Lego Technic Figures
lazylegoist replied to BasOne's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
They came with sets, but there were also packs with a only few figures in them. I don't think there was any female figure at all, so the Technic figures have the worst f/m ratio of all Lego figure lines. -
Thanks for your opinion. That leads me to another question; I got into Technic a year ago and don't have many PF parts yet (only those from 8109). But I plan on getting the 9398 offroader later this year and build my own RC vehicles. Is it worth getting two discounted XLs now for my parts collection, if I get 9398 anyway? On the motor comparison chart, I saw that they aren't that much stronger than the L-Motors, but that they have more torque and less speed, which I guess could be equalized by appropriate gearing. Or do I miss something? I guess my question is how the XL compares to the L motor. Best, LL.

At the first glance, I thought the first picture showed the original car. Very impressive model! Oh, and thanks for your (Sariel's) website as well - I learned a lot from it, and there's still so much more...

That's a very good looking body. You could make a very nice road car out of that if it weren't for the contest.

The truck is stunning, to say the least, but will your daughter ever allow you to take it apart? I see some Technic creations without black and grey in your future ;) BTW, your video isn't available for German viewers, because the GEMA likes us so very much ;) If it's not too much work, could you upload a version without music (or with GEMA-free music)?

Technic 1h 2013
lazylegoist replied to sama's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I rather like it, except for the color coordination, but that's hard to do for a b-model of a multicolored set. -
Hello everyone, I recently started building Technic. I don't have any pneumatics yet, but I really like them. However, I'm on a tight budget, and I definitely can't afford the Unimog at this time. However, a shop in my neighbourhood still has two 8049s, for 49€ each. Now I don't really think that 8049 is such a great set, but I've read somewhere that the pneumatic parts degrade over time, so I'd prefer to have new ones, and this set contains a nice selection. I was informed in the 2013 thread that none of the first half sets will contain pneumatics. So my question is: Do you expect pneumatics to come back after that, or will they be discontinued? Because if they will be back, I might just wait a while, hoping that the next pneumatic set will be better than 8049, but if not, I'll go out and spend my last Lego €€€s for this year on 8049. BTW, would you consider 49€ a fair price, or do you know a place where I can get it cheaper (I'm located in Germany)? Thanks for your input!

Thanks again for the warm welcome, everyone! Captainmib, I really liked your models, especially the plane. I built something else yesterday. It isn't really a C-Model, but still something nice to be built from the parts of 9391: The extra parts on the second picture are just quickly cobbled together to have a place to mount the drive shaft, and to hold the assembly in my hand to try it out. It works well, but it's obviously bulkier than the real Lego differential, and probably produces more friction as well. But as I don't yet have the Lego diff, I might actually use this in a vehicle soon.

I just finished my 9391-C: (Sorry about the picture quality, I don't have the necessary skills and equipment to do better) It's supposed to be some sort of anti-aircraft tank. The functions are controlled by turning the two yellow connectors on the side. The upper one rotates the turret, the lower one tilts the (non-functional) cannons. As I just started building Technic, I'm pretty pleased with it, but I'm sure there's room for improvement − I still had lots of pieces left (not many connectors though), and the chassis could be more rigid. Maybe the winch could somehow be incorporated as well.

Maybe you can get a legendary flagship set on the used market this time − unless you already have them all. -

Am I right in assuming that none of these will feature pneumatics? The Material Handler looks as if it used a linear actuator... -
Based on the word "buggy" I'd expect it to have wheels, but time will tell... The projected prices have been posted here before, by the same member who posted the set names (nrg): 70700 Galaxy Squad: 9,99 Euro 70701 Galaxy Squad: 19,99 70702 Galaxy Squad: 29,99 70703 Galaxy Squad: 39,99 70704 Galaxy Squad: 49,99 70705 Galaxy Squad: 69,99

Just from looking at the German and English names, I'd say that 0, 2 and 3 will be insects, while 1, 4 and 5 will be the human exterminators. And it looks as if 0,1,2 and probably 5 will fly, while 4 will be a ground vehicle, and 3 might be a ground-based insect with some jumping mechanism (working or fake). Like I said, just speculation based on the names. I signed up just to post in this thread, nice forum everybody :)
