but there isn't anything that you could call a source Like Penguin pointed out, there are so many different incarnations of the Batman in the comics on there own. For example, we have: - Frank Miller's batman in All-star; a lunantic who's ready to mistreat a child and who, although maybe not on purpose, kills people in his wild campaigns - Arkam asylum/ city, a dark batman, who wears what you might call an armor. - the sixtees Batman; as in the TV-show, really campy - Kelly Jones' Batman, a dark gothic monster -... You see, they are all really different from each other, why make them holy and despice Nolan' version? it's just another view on Batman.

I was just wondering, why does the snakeguy in set 9455 MDP 1 hold a banana?

God, how I'd love to see a detective thriller starring Batman. But I don't think DC will agree, because, even if the films are PG12 or above, they are targetted (i spelled that wrong, didn't I, ) mainly at teens and young adults. And the teens of these days, at least the ones I have contact with, don't really appreciate a good detective story. I noticed this when my friends and I saw the Tv series Sherlock, which is more clever than the movies (which are fun as well). They all preferred the movies as there was more action in it.

Look at the head, you'll see some kind of helmet. Legolas doesn't wear a helmet so I expect it to be Haldir or another elven warrior.

I share Lothos' opinion on this one. And as for Ridley Scott? He'll do the same as Nolan, just a bit more stylised. Like Robin Hood, but that as well, is another conversation.

I understand what both of you mean, and I do agree on some points (alot of them actually) But the way you brought your arguments makes it sound as if the movie on its own, without the (big) changesNolan has made, sucks. The way I see it, you can still enjoy the movie for its storyline, apart from the source material. And as for the comics. I'm glad I'm not the only bat-geek on this forum, I and think that you and I share a same passion for the winged crusader. Just some other views.

And you, with all respect, make it sound as if Nolan's films are just as bad as, I don't know, the third Transformers or GI Joe. While I understand that the way he sees the universe, isn't in line with your view, the movies, as a movie, not as an interpretation of Batman, aren't badly made. And are certainly on par with some other great movies like Inception. If you would view one of them, without knowing anything of Batman, you would enjoy them just as a smart blockbuster. But it seems to me,that you don't really like, or even respect, versions of a character that are different than your view. I noticed this as well with the Arkham City villains. The ones that have changed from the original 'classic' designs, were the ones you liked the least. I hope you understand that I mean no disrespect, and I do respect your opinions. But this is something I noted, and wanted to get out of my system. No hard feelings I hope.

You could always send those prizes to me, if they don't answer. Just joking of course.

Is wat they all say. I remember this happening in POTC and with the DC- wave, but some way or another, Everybody buys them anyhow. I sure as hell will be getting some of these.
-
I'm going to give: 13) Arkham City (Build by sok117) 2 points 6) Batman Returns (1992 Burton) (Build by lego-maniac) 1 point Good luck to all of you builders, and may the best one win!
-
That would be so cool, I remember going there with school.
-
Thanks anyway.
-
But you could get the Gold pieces of POTC. Don't they count as licensed? I never found them anywhere out of POTC. :)
-
NOOOOOOO! Thanks for reporting though. Would it be possible to order this via the Lego customers service?
-
Thank you SO much!

I was already planning on voting on you, so the instructions might come pretty cheap.

Sorry for bumping this thread, but I remembered there were a lot of complaints about Catwoman not having a proper mask. I saw the picture again and when zooming in I noticed something coming out from behind the goggles. I think this is a dominomask (in the style of nightwing's) and that she does have catears, just on the mask.

Indeed, that is how I think of it as well. But I seem to have started a pretty big discussion, I hope nobody's angry on me for that? I know sombbody said, there's always the aftermarket, but sadly, that's not an option for me. And I think there are a lot of people, who, like me don't have the option, or the money, to spend on a cape on the aftermarket.

In the 'Escape from Shanghai' set, the most iconic piece of dr. Jones' equipment was included: his hat.And it wasn't even in that scene in the movie. why not do the same here, But with Batman's cape?
-
Maybe I misphrased, I wasn't talking about price, I meant that it would be really 'idiotic' of Lego not to include a normal cape for reasons I have already explained I hope I don't sound to impolite, if so, it's not intended.
-
Yes, but we're talking about the inclusion of a real fabric cape. I really like the fact that they made a piece for the wings, so that we don't have a huge construction on his back, but it woeld be reaaly cheap of Lego not to include the normal cape.

Wow! this is very well done! I really like that batmobile. Is it possible to shoot a few close-up shots of it? Or maybe an ldd file? I'd love to build it, and I hope you won't mind if I do? Alle the credits would go to you of course.

If I remember it correctly, the Quinjet is a vehicle used by the Avengers. And it's listed with the other Marvel sets, so I don't think that's the exclusive.
-
what can I do if you're wrong? No, I sure hope he does! If not, Lego would have made a pretty big blunder.
-
Indeed!, I agree! A Batman sans cape is like a FOL without Lego!
