I know that! I never said that it had an affect on ebay! I know I' angry, it's just I lost one of those auctions by $1! ARGGHH!
-
Hmmm, these look good, but I'm not sure as to whether or not I should bid. They look a little too good to be true (with prices for these soaring on Bricklink, reaching only $10 here), for as the saying goes, there's no free lunch.

Whoa! Hold off there, big fella, it's just an opinion!

Is it OK to mix dark skinned mini-figures with yellow mini-figures?
Adam replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Quite ! As Shoc wondered with me, it's quite the coincidence that they all have the same items and dog in their possesion ! Why, thank you for that brilliant exposé on what different colored minifigures could be used for in the Pirates theme ! TLC didn't make 'big Caribbean pirate ships', they made tiny 8 man pirate ships, so don't expect to have racial diversity on every one of them (). Why would they get sued for racial diversity? I expect they're more likely to get sued for not having racial diversity ! This topic isn't about adding racial diversity to MOCs, per say, but more to our pirate MOCs when we have a yellow crew. So, who is going to stop us? It's not the point. The first post even says "when adding racial diversity to your crew?" It's not a question of MOCs, it's a question of adding a dark-skinned minifigure to a crew of yellow minifigures on a small 8-12 man pirate ship. If you have a larger ship (I do! ), than it's a different story, but you have to think in context of the question... that's why it was posted in the Pirates forum . -

Yes. I noticed that Pual shaved and dyed/cut his hair black, Mary let down her hair and also died it black, you took a few years off your face, Daniel changed helmets and I have brown hair instead of black! -
Ummm.... I belive that's 6 votes so you are dead. In other, more exciting news, I've finished shaving and have changed into something more comftorble. Who cares? I care! So shut up, Bob! Insult me all you want. But be warned: I may be useful in battles. And how's that, Mr. Chilli Lovin' Foot Long Scaly Green Thing? Well, just know I wont be a foot long tommorow... more like fifty feet long. HA! Nothing grows that fast. We shall see ...
-
Huh ?!
-
Sexist . However, you are correct on your first point. Guess what? I finally found shaving cream! I was nearly going blind with my mustache, couldn't see Pual when he offered me a glass. I'm shaving now...
-
I'm not exactly a ladies man; I'm unmarried and single; so I just think that you're correct. It's people like Lt. GastroBlock that think like that.
-
You biased coward! First: I challenged you to a fencing match, not one of dice, stupid (OOC: That in itself was out of context; they didn't have dice games back then). Second: Dude, you are even more biased than I was in yesterday's character analysis! Byron rolls a 6! Byron wins every time! Byron this, Byron that! Here's some advice: You are never gonna win anyone over playing like that. In fact, it only makes me suspicous... AgentRick, that alibi sucked, frankly. I vote: Lady Suzanne/AgentRick. (OOC: ERMFH! You guys are still voting the wrong way!) Mary, excellently spoken, Lt. Gastro Biasbutt shouldn't swoo someone with rigged dice games nor should his posts be trusted! SHAME ON YOU BYRON!

I'd love to buy this, and I might have a chance, seeing as it ends in about 6 hours, but I don't really have $400 to spare, sadly.

By "these days" and "now" I usually mean within the last 15 years .

Is it OK to mix dark skinned mini-figures with yellow mini-figures?
Adam replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Well, we do most of the time, especially in Italy . Let me tell you, no current system of justice has hope the way we've been screwing things up! But a light shines somewhere... -
Now, since that's 6 votes, Lady Suzanne's dead. Sigh... well, another day flies by. Looks like we might have killed a loyalist. I still think we should give her a chance first, so I unvote: Lady Suzanne/AgentRick. Speak up or die! Now that it's 5 votes, you have a chance, but if you choose to ignore it, than I shall show no mercy. A soldier knows when to slice the enemy's neck when he is helpless before him, but he also knows when to give the enemy another chance, especially since that enemy might not be an enemy at all.

(OOC: We know you finished your vig, you've said it like 5 times! I did too, so nyah!) Kyle, I seriously doubt that you tortured Marcus out of information and found an entry about murdering the king in Lady Suzanne's diary, but I vote: Lady Suzanne/AgentRick anyway. If you say you did, Kyle, than what was her part in killing the king? Can you answer that!? (Guys, please, vote like you're supposed to by going vote: Castle Name/User Name or vote: Castle Name (User Name). It's the same with unvoting, and you guys have been bolding willie-nillie which can confuse anyone. Now posts with bold in it may be mistaken for votes, so please vote the right way.)

Oh, don't get me started. Bob was wimpering all night (Bob the chili-lizard- remember?) and I was up, locked in my room, working on this "Mystery Castle Vig" I had heard about.

I'll be lonely tonight... sigh. Blocky, I see you didn't challenge me- afriad of the awesome might of a member of the Royal Guard? Guys and Gals, we don't want ot kill of another person within a blink of an eye- that didn't work out that well last time. Here's some questions I've got: Rotrigous, what did you learn of Lady Suzanne? Lady Suzanne, where art thou? You better speak up... Mike, what's up? Find anything? Kyle, who did you torture this time? What did you find? Mary, care to... drop by some time? Blocky, why do you not fence me? Paul, did you spend another night drunk in the cellar or did you engage in something unhonorable? Lord Sarvil, umm... bonk anyone last night? Friar, hows the leg? Did you spend all night healing or were you doing something other than praying? Out of the goodness of my heart, here's another character analysi (traitors in bold, all dead in green, non players in italics): Lord Dragonator (non player) is out this week Majiko the Wizard (non player) is a really bad cook Lord Martin - deceased, condemned by vote, he wasn't very wise around the castle, and this got the loyalist voted off on the first night Mike (a servant) - deceased, stabbed at night by General Spencer, after some controversial comments were made against the General in question Ernest the Chef - deceased, committed suicide due to some accusations (and not posting), he made one good canoli General Marcus - deceased, condemned by vote, a traitor depicted in a painting by Ernst (the artist) killing Grim (which he was guilty of), Kyle witnessed Marcus' back, yet he was looking at his front... Michael (a soldier in the royal guard), a timid man with no real evidence against him Lord Savril, also gone this week, is reffered to as "Savy" by Mary, and is one to have "lead a traitor to death" (General Marcus), he "bonks" people, eliminating their night actions Lord Ash - deceased, condemned by vote, "lead to death" by Rotrigous, married to Lady Suzanne, a fellow traitor had it in for him Lord Gary, not much information on him, he is a simple castle-goer Lady Suzanne, highly suspected lately, and has endured a couple of votes, her husband's death, and a night with Rotrigous Grim (head of the royal guard) - deceased, killed at night by General Marcus, witnessed by Kyle with the killing taking place in front of Mary's room and discovered by Mary and Rotrigous General Spencer - deceased, condemned by vote, stabbed Mike for reasons stated above Mary (a maid) spends time with many men, including Rotrigous (called "Rits") and Lord Sarvil (known as "Savy), fencing matchs with her as the prize commonly take place Paul (the cellar keeper), consitantly drinks on the job, often found asleep in the cellar Daniel (a young squire) - deceased, crushed by a potato cart, another non poster Rotrigous (king’s advisor) is called "Rits" by Mary and has been "protecting" Lady Suzanne lately Calvin (a local fisherman) - deceased, condemned by vote, a mercinary hired by Lord Ash as a night investigator, threw fake evidence around Kyle (the castle torturer/executioner) is commonly scolded for torturing methods, he saw Grim's killing front on but described the villan's back Lieutenant Byron (of the royal guard) is commonly related to flatulence and poop jokes, he's a slightly moronic guard that is desperate for Mary's affection Friar Brown acts as the castle's priest, he was speared in the leg while drunk at the same time as Daniel's killing Damien (a doctor and herbalist) - deceased, condemned by vote, was hugely attached to his Indian faith, a wacko, frankly, that jumped off the battlements Fred (a soldier in the royal guard), well, me, a member of the Royal Guard that will be lonely tonight... sigh And there you have it! (OOC: Sorry, Dragonator and Majiko are supposed to be in italics)
-
Great MOC! You sure revamped that crumbling ruin I saw before! Looks awesome, great job .
-
TMI, Rotrigous, TMI . I've never "inspected" Lady Suzanne, but she never seemed to have a lot of... you know. In answer to your question, Blocky, only a sour, temper filled brat would still be angry about something two weeks a couple of days ago. In conclusion, I am totaly lost. Who can be a traitor? We killed a loyalist non-poster, is all. Actually, I've been wondering if the undead have a part to play (sorry for double post), as Grim was following close behind...

Can't wait, ~VBBN~. I probably won't buy it, but it'll be nice to see a review. Well, the awesome Mars Mission set was matched with an awesome review! Good job !

That's a good looking Air Marshal! I've just finished my vig (if you could call it that, it's so tall ), and I'm attempting to take pictures. Note the word 'attempt'. The thing's so gigantic (it's still on a 8x8 base) that it falls over whenever I put it together, and I stink at taking pictures. On the whole it doesn't look impressive, but each little part has it's own story (well, sort of). No, I'm not giving anything away, but just know that it has badly put on decals provided by Cpt. PB and LuxorV (thanks a ton!). -
Is it OK to mix dark skinned mini-figures with yellow mini-figures?
Adam replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hmm, where has he been living... Captain green hair, perhaps you can answer that question . Well, consider this: Perhaps our green haired friend did not play with Duplo as a child and is associating it with the various knowledge of LEGO sets- that liscenced themes are generally the only ones to contained flesh-toned minifigures. I don't see race, so I always didn't care what color my minifgures were. For me, adding a dark skinned minifigure to a group of yellow minifigures is alright under specific ocasions: If you have a couple of dark skinned minifgure (and there aren't many different heads for them) and a lot of yellow minifigures, it seems odd that there are so few, and the whole thing seems akward. It's not always like that, but let's say you have twenty dark skinned minifigures and, say, two hundred yellow minifigures (this isn't random, I'm afiliating these numbers to the minifig count of a friend of mine; I have far more yellow than dark-skinnd minifgures), and you want to put all of them into, say, a large City MOC, it would seem... akward and, to some, very disturbing. For me, it depends both on what the minfigures shall be used in and how many there are. It's only really wierd if it's public, see. I'm definately not against dark skinned minifigures, exactly the opposite, but certain uses/amounts can be offensive, as are certain coments that have and undoubtedly will come up in this topic. Others simply say they don't want to mix, or benign reasons like that, but this really differs from person to person. In closing, yes, it is alright, but be careful with how you display your mixings. Also, none of this is meant to be offensive, and I apologize if it is, and also hope that this does not start a string of replies and arguments, as quoting person to person becomes tiring. -
Yeah, I can get to sleep all by myself! I can even play stones by myself... though it isn't fun. Us members of the Royal Guard are trained to fight, think, and protect, not fool around.

With a sudden realization, Fred learned two things: The first (and the most obvious) being that Byron had gone barking mad, going senile no doubt. The second was that there is more to Mary than meets the eye (don't mention the physical aspects, Sarvil! ); she plays off people and can learn more and more, going for older lords and younger squires. It also occurred to him that it was odd she wasn't visiting members of the Royal Guard at night ( ).
