The way I see it is that the time in-between quests is close to real time, but during quests it depends on what happens. So heroes on quests are in a sort of "time pocket". But yeah, you shouldn't think about this too hard, or you'll get a headache. No, nobody else has pitched me any quest ideas lately.

There was a plan for that event, but it got cancelled. I've been vague about it on purpose, because I want to keep my options open whether or not to tie the event into the main storyline better. As some of you have noticed, my plans for the storyline are in a constant state of change, and only when I get a plotpoint across in a quest it will become a permanent fixture to the story. For example, Baba was originally an inconsequential side-character created for Quest#14, but now she's slowly taking over my plans, that dastardly witch... And I did not plan for the Pandemonicon to fall into Byblos's hands beforehand, but when the thought occurred to me towards the end of Quest#44, I felt like it was meant to be. This evolution of the storyline is partially what keeps me motivated to run these quests. I'm not confined to a single ending, but the fate of Heroica is malleable, allowing you guys to affect it almost as much as I do. I'm loving this game sooo much!

Originally the Hunter's Shield-skill did no damage at all. The basic hit was added later to make it more useful on consecutive Shield-rolls. Now enough with the "my skills aren't powerful enough!"-talk and focus on levelling up to reach the expert and master classes.

It's the same case as with rolling a passive "Shield", being "confused", or having "aura" active, etc. Only untargetted enemies get Free Hits, no matter if they get attacked. It's really a simple matter. As Scubacarrot said, there's a difference between a miss and a "MISS": the first is any attack that doesn't connect, the second is a battle result for certain basic classes.

Why? As said, hexed isn't really that powerful an effect, and it only lasts for one round. 1/6 is a really low chance, making the whole skill nigh useless. Assassins at least get the gold gain from their Shield-skill, should all their assassination attempts fail.

Alright, some rulings are desperately needed, it seems: Lucky and Jinxed negate each other's effects, but they do not cancel each other out. So if one gets removed, the other stays. I've edited the FAQ to confirm this. Lucky and Jinxed only affect the battle result roll, not any other roll (unless otherwise specified). This includes scrolls, special guard, assassination odds, etc. However, the Alchemist's "Mixture" is affected by lucky and jinxed, as stated in the rules. I actually want to avoid Shield-skills causing effects that last longer than a round, because "Shields" rolled on consecutive rounds would be pointless - and "Shield" is something everyone should want to see, at least in most cases. I already had to change "War Cry" because of that. I'm leaning towards changing "Hex" to "Mass Illusion" where each enemy faced gets 1/2 chance of getting hexed for a round. That way the skill will be more powerful than now, but also has a chance to be less powerful. Doesn't that sound like a compromise to everyone?

I might have hosted it differently sometime in the past as well, I can't really remember, but the clarified effects on enemies are now listed in the FAQ, and as such are the norms. I'm sorry if the changes/clarifications cause confusion and irritation, but in most cases I have a solid reason for doing them (and sometimes I'm just caught up in a creative craze ).

Yes, I suppose it would be too powerful. Which option of the following is preferred? 1. Keep the Witch's Shield-skill as it is. 2. Change it so that hexed-effect applies to all enemies. 3. Change it so that the hexed enemy also gives gold equal to its level. 4. Change it so that all enemies have 1/2 chance of being hexed, and all enemies successfully hexed give gold equal to their level.

Actually, the description of the stunned-effect was clarified, and not just because of Sorcerers. The effect costs one turn for a hero to recover from, why should it be more detrimental to an enemy? And the very fact that different QMs hosted it differently proved that a clarification was in order. Originally turns and rounds were quite synonymous, but nowadays it makes all the difference whether you're talking about a turn or the whole round (as you yourself said). And a newsflash: the battles are supposed to be hard, or at least challenging. Why else would we even play this game?

Alright, what would CMP and the rest of you think about changing the Witch's Shield-skill "Hex" to "Mass Illusion", that would cause hexed-effect to all enemies as well as gain gold from each of them equal to their level? Would that be too powerful?
