    “Hello.” Merei racks her gaze over the people, before returning it to the Hydra’s face. “It seems you can speak to us ably now. You’ve done a lot of damage to this ship and the people aboard. What was it for?”

    "That is a good, inquisitive mind you have," Merei whispers back.

    Merei goes over her list of crew members carefully - there are still more missing than she'd like. Her worst fear, at the moment, is blowing the ship with someone unknowingly still on it. "Where is the scientist?" she mutters as she follows Zaria, keeping her flames low.

    Merei nods just once upon seeing the number. “I try to not be imaginative. But it is nice to have it confirmed from time to time. This is a Hart container.” She stands and looks at the spread growth on the ceiling. “Very well. Let us proceed to Delta and prepare to destroy this ship.”

    Merei checks the identification and control panel, trying to determine who was shipping the box and if it’s contents are described.

    OoC: I'm just going to distribute this loot, if that's okay with everyone. @karmajay, if you want to do something different with it, let me know! But I want to move forward. Also, everyone watch your Inventory! Remember we have a limit of 10, so I think a lot of us are at the very edge of what we can comfortably carry. Also, @Kintobor, you have a nice armor attachment I think you can use but which you aren't right now! Merei takes the potions and brews from Kirwin, distributing them. She gives one potion to each member of the party, including Viper. She takes two Aether Brews for herself, and gives one to Zaria and Kirwin each. She then drinks a potion and a brew. "Let us go find some containers." She walks into the main cargo hold.

    OoC: Karma! You found those potions and brews, I think it’s only fair you distribute them!

    "I'm disappointed, Viper. I thought you were unhappy with Hart. If he is shipping things he shouldn't, I'd think you'd want to know that." Merei waits for the potions and aetherbrews to be distributed, and then pokes her head into the main cargo bay. "Kirwin, do you think there's any way to determine through the computers which were the restricted crates belonging to our employer?"

    Haven't read it yet, but will do so now! Different Duvors shout out: this fight is REALLY fun in Mission 9, the mechanics rock, it's a cool way to reveal names of the other characters in the area slowly, it just works on a ton of levels. The pictures are fantastic as well.

    Merei looks around, trying to determine if this cargo pod has the same set up as the one they were previously in. "I wouldn't say no to that potion." She centers herself. "We need to make it to Delta Container. That is where the supposed bomb is, and McSorley, hopefully. We know the bomb was fake, but the energy supplies there should be able to effectively blow the ship. I trust you and I to figure that out, Kirwin. We were just in Beta. That would make this Gamma, and the next Delta." She looks squarely at both Viper and Dean. "We don't know where the Hydra originated, but there were some containers marked restricted, shipped by Mortizar, in container Gamma. Is that of any interest to anyone here?" OoC: Hopefully got that all right, just trying to synthesize some info from a lot of months and also go off my understanding of the greek alphabet.

    “Zaria is right. I am not pleased with how that happened, but what is done is fact.” Merei goes to collect any identification on the body. Looking at Zaria’s blade Merei nods to the eye. “It appears we are being watched. Do we want to be?” Leaning down near the body she mutters to herself. “Stop growing eyes! You need a mouth that can speak our language.”

    Merei and Varen and Viper all get into the airlock.

    OoC: Before I submit actions, we can’t all concurrently occupy that space, can we? We need to take multiple rounds to pull this off? Also I think Meiospores were dropped from the combatants.

    So just so I understand how ranged weapons work: in Round 3 of the Hydra combat that's currently running Varen has an optimal range of 3. So his scores, with diagonals counting as one, would be: No penalty: Calyx A, Calyx B -1 penalty (one outside optimal range): Hydra Sprout A -2 penalty (two outside optimal range): Meiospore A, B, Hydra Sprout C, D Is that right?

    "Do not get cut off, Zaria!" Merei calls. "We are close. Careful. Careful." She rallies Viper as Varen fires on Calyx A.

    "Remember, our goal is survival." Merei moves to B3 and defends herself as Varen moves behind Viper to C5 and drinks a plasma potion.

    Varen fires on Hydra B before moving back to C4. Merei rallies Viper and stays put. “I am incapable of connecting to spells at the moment, Zaria.” Merei’s flames are burning low. “It has been a long and difficult day.”

    OoC: Sorry, yes, only meant to do it the once. Also don’t remember the rules for moving - are diagonals allowed? I thought they weren’t for some reason. Let me check! EDIT: Oh! Is allowed! ”Kirwin, I can get to it quicker. Help the others.” Merei moves to the control panel and begins the sequence. Varen rallies himself.

    OoC: I believe I should be out of Aetherbrews, as I've used one since the last combat. I keep asking Varen for his, since he does not use them, but he hasn't ever given it to me or responded to the request. I also did it twice, by accident, lol. Whoops! It's the same results both times, so it doesn't matter. Also was hoping for Kirwin to roast him, and for me to heal him, but oh well haha. "Kirwin. We need this process begun as soon as possible. Would you like me to do the honors? Or will you?" OoC: I think it'll take us both two turns to get there?

    Merei watches Zaria carefully. “We were able to scare it out of the captain,” she reminds her, “and he was infected longer. Kirwin, I suggest we act swiftly and decisively. I think your should hold the flame close to Duncan, perhaps even on Duncan, and I can heal him as we proceed to scare the Hydra out.” Merei will heal Duncan if attempts to scare the Hydra out of him appear to be gravely injuring him.

    Merei begins to sneak forward carefully before seeing that Kirwin is taking a different route. “This works as well.” She follows close behind.

    Merei pokes around for a little bit before realizing her mistake. "That's that decision made," she mutters, feeling a little foolish. She returns to the others. "We must clear the room. Are you ready? Zaria? Varen?"

    “The room isn’t safe. I suggest we move forward and, should we still have questions, we can return to it prepared for combat. I will admit I am curious what is in there, but I don’t want to put anyone at risk. Unless you are hoping to be thorough in this creature’s destruction, Zaria. If not, let’s move to the next container.” Merei goes to examine the passageway to the next container. "It raises an interesting consideration, though. The bomb we were hoping for appears to have been a decoy, built instead as a signal booster. How do we hope to destroy the ship?"

    Merei looks around swiftly, trying to determine if there are any bodies in the rubble. “Kirwin. As much as I’d like to explore this area, it seems an unnecessary risk.” She begins to back out carefully.
