Neutralizer erases temporary effects, not permanent effects. Neutralizer (Removes all temporary effects from all allies and all opponents.) And no, using Tiger Balm won't help either, because "immune to effects"-effect does not cancel other immunities (nor create a paradox in time-space continuum by cancelling itself). I should add that to the item's description, just in case.

Used it for a lack of better word. The guards weren't lounging off in a jail, that's for sure.

I call foul, I'm sorry. You can't give us a list of clues and expect us to just ignore some of them. How on earth did you think we would be able to deduce it just because the clues didn't specifically say hobgoblin? It talked about Common Room, spear and Rio being on the first spot, too, and I for one really tried to make everything match (having done this type of puzzles before), but there just wasn't enough info (and yes, I did take the pre-battle banter into consideration). It was not solvable with the hints provided, it really wasn't. The whole premesis of the puzzle was off, too, since you expected us to deduce that a jailer had the sole key to a lounge. I'm not bitter, but on the other hand I am a bit - just because I love this type of puzzles.

Heroica RPG- Quest #96: Tying up Loose Ends

OoC: Oookay... Just going to say that the clues you provided weren't enough to fill in the guard schedule with 100% certainty, even by using deduction. There was just too many options. Hope you understand our confusion because of that. "Nice to see you, Garlin. You seem to have company." Ellaria says and nods to the man Skrall is accompanied with. "I apologize sir, but we are on an urgent mission to save our friend from captivity. I sincerely hope you understand this and won't get in our way." Ellaria then leads the group to the other door on the opposite side of the hallway, trying to open it. -
Gee, excuse me for being a human and making errors. This isn't one of those cases, though. The immunities have been listed under effects in the rules since the beginning.

Thothwick and Hoptet were the original PC & NPC couple, mind you. Hmm, I wonder if Professor Flitwick is coming back to this game from his hiatus...

Heroica RPG- Quest #96: Tying up Loose Ends
Sandy replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
OoC: If we're playing this by logic, all the guards should have a key to their resting lounge. "Apparently you did not search well enough", Ellaria says, nudging Atramor with her elbow. She then goes to search the zombie guard for a key. -
Immunities are effects - check the rules for a complete listing of all effects (save for quest-specific ones). Soul Link Chain allows two players to have the exact same effects - both permanent and temporary, both positive and negative - but it costs one artifact slot for both of them. Minstrels are affected by Hastened, their Battle Song ability is not, because it is physically impossible sing two songs at a time. I would reckon that with the slowed-effect, the Battle Song would last two rounds instead of one, but it seems Minstrel needs fine-tuning (pun intended) anyway, so I'm just going to leave it up in the air for now. Have I said that at some point?

Walbartan points at the barred gate of the ruins. "I don't think the question is should we get in, but how do we get in." -
Your map looks beautiful, but I agree with Brickdoctor - the old map is clearer and more in-line with the general aesthetic theme of the game. There's really no point in you making a similar map, though. But if you stick around and get deeper into the game, you can host quests in yet unexplored realms and make maps for them all by yourself.

"NO, TWO OF THEM ARE THE MEANEST GIRLS YOU'LL FIND IN THIS PLACE. THEY MAKE EVEN THE CHIRLS LOOK LIKE DANAB'S NOVICES." "I've gotta admit, Glimmer and Reeta are smoking hot! ...Uh, not as hot as Hél, though. Please don't tell her what I said."

"Yeah, but our God is the true God. Maddog says so. I've seen Him, so I believe Maddog. We've all seen Him. Dad always said to believe what you see, because the world is a... umm, trachterous place?" -
"It's at the back of the building. There would normally be an alley there, but you know..." "There are literally hundreds of students in this school, I couldn't..." "I COULD! THAT WAS GRANT BULLSWORTH, THE HEAD HONCHO OF THE 'ROGUES'!" "If Grant's in there, his four lackeys can't be far..."

The boy stared at the dwarf, looking confused. "Lotsa big words, Mister Immaculate. My daddy was brave, patrolling in the wilds. I wanna grow up to be like him. Umm... Do you fear God, Mister Immaculate?" As Throlar conversed with the boy, a group of foreigners approached the ruins stealthily. "This must be it... Looks imposing. The flag is a nice touch, I must add. How will we go about it, Althior?" -

Cally looked pleasantly surprised as Sarge takes out his magic compass. It indeed pointed to a distinct direction somewhere south-west. "Wow, you guys are amazing! Let's go save Brock! ... Oh, and your friend as well." "Hmm, the ruins seem to be way off my planned route, but I'm eager to see this through. I'm in no hurry, so I might as well keep travelling with you." The night and the thunderstorm passed as Sarge lead his companions through the strange plains towards the ruins, and morning dawned bright and clear in the western Darklands. Throlar watched from his cage as the mutant inhabitants of Transmogria wake up and begin their daily chores. Brock had been silent throughout the night, not answering Throlar inquiries. The misfortunate twist in his "grand adventure" had left the young man shocked, and being stuck in the company of a patronizing dwarf did not help. As Throlar stared at the busy mutants, a trio of children chasing a muddy pig approached the gate. A one-winged boy spotted Throlar and walked to him. "You killed my daddy last night", the boy said matter-of-factly. "God will punish you for that. Maybe he'll turn your hands into wings, like me and my dad's." What does Throlar respond? -

Two of the targets crumble to the ground, as if they were made of stone. Before Thalion realizes who his target is, he swipes some gold from Aunt Hymnessamine, confusing her greatly. Heckz confuses his target as well. The enemy does not attack again this round. It looks like the heroes are getting close to solving the mystery of the enchanted darkness... And judging from what I've seen from the windows, there's absolutely nothing outside." Karie then performs a miraculous feat and knocks on the door. She can hear whispering and a muffled cry from behind the door, before a juvenile male's voice shouts. "You can't get in! Go away!"

"*sob* What road? There's nothing but miles of wilderness between here and Vega. I told Brock we would get lost, but he just said we need to head west. *sob* But I don't know which way west is! *sob* And I don't want to go to Vega without Brock... *sob*" Maddog grins savagely. "Slaves? Isn't that the way you immaculates like to run things? Oppress and abuse people who are weaker or look different from you? You are in Transmogria, the safe haven for all the mutated. Occasionally, our patrols come across an immaculate or two - people untainted by the dark magic running wild in this land. They bring them here to be judged by our God. If the God deems them innocent, we will let them go. But if the God finds wickedness and scorn in their heart, He will punish them. Tomorrow, I will take you to the God to be judged as well." "B-but I haven't done anything!" "Then you should have nothing to fear, boy. But you can guess how many immaculates we've released during all these years." The mutant chieftain winks. "The number isn't large. Take these two to the pen!" The mutants pick the captives up roughly and push them to the wooden pen on the far side of the yard. Brock slumps to the ground, exhausted and terrified. "Why did this happen to me? Gosh, I hope Cally is okay... I miss home..." -
I've tried it on Ellaria before, and it looks fine, but I've used it for my NPCs too many times.

Karie takes her party through the Library into the foyer of the Auditorium. The statues of the twin gods Amadea and Melodion guard the entrance to the Auditorium, and opposite to the door is a familiar face. "YES, I'M HERE AS WELL. I MUST CONGRATULATE YOU ON HOW FAR YOU'VE COME. I DIDN'T THINK YOU'D LAST AN HOUR." Ignoring the Demon Door, Karie tries to open the doors to the Auditorium, but they won't budge. They're not locked, but barricaded from the other side. "What now?"

I know it looks a bit anachronistic, but it makes her stand out. Her new look is supposed to portray her as more of an "action girl", now that she is steadily gaining confidence. I think I'll keep her old hair in the end, though.

The spirits stay silent for a while, before starting to whisper again. "The immaculate speaks the truth, you know? We did this to ourselves." "We did this for our God, did you forget that? Funny, I would have expected to meet God by now." "Maybe Maddog lied to us? Maybe this God lied to him? Whatever it was, I don't really care anymore." "Hunt the immaculates and bring them to be judged by God. That was our task." "The ruins of Transmogria, that's where you will find your friends. And Maddog. And God." -
Here's a few alternative hairstyles for Ellaria. I'm actually really digging the beehive.
