  1. So now we need the Lego community to come up with additional ideas for train cars to add to this train. Personally, I think it needs some passenger cars for the Minifigs.
  2. Add me to,the disappointed list. Just think about Morten, the poor schmuck who had to give the spiel about what a wonderful set this is. Seems like TLG is following the Hollywood trend and not coming up with new ideas. I have all the WV sets and may have to swallow hard to buy this one. If I do, I am thinking of building it backwards to make it somewhat different than the original. Boo to Lego.
  3. Amazing, Wikipedia has everything. Thanks for the link.
  4. I know this has to be somewhere but I can't find it. Is there a list of the modulars in the order of their release. I have all of them (heh, heh) and I want to organize them on a display.
  5. Just curious, is there any talk in the Lego Group about a new mini modular set to continue for all of the more recent regular size modulars?
  6. I like the idea of mirror building the two bonus sets. Was thinking the same thing if I get two of them. I am considering putting the long toy machine inside the workshop with the bonus sets making the back wall.
  7. I have received and built both the Santa Workshop (10245) and the added set (40106). I am curious how the clever AFOLs are going to integrate these two sets because the bonus set does not seem to match the workshop walls. I suppose the bonus set could be used as a shed for the elves behind the workshop. Anyway, I am interested in ideas from the wisdom of the forum.

  9. Thanks for the info. Saves me fumbling around.
  10. I had a couple of gremlins at my house over the Thanksgiving holiday (2 1/2 and 4 years old). Besides the devistation to my holiday village that was left behind, they also figured out how to turn on the light bricks and leave them on. Needless to say, there isn't much left of the battery in the brick. So, the question is how easy or hard is it to replace the battery? And, where can I purchase a battery replacement?
  11. I just finished building this set and am amazed at its complexity. Great build and gret looking set. Having said that, it looks like the designers have left the back of the booth with the ball game open so that it can be motorized. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for motorizing it or has actually made the mod. It seems to me that the motor would have to be small so that it doesn't distract from the beauty of the set. So, AFOLers, ideas?
  12. I see lots of whining about no light brick. What about a big bonfire with a light brick in the middle? Would add some more flavor to the setting.
  13. This looks like a very good way to light up the entire village. It appears to me after reading your instructions that no Lego bricks need to be modified. Is this correct? Also, where can the kit be purchased? And do you include printed instructions because your pictures were not clear when I tried to magnify the screen image.
  14. Good job, very nice litte house. We need more houses in our winter vllage.
  15. It has been a while since TLG produced the original mini-modulars. I think that they have proven to be popular, so I was wonder if anyone knows if TLG will come out with new ones. There have been some impressive MOCs but a lot of them don't fit the same scale as the originals (at least in my opinion).
  16. Those are white leaves are real Lego parts. They are hard to find though. I happened upon them several years ago and have been waiting for the chance to use them. And thanks foe all of your generous comments.
  17. Here is my addition to the winter village. I though the citizens needed some adult refreshment to enliven the season. This is the overview of the set. A closeup of the pub. You can see lots of activity inside. :) The brews are created on the second floor and consumed below. More of the inside. All winter sets need a way to transport packages, so here is my version of a sleigh. And the celebants also need a place for some solitude.:) And a final close-up of the front of the pub. I had fun designing and building all of these. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. They will become a part of my winter village display. Cheers.
  18. Thanks for the reply. I believe that I can just make out what you have done and it gives me some ideas to try.
  19. Well, if any encouragement is needed, I enjoyed the entries over the last two years and hope for more.
  20. I would kove to see how such a switch works. I have tried to make one of my own and am not very satisfied with the result. Would appreciate any pics of a swithch that keeps the light brick on without holding it.
  21. Thanks. I now go to study the art of deeplinking. I did see it discussed in the tutorials.
  22. I am brand new to Eurobricks and need some help in understanding the rules for uploading pictures. I have read all of the tutorials but can't find the answer to my dilema. I apologize up front if this is answered elsewhere. I understand the 800x600 picture size limit. Howeve, what I need clarification on is the total upload limit. I posted one reply and was warned that the limit was 100kb. Is this the total limit for that specific post? That is pretty small because I was limited to one picture that was 51kb. I ask that question because I tried to post another reply and the message I got was that I have exceeded my attachment limit. I want to post additional pictures of MOCs but I seem to be very restricted. Or, maybe I am just confused. Please help.
  23. So, here is my contribution to the forum. I created this modular version in LDD trying to use as many of the original pieces as possible. This is more of a proof of concept model and that is why not all of the detail for the house is included in the picture. The new bricks that I had to use are colored bright red. If you go to Brickshelf, you can see each floor in a separate picture. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=515266 From a distance it looks very similar to the original. I added approximately one brick to the height of the model.
  24. I have been building the HH in LDD and so far I am pleased with the result. I have taken the approach that I need to use the original bricks as much as possible and only substitued different ones when absolutely necessary to create the modular stacking. I am finding LDD to be very helpful in determining how to arrange things. Once I am done, I will post some LDD pictures.
