  4. Bad news... A few years back I helped out some family with some issues and ended up accumulating a fair amount of debt. I was actually hoping to have all of that paid off by 2012, but looks like it's not going to happen. The bad part is it's not even mine (deceased family members, many details I'm just not going to go into on the internet, you all understand), but since my name was linked to things, I got dragged along. And since the car is getting to that stage where it's almost time to go and I need to get these bills cleaned up, looks like I am going to have to do what I didn't want to do. I think it's time to sell the bike. Sure, it sucks, but I've been thinking on this for many weeks now. Gotta have a car for Chicagoland year round, a motorcycle just won't cut it. I need to get rid of these bills because I'm just tired of this cloud always following me around. For the last year, I really haven't been able to get out, more like just 'floating along.' So, looks like that's my best option right now. Take whatever I can get and apply it towards these bills to get out of the red. Sure, I'll get another one, just couldn't tell ya when. I just felt like telling you guys so when you see I no longer have the motorcycle tag, you would all know why. Slightly saddened, but actually doing ok with this decision... Stash
  5. I did, I had a great time! Got to relax with a few friends and enjoyed the week I had off for vacation. I did absolutely nothing and it was wonderful. Ok, I cleaned the LEGO room up a bit and adjusted a few of my sorting drawers, otherwise I'll get yelled at by Europeans and an Aussie in mid-June.
  6. Not much more to be said than what has already been typed up; these are really great! All those little details really makes each one fascinating.
  7. I believe Brickworld-Indianapolis and Brickworld-Ft. Wayne are both by invite only. So if the same people are invited, you may see some of the same displays. The original Brickworld, in Chicago, is much bigger then either of these. At the current location, Brickworld-Chicago fills four massive rooms. Of course, many of the people who show up at Brickworld-Chicago have also been invited to attend one of the other Brickworlds so there is a good chance you will see some repetition...but there are always plenty of new items to be seen. Glad you enjoyed your first LEGO show! Really though, don't be intimidated or shy. Many of the builders in this hobby are really social and always willing to answer questions or show techniques to someone who is genuinely interested. And if they are cocky and act like an megablocks, call 'em out here! This way, those of us that know them can bust their chops for a year!!!
  8. 4 posts, holy shit! Well, that site has changed a lot since when I used to frequent it way back in the day. Yeah, maybe making up a back story and calling it Star Wars doesn't work for you now, but didn't it work for you as a child when you wanted to create things? Sorry, not trying to start a fight; that's the farthest thing from what I want to do. I just want to bring up discussion. For example, I think the whole idea about Trandoshans as super hunters who count their kills and use them as points for some all powerful "God-Like Entity" known as the Scorekeeper is just ridiculous to me. Sure, original ESB Bossk and Clone Wars Bossk with young Boba looked nasty as hell, but after the episode of Clone Wars from last season where the lost Padawans ended up fighting with Chewie against Trandoshans, it just reminded me of Predators. Now, the average fan knows what canon is, but they aren't going to know about different levels of canon, and probably won't care. Which is fine, some care more than others, no problem there. I don't know. I guess I don't mind fanon creations. I've built some ships when I was younger with my brothers and said they were part of the SW Universe, and they were because in my mind, as a child, I thought it was awesome to meet up with Han Solo and Chewie and whoever else we used. That's the fun of it, I can make stuff up with my LEGO! And that's exactly what Star Wars is...made up fantasy.
  9. IF you were old enough and knew the backstory...the M-Wing (Jon Palmer's design) was designed as a spy ship used by the Rebel Alliance to get in and get out quickly. It was built as part of a larger project, to create ships using the unused letters of the alphabet. Not quite sure how much FBTB 'loves it' as some of you say, but I remember starting to get back into LEGO big time and I remember all of these wild custom ships. Those M-Wings came out at a time when the online LEGO fan aspect was really taking off and for that, it is still today one of my favorite MOCs ever made! You may not like them, and that's fine. Just try to be respectful. And I think that's the point. Fanon, Canon...it's all made up shit; some by fans, some by Lucas! Many MOCers feel that the version they build is the best, and that's fine. We can argue all day about how the original 3 movies are the end all be all for the Star Wars Universe. Or we can just enjoy what others make. To be honest, I am actually entertained at how crazy and passionate some of you get when you disagree about something in the Star Wars Universe.
  10. Yes, they should have, and I suggested it to LEGO a year ago when the game actually came out. And so far........ They should have also made a set of Clutch Powers minifigures. Oh well.
  11. Might be there, all depends on how free I am that weekend. Can't afford to head out to Brickcon this year, but depending on if I can get any other NILTC members, we might make a trip.
  12. The cases in stores are NOT 'K boxes;' that's what I have been told. We just simply refer to them as cases. Thanks for the info all.
  13. Sorry, I seem to be having a difficult time getting a "complete" answer here on my end. What exactly is a "K" box? Can someone be specific and actually describe it please? Also...I cannot ship out overseas. Talk to the stores near you first, please. They can, and will, help. If they don't, then let me know.
  14. Which store was this? I will edit with some pics as soon as I can.
  15. Every damn day! It's just what I do. I don't go out of my way to buy gifts for people though, but I think it's fair to say that I encourage people to 'get' LEGO products!
  16. If you want the list, I need you to PM me your real email addresses. Thanks. Guys that already sent them, they will go out soon, thanks.
  17. Fool Moon Festival is hilarious! Hinckley made an appearance, I didn't know that costume was available. Also, the antics with the clown and cheerleader, right on the street...there's a reason so many people read these mafia games!
  18. I do, I just finished updating it and am more than happy to send it out to you tonight after I get home from work...Most likely around dinner time for you!
  19. So, how was the meeting? I really wanted to ride out and show some support, but I had to work and there was no way to switch things around.
  20. Kinda. I am more than happy to ship PAB from my store; I do it all the time. As for Columbus, I have no idea what they have in stock.
  21. Welcome K-nut. I am also from Chicagoland, the suburbs as many of my friends here on EB like to remind me. If you ever make it into the Woodfield LEGO store, you should let me know ahead of time so we can meet up.
  22. I don't work a lot of Sundays, I try to keep it as my one regular day off...for riding, family, and socializing. However, if I have a better idea of when you are visiting I can try to prep for it. Would you like to know more about what's available at Woodfield? You should send me a pm and I can get you some more info. I've got a big Autism Ride in Mid-September so that's one I really hate to miss. Let me know more.
  23. Happy Birthday Pandora, looking forward to "tea time!"
  24. So... Anyone played since the new patch/upgrade the other day? I started a new guy but can't seem to find the last flag in Avant Gardens near the launch pad behind all of the vendors. They put a property launch pad in there and now there is no flag? Need one more and I can't find it! Not sure if I like the cape idea yet or not. Anyone higher than level 40? I fear they cap off at 40. Just thought I would check. Only a few more months before I stop subscription and go play something else.
