CMF Elf Im not really a huge fan of the LOTR/Hobbit elf minifigures, they have nice details in the printing but its the hair/ear piece that really bothers me. I think its the widows peak they've all got going on, it gives all the elves ti ny foreheads

CCCX Avalanche at Deadman's Gorge

oh wow, this is beautiful those trees... -
I wonder if Thorin's hair mould fits on Gandalf's head while hes got the beard, I think if it did and they made it light bluish grey, then gandalf would look a lot better. He looks kind of bald with just that wizards hat.

what colour are the teeth pieces in the portcullis? they look like light bluish grey but i didn't think they came in that colour. the whole thing is stunning by the way

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
ramjarjamjar replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This wave is kind of a mixed bag, the phase 2 clones look off to me, maybe they look better in person, i don't know. I dont like that the 212th clone looks yellow instead of orange as well. -
I saw an interview with dave filoni, where he said that we'll see about as much commander cody in season 5 as we did in season 4 which is very disappointing. I dont think that lowers our chances of getting a commander cody figure, i mean Wolffe isnt really a major character and they made figures of bombsquad troopers and horn? company and literally noone cares about them.

It kind of looks like they are jousting? maybe thats what this theme will about Vehicle battles? with the spinner type mechanisms or whatever incorporated into the actual sets/vehicles, instead of being separate like in ninjago? i dont know anyway, at the moment this theme doesn't really interest me

Review: 9489 Endor Rebel & Imperial Trooper BP
ramjarjamjar replied to mutley777's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I agree if any of those figures needed a redesign it was the scout trooper, not the stormtrooper. I mean look at what lego was able to do with the ARF trooper from the clone wars. At the very least they could have put some printing on the legs, black for the the parts of the scout troopers legs that aren't armoured. That would make it a little more screen accurate. -
LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors

I've just realised, only 2 clone troopers in the battle pack?? That is incredibly disappointing as i'm assuming the droidekas will be brick built. I'd want a bit more than 2 minifigs from a battlepack. -

Do we think that the clones in he battle pack will be plain white ones or will we get a variety? 2 plain plain ones, a 212th and a 501st trooper would be nice but i expect them to save any interesting looking clones for the more expensive sets. -
Are the mask and the red piece on the helmet asymmetrical or is it just the way the page is sitting distorting it?

Empire revolutionary research in transportation

I think it was Joe Johnston who designed the turbo tank style ATAT. Ralph McQuarrie's artwork though is beautiful. Its a great shame that he passed away earlier this year. Do you think its possible that lego will ever make sets based on the concepts from the film? They've made action figures of the concepts before. I'd love a McQuarrie Starkiller/Skywalker minifigure, maybe even a concept Boba Fett. They could reuse the mould for a Rako Hardeen minifigure. -
I picked up the monster set at the Lego store in Shepherds Bush in London. Didn't see the Rock band set. The set is a lot smaller than i was expecting and to be honest I don't think its worth buying unless you really want a zombie. I say this because the witch is the same as the series 2 one and the ghost is available in other sets, here in the the uk the ghost polybag is being given away free in the sun newspaper promotion. Another thing, and i'm sure this doesn't bother a lot of people, but the packaging looks really cheap. I don't remember how it was done with the beach set but with this one the box art has been printed directly onto the plastic. and I don't know whether this was because of the way it was printed but the image looks really blurry, it had the same quality of a printout from a cheap inkjet printer. Also, (I know, I like to complain) is that in the image, you can see that the printed tile with the bat on it is sticker, the kind you see on prototype pieces on minifigures in the actual set its a sticker. Also the witch has grey hands in the image, but black in the actual set. It looks like they have used the preliminary images of the set on the actual packaging. I originally thought that the images posted here earlier were only preliminary and that the packaging would be updated when the sets actually go on the shelves. The same seems to be true of the rock band set, as you can see in this image that the mohawk piece is the original magenta one painted lime green, you can see the magenta coming through. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/grogall/Minifigures/850486/850486_alt1.jpg

http://thebrickblogger.com/2011/01/lego-glued-magnet-removal/ Apparently you can boil them to loosen the bond of the glue and then pull them apart. should be easy to replace the legs on those minifigures as there is no printing on them too. Ive never tried it myself but I might do to get a hold of that ringwraith. Also you can remove the key chains with a soldering iron, the figs will be left with a hole in the head though.

I don't know if anyone has done this, but I did a quick photoshop to see what the Aragorn minifigure would like with different colours. http://www.flickr.com/photos/84433662@N02/7732562072/ LEGO Aragorn Recolour by ramjarjamjar, on Flickr

The republic assault striker could possibly be an Acclamator I-class assault ship. They are also referred to as republic assault ships. They appear in episode 2 on coruscant loading up clones at the end of the movie. That could mean the set has a phase 1 clone pilot which would be disappointing. -
I don't like that the packaging is twice the size that it should be.

VIP Exclusive 850458 LEGO® Minifigures set
ramjarjamjar replied to Thego's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I've seen series 4 minifigures appear again in the Entertainer toy shops recently here in the UK. I found this pretty annoying because i bought the VIP set as i hadn't started seriously collecting the minifigures until series 5 and back then I didn't think I would be able to get a hold of those particular minifgures so easily.
