Well I really like the white fighter, in my view its a significant improvement over the MX-41 Switch Fighter, even if doesn't transform. Best part is I'll get a matching blue canopy to replace the orange one on my Recon Dropship.

Different from Star Justice, yes. The hot rod is supposed to be from the Space Police's new enemies, and the white Police fighter isn't the only ship or set of the theme by far. I know the design of this theme won't please everyone, just as most themes don't, but speaking for myself it is a light year's improvement over Mars Mission and thats what counts.

Man, and you saved them with ALL their boxes in mint shape no less!!!(jaw drops) Your sitting on a gold mine dude, and I'm sitting here flushed with envy...

In a perfect world I would want all new torsos, but there is always that darn cost of development thing. I have heard that those printed minifig torsos are the most expensive element in every set LEGO makes. Anyway I hope I'm wrong at the end and we do get new ones. Anyway I thank Mania3 for the one leak we have all been eagerly waiting for, and that more and clearer images are just around the corner. Needless to say I'll be buying every set at the first moment of availability

(((((((((((((FINALLY!!!)))))))))))))) Low quality or not, those ARE an eye feast! Mars Mission is over indeed, and with those very few low-res images I can say for myself that Space is back in full force. The Squidman's space car seems a little different and out there, but it looks cool enough and works for the theme. I suspect this is the Hyperspeed Pursuit set, and that the Galactic Enforcer will consist of a far more substantial spacecraft than the barely medium sized ship the police are using here. Its good to see TLC still using colored windscreens for Space, with that color being blue, a toned down color that goes with many things without looking too unbelievable as being canopy glass, it was also a common Classic Space color in the 80's. We may not see the actual Police figs yet, but I would be satisfied if TLC reused the old Clone Pilot torso like the one below, matched to different colored arms and legs, with a standard head and helmet/visor on top.

Never thought I'd say this, but I actually like the combination of the old and new light grays, at least how their applied here. I think the shape is cool, and the design generally quite well thought out. All the more reason for TLG to bring back old gray.

Awesome review, obviously you put alot of time and thought into this, thanks alot. The Saucer Centurian looks awesome too. Although not a true capital ship, it proves that size matters not when it comes to great set design and altogether coolness. Spyrius were technically a Blacktron 3 with a different a name and some different ideas. But it was a truly great theme by the looks of it, though I was well within the midst of my Lego dark-age during the time it was out. And its sad LEGO Space would descend into obscurity not long after this theme ended. Though Exploriens, UFO or Insectoids weren't altogether worthless like you said, the later themes just weren't fully realized. Lets all hope Space Patrol or Space Police 3 lives up to the legacy Spyrius and its preceding Space themes have set.

I know this sounds impatient, but pictures please! If you have a link to the real deal, post it please! I only hope some NDA expires on the first of the year, and someone in the know spills out his/her guts here 12:01 AM sharp, January 1st.

We'll know at the time and places below... http://www.toyassociation.org/AM/Template....al_Information1 Though their could be leaks or a official LEGO Group press release ahead of time, I'm not holding my breath...

As did I, but this post has me wondering: http://club1.lego.com/en-us/Events/default.aspx Not totally official I admit, but anything is possible from what I know.

Pics are what I want the most too. But I'm stoked the line is officially going to be called "Space Police", its a name that evokes great potential for continuity with Space sets of the past. But I agree how well the sets are actually designed is what will ultimately determine their worth. And please no "jellies ", among other things.

Awww, I also miss the little picture catalogs from those days. I would be willing to pay the extra cost for them in a retail set, even if they were only included in the larger sets of over 500 pieces or something like that.

How so good old LEGO Space was, those kids had no clue how good they had it being stickerless and jelly free. Though the Magnetizer and M:Tron technically weren't Classic Space, the set's build quality is as good as it gets. Easily the Galaxy Explorer of Space ground vehicles. Those were the days.

Jek Tranter P.I. and his ship - The Ladybird.

Very awesome, love the Spyrius color scheme. If Space Patrol looks half this good, it will sell huge! Star Wars has nothing on this in the coolness factor. -
If the theme is generally better or more classically Space inspired than Mars Mission as a whole, I'll be buying every set the moment they come up for pre-order at LEGO Shop at Home. And in the meantime hope they go light on the stickers and strange gimmicks, and keep out the jellies...

As with the disappearance of any theme Mars Mission's departure will be a bittersweet goodbye. Its main contribution being that it brought LEGO Space back after a lengthy absense, even though some of its sets showed great potential but didn't quite hit the mark, or its color scheme being the subject of ridicule for some. With that I bid Mars Mission farewell and wish it great success on its last holiday season. And after the new year arrives and the last MM sets disappear off closeout shelves, I'll be eager in wait for the next chapter in LEGO Space, Space Patrol!

As am I. The set's name could be a play on words between "Galactic Mediator" and "Galaxy Explorer", so its possible its an updated synthesis of the two designs. We can only hope the Galactic Enforcer designer learned his/her lesson from the MX-81's playability shortcomings (no interior, etc).

Doctor Who Legos would be very popular in the UK if TLC released it as a line. I'm not sure it would go over so well in the States, as DW is largely seen here as a uniquely English thing, and not so universal as Star Trek or Star Wars. Although I do consider myself a fan, even going back to the days the original series was aired on public television, but I am well aware the franchise goes against the grain of what most Americans prefer with Science Fiction.

Well the best part about it is that its BIG, and if you can't afford the large SW: 7676 Republic Attack Gunship (which is designed much better) I would recommend it. But here comes the not-so-good, its size is achieved by using many large parts connected with a technic scheme which leaves several open gaps. And for such a large ship it doesn't come with much of an interior, but that can be changed with some customizations. It uses the large City Plane wing, which seems to overwhelm the design, especially if you don't use the sticker decals with it. The 7644 MX-81 Hypersonic Operations Aircraft (or Hypersonic Spacecraft) is loosely based on the Ice Planet: 6973 Deep Freeze Defender from the early 90s and ironically that set actually has more playability features and options, and is a more solid design than the MX-81. And for it being a somewhat smaller set (but still large) thats saying alot, but I can say its indeed the case since I have both, so if you can find it on eBay or somewhere else for $80 USD or less, I would suggest get it instead.

Looks to be some sort of troop landing ship, and the engines and detail in general is simply awesome. I must say it beats anything in the Star Wars UCS line by a mile, lol.

What baddies would you like to see in a new Space Police line?
Spacefan replied to Adam's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Seriously??? The Alien Commander fig is OK I suppose, though far from my favorite. Anyhow, I naturally voted for Blacktron (although they would technically be Blacktron III). In my view some anime/manga influence would be a nice touch for Space Police, something like an updated Spyrius or a spacier Exo-Force would be a good idea, with a nice mix of spacecraft, mecha and ground vehicles. Although I am in many ways a LEGO Space traditionalist, I know some concessions will have to be made to contemporary LEGO theme and toy trends for a line to be successful at today's market. So in that regard I don't expect a precise reboot of Space Police I or II, although recapturing the basic essence and feel of the old themes in a more up-to-date sort of way is quite possible and even likely. -
Worst set of the year? Worst set of all time? The pictures say it all, no ratings necessary. A waste of paper for box and instructions, and waste of plastic for bag and jelly alien. The little alien ship that comes with the Switch Fighter beats this one hands down, as well as any other LEGO spaceship I have ever seen and I have seen many. Thankfully this set isn't available in my country, which is something I never thought I would say. Anyway, I hope TLG makes these awful jelly aliens disappear forever after this year.

I too am one for colored canopies/windscreens, just not orange in the next theme. My ideal color is trans-blue (light or dark), I think its the most believable of the windscreen colors apart from trans-black, and would also work to improve the look of Mars Mission sets which already have trans-blue elements. And given SW will always have trans-black, I'm all for something different in another line. A new Space Police line using mostly standard parts (to keep down set cost) with some special or rare pieces mixed in, and a solid set design that combines the best of the old with the new is a winning formula in my view. Just be sure they include printed console/computer tiles and slopes.

I hope there ends up being alot of truth to this rumor. And if true, please let there be no orange in these sets, except for a very few small round plates and cones...
