideas? Personally, I think the kid should get to hold on to the gem. The old guy's carrying around the copper ring and key and the other guy's got the silver, the kid can be our gem carrier. I guess we should get to work on the anagram...

*Looks through the archways to the left and right* I have to make sure there are no jaguars sneaking up on us.

Please refrain from sodomizing the minor.

SILVER SAVES THE SOUL!! Bam! :does a victory dance: Geez, I'm just the security guard, shouldn'y you tourists be more invested in figuring this out?

Did anyone check to make sure there's nothing written on the back of the parchment. Who has it? In the meantime I'll go investigate the first arch on the right side of the entrance. It looks like there might be a hole there.

Let me know what you think! If you haven't seen it already, you may want to watch the Pro-Green commercial I did before

Oh man, this game is going to devour my life. I can't wait.

There are also a set of strange animal tracks leading into the jungle, maybe someone wandered away from their tour group and got eaten by a jaguar.

Well one anagram is VETO SILVER SLASH USE. So maybe we shouldn't go swinging it around... I'd confiscate it but the equipment locker is already pretty crowded with all the knives, so I don't know that it would even fit. I'm tempted to let him keep it for now, but maybe I'm just partial to him after we bonded putting those tablets in place. What does everyone else think? (It could also be VOTE (on) SILVER SLASH USE.)
-
Glad we agree on how we're putting them in. Otherwise that could have been confusing.
-
Lets put those put two in with the 1x3 holes touching so the slopes line up with the bottom of the niche. Then maybe we can get a look at the upper part of the niche.
-
Whats on that parchment there? Is that English? Maybe our tour guide can translate? It looks like 2 of those tablets could fit into the bottom of that indentation there. Is there a matching indentation on the other side of the entrance? Maybe if Dieselt is done groping he can help me arrange them.

You umm... do those recreations often? ::shifts rifle around anxiously:: I wouldn't mind seeing some of that willing nubile stuff. Err... after the tour of course. ::Keeps an eye on the group to make sure no one tries to wander off into the DANGEROUS jungle following those animal tracks::

Hmm... No 15 FPS should be fine. That's what I animate at. It just seems like it's playing back at slower than 15 FPS. Yeah, like I said, I don't know, but it may be something the software is doing that you can turn off. Might be automatically compressing the footage or something. I didn't know that about the shutters on digital still cameras, but it makes sense. I guess I should move faster on finding a digital video camera that works for me. I've already taken over 20,000 pictures with this camera and it's still holding strong. I've got this flip video camera I won, which I've used for home videos, but I should probably try using it for animation and see how it works.

Well Devil's Island is a real place. Phasma Diabolus, not so much. -
Nice work Dave! You avoided some of the rookie mistakes (light flicker and camera bumps). The animation was pretty smooth, though it would probably look more natural if you sped it up. What framerate is this? Here are a couple shots of my "studio" (aka my kitchen counter) I also have made do with less than optimal set-ups. It's not easy to see in any of these shots, but the way i keep everything in place is masking tape. It holds well, but it's easy to remove when you're done or if you need to readjust. Also, whenever possible I will connect my camera mount to the set (easy to do since everything's lego ). The graininess I think is coming either from your camera or the software. I'm not familiar with MonkeyJam, so I don't know what sort of import/export settings there are, but that's where my suspicions lie. I don't think it's your lighting. From what I can tell it's pretty good. I actually animate in a unconventional way, I just take pictures with a regular digital still camera and then collate them into a mov file using Quicktime. Then I'll pull the .mov files into Final Cut for editing. It's roundabout and I'm hoping to move to a more direct approach once I can invest in a high-quality firewire camera. Looking forward to your next film!

Upon inspecting the weapons locker it appears that someone had picked the lock. That is why is was able to fly open. I confiscated 8 knifes when we were getting on the bus. There are now only 7 knives in the locker. More than the knife on the loose, I am worried about the fact that someone was picking the lock on the weapons locker. If I take the time to do a pat down of all the tourists we will be thrown very much off schedule and not be able to get to the ruins in time to see the eclipse. And doing a pat down would not necessarily find the knife. There are many hiding spots on the bus and the ferry. However, I thought perhaps I should share the list of people I confiscated knives from at the beginning of the trip. That way anyone who is concerned about getting a knife in the back can keep their eyes open. Chris Owen, Siegourney, Diesel Nolan, Zachary Fortem, Sheldon Wills, Penny Maltese and Tony Peck. Of course, anyone could have taken the knife...

Everybody calm down. There's no demons to worry about, as I said before, the only possible danger is the jaguars and I've got a rifle and a tranquilizer gun to deal with them. But with all the noise our group will be making, I'm sure the jaguars won't come anywhere near. The last thing we need is a bunch of paranoid tourists shooting and stabbing at shadows in the middle of the night. That's how people die.
