have you deleted certain substep, callout, or submodel step related to that particular step? if so, that's probably why. i once deleted a submodel step on a certain step, and it result of giving that "ghost". my solution was deleting that particular step, and redo it.

the 2015 version use the exact same building system with hero factory and chima ultrabuild, so you should have no problem with that. the 2001 version use slightly different system that still compatible with the new version, but might cause some confusion with new players. but since the 2001 version is old and hard to find, and you're new in this system, i assume that you will definitely gets the 2015 ones, which means this shouldn't be a problem to you. :)
