The heroes make their way to the ambush, and, sure enough, the caravan of troops and supplies are travelling through a pass. Hans lunges out and the heores follow. "Rebels! Kill them!" shouts a City Guard, and the battle is on. RULES: If the person with a Phoenix Essence is downed and not revived, you will fail and receive no troops. You will receive 1 extra troop for every four of their troops you kill. AFTER every round of combat, the enemy will receive six more troops (1 Caravan Captain and 5 Caravan Soldiers). Bombs, Mage's magic bursts... anything that targets "ALL ENEMIES" may only target 6. If you use something like this, please indicate how you who you would like to use it on in your original attack. EXAMPLE: I will attack person A, but if I get a magic burst, it should hit people A, B, C, D, E, and L. Phoenix Smoke will allow you to exit and gain XP from the battle, even in the case that you were KO'd, so fight until the last man (though again, be careful). Finally, you will also leave with any thing that was dropped before the Phoenix Smoke was used. The Enemies Caravan Captain Type: Humanoid Level: 15 Health: 40/40 Special: Coordinated attack – Does 3 damage to attacker, and saps 2 damage and 2 ether from everyone in the same row as attacker. "Let's give it a try! Worse case scenario is that we get it wrong and this sucker has to face the King of the Desert."
-
I have to say, while Boomingham does like to hit on just about everyone, I'd hate to see him succeed with another hero. I don't think anyone in the hall is his match. These matches gotta make sense, flattering each other isn't enough to actually fall in love.
-
I'll take a pause while this is answered.... and while I build like the only set I don't have.
-
"I'll cut you a bargain. Either 1 extra for every 4 you kill, or 2 for every 6. If you fall early, that will help you, and if not, it won't. Your choice heroes, pick now."
-
"Ha! You think you have the right to make requests of me Rogue?! Elf?! HA! HAHAHAHA! Have someone with more honor ask me, and perhaps we will be able to bargain. Do not think just because the human cleric, who is the weakest of you heroes, a magic healer, ha, drools over you that I will do the same."
-
"Thinking like a general. Good. I like this one. What is your name human? To address your questions, kill all of them, capture none. I have chosen the place, I will have someone guide you there when it is time. They will be strung out, passing through a pass. Your words are sometimes stupid - passing through a pass. The pass is narrow, so they should not be able to all be together. 6 of them will be added each round." The heroes must also decide who will carry the Phoenix Smoke. Remember, if the hero carrying it is KO'd and not revived, the heroes will fail and Vonnetate will give them NO troops.
-
"We have the time, and doing what the Rebels ask is fairly important..." "They are reinforcements to the City Guard. They have supplies and troops. I do not want them to reach their destination, and if they do, I would like them weakened. They are the size of an army nearly, far more than the troops I have, but if you can weaken them..." Vonnetate trails off, and then begins on a new thought. "I am a warrior. I do not want the trust and admiration of those who oppose me, I wish them dead."
-
<I don't mind the role play, just keep it PG-13 . Also, maybe people don't eat each other's faces as much as you guys think they do. Of course you're still in the Honey Moon phase, but if there was ever a time to put your relationship through some tribulations, for role playing purposes of course, Wren would love to watch it! . and WBD, I figured that's what the case was, sorry for springing the Quest of you!> "Follow me." The party treks through secret passages until they come to a castle, ruined, but still functional. Hans tells them to wait outside, dips indoors, and then retrieves them a few minutes later. They walk in and are greeted by a troop of Pongcanae. Hans walks cooly through the creatures as they working, training, fencing, building. The animals sneer at the heroes as the walk through the halls. "Be careful, they'll eat you," Hans half jokes. He sneers right back at them. "Ya just gotta prove your worth, that's all. And that's what we're doing today." The heroes arrive at the center of the castle and enter a small room, where a Pongcanis unlike many of the others sits. He is clearly the leader. "Hello. My name is Vonnetate. These are my people, and this is my castle." He walks towards the heroes. "Hans has told me you are here to help. I am skeptical. You will forgive me, but heroes and my species do not have a good past. I understand, my species is... at a... misunderstanding with the others. We have a hunger that you all satisfy, but we are not strangers to honor and worth." "For that purpose, I would like to over-throw the government here. They are corrupt. They are evil. They oppress us. We do not accept that. Hans says you are here to help, but I do not know you. Hans does not know most of you. I need to know that you are trustworthy, and more importantly, that you are worth keeping around. If you are not good fighters, it may be more beneficial to feed you to my warriors." Vonnetate half laughs. "Hans says that you are uniting the rebel groups. I do not like the others, but I will fight with them. Hans has promised to mediate, and alongside you, I will be a general. I know the ways of war. The other leaders are weak. Fredrick of the humans does not know how to fight, and I do not trust him to go through with it. Samuel of the humans and Haddock of the Orcs are so at odds with each other that they are unable to think ahead." "I am willing to offer you some troops. The flat number of troops that I will give you is 25. However, if you complete a task for me, I would be willing to offer you more. A caravan is passing through this way, full of supplies and reinforcements. If you stop it, I would be very willing to give you more troops. For every 6 of their troops you kill, I will offer 2 more troops. The army is large, and I can not expect you to kill them all, as they will continue to come in waves. So I will give you this." - Phoenix Smoke (x1) "A Phoenix Smoke is useless to us normally, since we fight until the end, but when fighting large number of enemies, it is useful. It allows you to flee, but also gain experience from the fight, even in the case that you are KO'd during the fight. However, if whoever is carrying the Phoenix Smoke is KO'd... you may be out of luck. The enemies will keep coming. If you die in combat, I will salute you. Remember, for every 6 of them you kill, I will give you 2 additional troops. Do you accept the offer?" "I think we'd better, but it's up to you Ogre. He's giving us 25 troops either way, but the more troops, the better. And I don't know how he'd feel if you said no..." Hans', who normally was cool and collected to the point where he didn't look like he cared, was eyeing the surrounding Pongcanae with discomfort. "And of course I am not rude. If you have any questions about me, my troops, the other rebels, the city, McColt, my opinion on which way you'd best taste, anything along those lines, please feel free to ask."

Yeah, we've just been on this Quest for.... well, double the amount of all the other quests. And we're so near the end. We've missed the sign-ups for over ten quests at this point, and it's only been 31 pages... so yes, it is the busiest time of year, but they've been spotty for almost two months... He's right, I'm getting a little anxious . And Capt. sorry if I'm getting sassy. I just want to get back is all. You know I respect QMs, it's a hell of a job, and while it's fun it's lots of work. Over-all, that was in character, Boomingham is always hung-ho, let's move, etc. But yeah, it is a little kick to everyone (not you only) to get a move on!
-
"Hey, no fighting, save that for the enemy. We all need to calm down. Jess, perhaps maybe canoodle less, and don't walk around in the nude." "I don't mind it." Hans spits on the ground. "Hey, Ogre, make a choice already."
-
Yeah, would have been smart to do from the beginning, I had to backtrack instead. It's funny to me, actually, because of course we as the players know all the other characters, but I've never talked to Skrall or Cronk or Docken or Haldor or any of those folks that I, as a player, know very well, but Boomingham, as a character, has no idea about.

Brickdoctor, I love everything about your Quest. Also, fun fact that I didn't know, Docken and Boomingham haven't ever met. It's strange when you QM someone, and you assume your characters know each other. And, just because I'm a nerd, and because I get confused easily, I just went backwards through the whole Heroica Hall Topic and both my Quests so I could find out which heroes I actually know...
-
Hehe. I love the connections in your Quests Sandy. The Hinckwell Crates turning up was a lovely touch.
-
"Do we really have to do this?" mumbles Boomingham. "I think we could take this fellow. I say just answer it wrong..." "Is there a kite that's a type of bird that goes underwater to catch fish? I'm not much of a thinker... must be the years of drinking too much...."

I'm sorry if I get the stats wrong guys, please do correct me. This truly is my least favorite part of QMing. It's the only time I really have to pull from a bunch of other sources and keep everything straight in my head. Other than this I just need two copies of my thread, Photobucket, and the document I have my notes i, but here I have like photo bucket and a ton of different topic tabs open. Sorry if I screwed anything up. Also, thanks Brickdoctor. I'll allow all of you to correct me and asks questions, then I'll update the stats.

Heroica RPG - Quest#19: Let's Start a Riot The heroes of Quest 19 traveled by ship to a small port near Newharbour and then were guided by a shady guide who claimed to have been hired by Felton. He took them to a mountain range on the outskirts of the Mountains of Titans, and told them that the village of Haddon that Felton had hired them to help with was in a large valley just over the mountains. The heroes set out over the mountains. The way was treacherous and the heroes almost lost their ways multiple times, but eventually, after two days of travel, they emerged to see the village, at the base of the mountains. Snow peppered the roofs of houses and the grass was sparse. The heroes thought it looked beautiful. He walks calmly ovver to Jess and gives her a hug. "Good to see you again," he says. He then shakes the other's hands. He stops at Haldor. "Jess has told me a lot about you." He indicates that he should be followed, and the brings them to a small camp. Hans sits by a fire, but rises upon hearing the Heroes approaching. He also shakes all their hands and mumbles greetings. "It's great to see you again Jess, others. I think it's important that you know how we came to this. After we left the Arena, Mr. Cleric, Phil, Hans, and myself all awoke where we had been taken from - me slightly outside my village, Hans on a plain near-by, as it turns out, Mr. Cleric outside his home near Ennoc, and Phil near Newharbour. We all met up, and vowed that we would track down and defeat Lady Wren while she was still on large. Sadly, Phil had obligations in his home land and sailed off, and Mr. Cleric had a family to look after, but they promised they'd keep an eye out for Wren in their areas of the world, while Hans and I did the same in our world. I had a Mage in my village devise a system for us to communicate, and I hired someone on Eubric to post Quests if we ever needed Heroica's help again." "Hans and I stumbled upon this chance thanks to one of my contacts in Newharbour. They said that Wren had been sighted up north, and we gathered information until we were sure of what was happening here, and then we tried to cross the mountains. We were seperated for a night or two and lost our way as a snow storm hit, but eventually we reconvened." "Wren has seized control of the town and the guard, who were already corrupt and suppressing the people. She has convinced them to make Chaos Factories, which literally produce Chaos. We believe that she is attempting to rise an army of Chaos Monsters, the beast that Cronk, Hans, Mr. Cleric and myself encountered on our way out of the Arena. There are three of these factories, and it is important that we destroy them all." "Luckily, we won't have to do this on our own. Hans has been in contact with four rebel leaders, all of whom wanted to bring down the government of this town even before Wren allied herself with them. He has been in contact with them while I've scooped out the town. The rebels wish to make a move in about a week, but want to first make sure that you are all honestly on our side. You will have to go meet with the various leaders on different days." "You ain't gonna like the leaders. They may be on our side, but they sure as hell are megablockers, each and every one of them. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. I'd expect them more to be the corrupt government rather than trying to over-turn them, but hey, I guess people surprise you." "You have seven days. You may use them whatever way you like. Three days will be spent with me destroying factories, three days will be spent with Hans meeting the Rebel Leaders, and one day you may venture into the town to explore. You may choose the order which you do these events. Each day decide to either visit a rebel leader, destroy a factory, or go to town. Any questions for us?" Suddenly, a ghostly female voice whispers in the Hero's ears. The voice is bubbly and sweet and seems on the verge of laughter. Only Jess recognized it, and it sent shivers down her spine. "Oh, heroes of Heroica! You came! How lovely! How is Scheherazade? This is going to be a treat, trust me! We're going to have a lot of fun. Just call me if you need help." The heroes looked around, but no one other than Hans, Felton and themselves were in sight. <Please make sure that all these stats are right. Also, if you did not have a chance to go to the Marketplace before realizing you were on a Quest, you may visit it if you do so before posting in this thread.>

"Let's just go. I'm bored. If my childhood... from so long ago, has taught me anything, it's that red means danger. I'll go ahead and step on the black tiles."

I'm really psyched about this Quest guys, we've got a good crew, and I promise, the loot will be good, even if there's not official reward! I'm starting in a few hours, I'm too excited to wait .

There were 6 founders, and six people currently run the Hall!

Looks awesome Sandy! I'm so so so excited. Shields are still effective for all knight classes, right?

"Let's divi up this gold and get a move on. I want to find out who this fellow is."
