Because of my profession I'm daily in contact with art in it's different ways (drawings, 3D, film, paintings, ect). But what I like the most is art with a twist. Especially if it are 2 opposite subject that are combined or if it's absurt. Lego is one of those subject that artist use. And some good stuff is around. So share your findings with us. But please let it be of somekind of quality ! One of the few Lego artist on the globe is Nathan Sawaya. But I think we all know him and done need a introduction. Then there is also Jan Vormann who also use Lego in his work. We best know him from the Giant Lego MiniFig on the beach. In one of his latest project he filled in all the cracks in the walls with painstakingly clicked-together patches made from Lego’s. Very cool IMO! Gives off the vibe that the entire city buildings are fabricated from Lego’s and their rustic outer layers of mud bricks are breaking off exposing the fun beneath! Artist like Balakov re-create famous photos in Lego form. Classic stuff and basic knowledge for a Lego fan IMO. You can see them all here and here Other artist imitate Fine Art and some do it well. The remake of Edward Hopper’s “Nighthawks” (by udronotto). The remake of Rembrandt's "The Anatomy Lecture of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp" (by ?) The remake of René Magritte's "Le fils de l'homme" (by Balakov) And others imitate famous movie posters and redo it with Lego characters. I give you just a few or better said the ones I like and best match the original IMO. Some 2D artist combined their art with Lego (by ?) Some 3D artist artist combined their art with Lego. - Anatomy Of A Lego Minifig (by jason Freeny aka Moist Production). One of the best designes IMO. - Life-size LEGO man out of cardboard and hot glue. It is complete with rotating and removable body parts (by ?). Stunning advertisements by different advertising agency. - By McCann (Portugal) for the Campaign Against the Cholesterol - By Blattner Brunner for S.W. But please don't start a game from good or bad. That's not the idea behind this thread. - By ??? What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Capt. Kirk replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Little off topic but because I asked for a theme like the 'French Foreign Legionairs (aka Adventurers theme)' this is how a camel in Lego could look like. I know it's not the best creation ever - and not by me - but it's just a thought (although the head is very Lego-ish IMO). -
Good luck guys !!!

--> Please give Soman a break. Soman is young guy and it's his first time he tries something like this. We all have to start somewhere... with other words, we all have to crawl first, then walk and then run. Maybe in the future he will amaze us with his work. Constructive criticism was perhaps better placed instead of the given comment. And please be carefull with the smilies, in particular the green one ( )!!! --> Please soman don't let this one comment hold you back from posting other creations. Clone Killer probably don't mean this bad and just has given he's honest opinion. But like I said; constructive criticism was perhaps better placed !!!

--> Especially for Sandy I made a female Klingon (added in the first post)... -
--> In way is good to hear that you think the same and believe me we're not alone... but I'm affraid that the Staffmembers don' see it or maybe better said, don't want to see the problem. And like you said, if the staffmembers also reacted, I think you would have a bigger urge to go to a club event... that's 100% right Matn. But if they wish to do it the other way that's their problem IMO. And wish them all the best in the future... the gone need it if they want to survive. --> You got a piont and I understand you. Keep it up and see you !!!
