I don't think Stanton necessarily scratched that in. I think that it was scratch by the same person/creature who scratched out the stuff relating to the anagram out in front of the ruins. The fact that this has been repeated three times now makes it clear that the gods are trying to tell us something. I don't think we will be able to see the other rooms until we solve this puzzle. *Returns to grand chamber and hopes that others will follow. Manipulates the statues like so: SE Statue: Turns hand so torch points North SW Statue: Lowers arm so torch points East NW Statue: Turns hand so torch points South NE Statue: Lowers arm so torch points West Crosses his fingers*

Well let's not forget that the demon statues have all disappeared. Either they have come to life, or been stolen by some Carmen Sandiego type character while we were investigating the dead stoner. It seems to me that they would probably be pretty hungry if they've been asleep since the last eclipse. Wouldn't take long for a pack of hungry demons to tear the flesh off a body I imagine. *Shivers at the thought* The wilderness survival handbook is probably just a boy scout thing. As for Jack, his body was right below the big ugly demon statue in the grand chamber. Did anyone look up to see if his legs were in the mouth of the statue? Maybe he offended the demon god and got bitten in half. Or maybe it was a clever ruse and he's still the one out there picking us off. He did show quite the interest in Stanton... So maybe this is all demonic, but we've probably got a crazy cultist running around somewhere. Maybe it's someone not part of this group, maybe a local or a crazy relative (Penny's Grandma anyone?) *Snaps one of Stanton ribs off while Richard is looking the other way*
-
Emphasis on relative. We've discovered two bodies in the past 10 minutes. And I still don't think passing out the knives was a good idea... That would be our late companion Jack Baxter... ironic or ominous? You decide!

Everyone stay calm! Just because one of the tour members is dead and the demon statues have come to life, it's no reason to worry. Maybe this is like Scooby Doo and all a trick with mirrors and stuff. Let's all stick together and figure out this damn torch puzzle before we explore the four rooms we haven't visited yet. *Takes one of the lit torches from the grand chamber. Runs back into the guard house and lights those torches. (briefly wonders why there aren't little flames on the lit torches) Pushes the torch that's down up. Runs back to the grand chamber and then returns the torch used to light the others back to it's original spot, so that all 7 torches are lit and in the upright position. Prays that this do something*

Alright everyone, let's go to the grand chamber. There are several rooms we haven't even explored yet.

*Gives Sheldon the revolver* *Gives Sandy the tranq gun* I say we get rid of the knifes. Knives can only invite mayhem.
-
On the issue of weapons, I have two points. 1) We already have one knife on the loose. If we think that one of the members of the tour is an insane cultist trying to sacrifice us all to some demon god, the fewer weapons we have out in circulation the easier it will be to pin down the culprit. 2) If the murders are being committed by demonic forces, these weapons aren't going to do us much good. Instead we should just stick by the guy with the silver sword. That being said, I am going to take my rifle. *Removes rifle from weapons locker and carries it around.* I guess the tranquilizer gun and revolver would be okay to let loose too, but I don't know about the knives. *Gives tranq gun to Sandy* *Holds up revolver* Who wants it? *Checks for a radio on the bus to see if we can radio for assistance* My guess is that we're going to be stranded here for a while, so we should probably head back to the grand chamber and figure out what happened to Jack and maybe solve the remaining puzzles in this room. I have a feeling the only way we're going to get through this is to play along with what ever sick twisted game the big booming voice in the sky has in store for us. You all hear that voice too, right? *Starts heading back into the ruins and motions for the others to follow*
-
*Enters the bus and checks the weapons locker*
-
*Scratches head with rifle* Yeah I don't know how we should kill those vermin. Too bad we don't have a big old shiny sword or anything like that...
-
*Reaches through the window and unlocks the door of the bus. Gets rifle out and cautiously opens door of bus.*
-
*clears away some of the broken glass with his gloved hands so no one cuts themself. Checks Hector's pulse*
-
*Looks inside the 5 big urns* To Zach Too bad you didn't pop the question earlier, we could have had the ferry captain get you hitched. I don't think tour guides have the same powers. *Looks at Johnson's plastic fangs and furry hands* Not that you'd want him to officiate anything.... errr... Congrats! *Returns to looking in each of the urns*
-
*Looks inside the tiny hole on the rock by Tony's foot* *Neglects his responsibilities as security guard and doesn't even notice people are missing because he's too excited about finding clues*

A very ominous note to end this chapter on. I look forward to the next one. Each chapter has gotten better and better. There were just a plethora of puzzles in the grand chamber. Thanks again for putting this all together! -
*Checks the statues for markings or inscriptions in the vain hope that the solution will reveal itself.*
-
*Grabs the matchbook out of Jack's hand.* I can put that down my pants myself, thank you! *Mutters about senility and returns the matchbook to it's rightful place down his pants* (OOC - I just noticed your new title ) *Tries to peer into the crack that Jack opened up by pulling on the lever* It's a real pity he couldn't pull the lever all the way. *Clears throat* I mean, I better investigate this opening and make sure it's secure. Because I'm the Security Guard and stuff.
-
*Arranges blocks like so (red is brown and black is dark grey. I didn't have enough in the actual colors, okay? )* *Shoves this big block in the alcove at the back*

Yes otherwise the disgrunted security guard might not be so vigilant about protecting your character from the supernatural horrors were liekly to encounter soon. -
Hmmm..... Maybe these tiles unlock when people stand on the 1 and 2 tiles? Also, the tile that Chris Owens tile fit into, did anyone try standing on that? I'm going to sit here by this tile while other people go and stand on things. Every time there is a clicking sound I will try to open it and find what's underneath.
-
I don't think anyone has investigated either of the ? tiles yet. *Checks to see if the ? by the altar is loose and if so what is under it*
-
*Looks at matchbook to see if there is anything written on it. And then reads it aloud in a booming voice*
-
...make excellent weapons? If only we knew had the other half of the paper. What make excellent weapons? Hey! Why'd you two go and waste matches?! *Sticks matchbook down his pants so no one else can use the remaining three foolishly*
-
Well you can't because I already did I'm tired of just looking at the apparition. I'm going to go try and touch it. If it's tangible, I'd like to move it to the position where the fourth statue should be, put this new torch that seems to have appeared on the floor in his hand, light it and then move all the statues into the same position that he is standing in (slightly bent forward with one arm reaching forward holding a lit torch). If it's not tangible I would like to run away screaming. Ahhh! This place is cursed!
-
OMG! WTF? I mean, everyone stay calm! *Aims tranquilizer gun at shadow* Did anyone see what made that toppling sound? *Glances at gateway at bottom of altar quickly to make sure it's still closed* I knew I should have been a Security Guard at Disney World instead
-
*Moseys on over the the X tile just south of the altar and looks for any hidden goodies under it*
