I agree with this. One of the main reason why we should TRY to use correct spelling and grammar is that people from over the world visit this forum and not all have English as their native language. So if we gone use slang spelling, like I call it, then it is not always very readable. With the consequence that a none English speaking member not always understand what is said… read misunderstandings, no reply, dead topic.

MiniFigure Head decals (130 facial expressions)
Capt. Kirk replied to Capt. Kirk's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
--> Thx clone killer. --> I added 3 faces with a sigar... --> Yee eat an apple --> Thx Penguin... much appreciated and your welcome !!! --> When I'm finished with the yellow ones I gone make them with a transparent background... maybe this is better then a flesh coloured background (?). But if you want flesh, just say it and I'll do it. But please give the RGB or CMYK colour model if you want the flesh (or do you use the MCW colour chart ???). --> @ Rubén Riojas: push me --> @ exxtrooper,... just added new ones. --> Normally these were the last, but I gone do another 26 and then it's over. --> I think that there are more than enough and I did my 2 cents but if someone has still a request then let me know by means of PM. --> Yep (see below). But I gone do some female faces to for our Lego Ladies. In particular for Sandy otherwise she will kill me... :skull: ... --> That's good news !!! -

Capt. Kirk replied to Capt. Kirk's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
--> Thx for the kind words Commander Flash... much appreciated !!! --> Thx for the kind words Eilif... much appreciated !!! --> I hope so, because I designed them to help the EB community... . --> Also because I saw that there wasn't anything like this in the index... and I thought it could be handy. --> NP... but for the record,... the old one hé !?! --> --> Or the modern one with the twinkle in his eyes ?!? --> Only 26 to go, so by the end of the week they're posted (yellow & transparent)... is that OK for you ? --> NP Natman8000,... but 2 questions: 1) Which TLC skull design do you want ? 2) Which smiley,... the classic or the modern with the twinkle in the eys ? --> Thx clone killer !!! --> I just added 26 new ones and 26 will be added soon... so we got 104 different expressions, that must be enough... --> But I will do some requests if necessary. --> Thx Marco !!! --> I saw that nobody really made these and like you said,... they could be used in every theme. --> Just put it on the EB frontpage and we're even, otherwise I have to punch you... --> Thx exxtrooper for the kind words... --> Thx Hound Knight !!! --> Thx for the appreciation Rubén Riojas. --> But sorry for your question,... I can't answer that because the correct dimensions for the decal I can't say at the moment (must look it up),... but can someone just say them please. --> If someone just gives the answer, then you can select and copy the one you want to PowerPoint or Word and do some adaptations (image size). -

Classic Star Trek decals (Head & Torso)
Capt. Kirk replied to Capt. Kirk's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I added the Cherons (Black/White & White/Black race)... maybe my fast decal design ever... --> @ Captain Green Hair... I understand the confusion with my nickname but I’m not really a trekkie, I’m more a Star Wars fan. Although I like the original series a lot. But for you Rick I'll fight the klingons with just my baseball cap. --> Thx Rick... and is always my goal to let it look as Lego-ish as possible. Not always that easy. I had a lot of problems with the Salt Vampire... I think I made 5-6 versions of it on paper. Eventually after 3 versions in Illustrator I found the one that satisfied me with just the right amount of details. But sometimes you have to make choices like with the Mugato (horned ape), the Tellarites (pig faced race) and the Andorians (blue race with antennae’s). The problem with the Mugato and the Tellarites was the nose because normally minifigures don’t have a nose. But sometimes it’s part of the character and you have to add it for the recognition. With the Andorians it where the antennae’s. I try to add them on the front & side in a designed version but this was silly. Manly because they’re on the “back” of their head. --> I gone do some... I just have to order some decal paper... I need it anyway for the contest on Minifig Customisation Workshop. --> @ Asuka,... I'm happy that you like them... I spend a lot of time on them... those damn antennea's... --> @ Bartram,... thx for the kind words. -
Very very nice...

I added The Tellarites (the one with the pig face)... although I must say that I'm not sure about the belt because it was hard to find some good images. Hope you like it... But now I do not know what race I would take... any suggestions ??? -

The different prices on LEGO in the US vs. Europe
Capt. Kirk replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I found this on BrothersBrick. Brothers Brick: I’m sure many LEGO fans across the world have wondered why the US has the lowest LEGO prices while countries in Europe and Asia have significantly higher prices, oftentimes twice that of the MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) for a LEGO set in the US. There are even countries where LEGO costs up to three or four times the prices in the US. Here is the answer from Mads Nipper of LEGO’s Corporate Management. Lego Company: Our selling costs in Europe and Asia are higher than in the US because of the size of US market and retailers (economies of scale). Furthermore, the US market is by far the most price competitive in the world. These factors combined mean that we have for years priced our products higher in eg Europe than the US. In recent years, the difference has been increased due to the weakening US dollar - but we have consciously decided not to let this (hopefully short term) weakening of the dollar hurt the US consumer. And in order to stay profitable as a company, we cannot decrease our European prices - especially seen in the light of increasing cost pressure on oil, labor etc. Finally, final pricing in the market place is obviously determined by retailers, which is something we cannot and will not influence. -
--> I don't know... my advice would be that you try it first on a printed brick or torso that you don't find important before you use it on the good stuff. But I do know that gold print is delicate... and will fade.

Quote: I know it's hard to tell from the poor pictures but this method really brings out colour and removes yellow from old Lego! (You can see it best on the 1x2 grey brick) The 2x8 plates are in good condition for comparision. Method; take bricks add one scoop of oxy-type stain remover and enough 30% hydrogen peroxide (I 'borrowed 'this from work but I think pharmacists sell it) to cover and leave in the sun for 2 hours. I was amazed at the results, however it may make the bricks brittle with time but they seem fine now. Inspired by this retr0bright.wikispaces If you want to ask roguebantha_1138 questions... push me
