that looks awesome, especially due to the small scale. I'd love to see someone knock up a full countryside of micro lego including castles, rivers mountains the lot...

Great set imo, and while the price feels a little more than 'd like for a mid set, I remind myself we get 6 figures, a building which cttaches onto the helms deep or another of the same set as this, and you see how much potential this has. I've picked up three of this, and I could happily get another 7 odd to get the mini figs and more castle building parts.

This says exactly what I want to say, top work sir, and I'm looking forward to more of your work for sure.

Wow, the progression pics of this make it look even more awesome, keep going sir, I want to see pics of this completed and then again during a time of war with armies on it marching, fighting, and castle sieges.

Now you just need 8x that same amount and you're full orc army like in the film is ready to siege helms deep properly.

Very nice looking, liking the spears alot

Awesome looking! that's a ton of rooms and detail through out, now if only it would be a proper set as I'd love one to add to my Medieval town :(

Great looking Moc, love the amount of detals in glasses and barrels etc.

Literally 10 minutes ago in work. Girl walked past and I noticed her top and shirt etc all tucked into her pants (Wearing skirt), pointed this out to her so she wouldn't get caught doing it and said I was being kind doing so, then realised everyone else I the office could and had heard me... doh. Mission failed.

The "I can't believe these are so expensive" red windows..

$1.80 per one assuming you get 10 per winning bid, not the worst I suppose guessing 1.8 dollars to swap to £1.15. Still feels odd paying a pound a piece roughly to me though for the smaller lego pieces. -
Welcome to the forums, :)

Welcome to the forums, Hope you're also enjoying making the LOTR sets :)

Very nicely done, like how you did the water around the two.

Needs some Vikings trying to stab and tie ti down with ropes :) But great looking build regardless.

Great looking building, any plans to build matching buildings? would look great as a small group of structures with that style of look.

Great looking set, the Warf looks awesome, and personally I'd love one for my collection. As you say there is alot going on, its a good size of a set, and could really slot in with others to make a cool little shoreline fort/castle... Great little series you've done, especially the guild hall and the gatehouse. I'd love to own the series personally.

Good point, I suspect they'd make it on a blue water base with only part of the head showing and tenticles coming out of the base. that could ruin its look a bit possibly.

I've been adding the LOTR orcs with the older kingdom ones, really makes for a nice ragtag orc looking force... and makes it double easy to collect an orc type army

I hope you're right, just wish they'd add another mines part on the leadup to the trol room, maybe the huge dwarf room with all the coumns or such, then yo cuold put it on baseplates for a great display. The spider they made was quite well done, I'm assuming they could use the same sort of legs and parts to make a squid type lurker.

Good to see I'm not just being over keen on what auctions say and should have. Has been a pain sorcing the older bricks, and I think i'd agree on what you said about the sellers, some just bundle the stuff up in bags which is a nightmare to try to work with. Time to fire off a few pm's to sellers it seems.

Hey, I don't intend this to be a rant thread so please do not think i'm going there, what I am interested in is people's opinions when buying lego sets online. As an example of this I've purchased a fair few sets for my collection, and I've noticed even when people list the sets as complete there (In only a few cases) is usually a piece or two missing... normally I'd not mind but when its the older sets and you want to get a complete set trying to find vintage pieces to replace these is hassle and more money... this narks me a little as the reason I'm getting the sets is to complete them all. missing bricks take away from that. Another is how they swap bricks without mentioning it, even 1-2 bricks swapped (Sometimes not the exact same size or colour) an example of this being how I've recieved a set with a red double sided sloped brick which was 2x2 instead of the 3x2 it should have been. Am I just being too fussy a collector, or are these sort of things worth hassling them over for replacement parts / missing parts because personally having to go looking for them myself now... Just wanting to see what others think to see if I need to relax my expectations or should I be kicking up a fuss

Thinking about this set more, I almost wish they'd broken it into 2 seperate sets, each set giving half the fellowship. goblins in both, and one having the troll and one the balrog. It would have allowed for more columns and mine pieces and also given people the option to purchase one set for fun, or both sets for a seriously big mine... one prt of the set could be as it is with the current items, and the other could be more columns, walls and the entrance door from the outside. Who wouldn't love a bigger mine with all that extra detail. And that could also lead in to a outside set vs the kraken or whatever it was called in the pond, that would cover a huge chunk of the story from the film right there.
