LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion
SFmuscle73 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't think we have seen that tired head piece in dark red that could have been an option :) -
I was hoping that the ferry ways more substantial :(

I think the above version of Market Street looks even better than the original. I like all the substitutions. I’ve never been a fan of this Modular, but this version might persuade me yet! I might do one silly, simple edit. I would put 1x1 round white tiles on the top open studs of the (4) white curved fences. I think it will give it further texture. It really looks great! Good job!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
SFmuscle73 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
If it is a Corner Bank, I’d like to hear some folks speculations on what some set details might be based on the recent trends in the modular series. With the move to more heavily furnished interiors, I think the likelihood of a 3-story interior is slim. I suppose it may have a 2-story interior or maybe even just a single, main floor that has an interior height that is 2-stories tall which is common in some older banks. I suppose we may even get a time era armored car & if done right could be cool. There are quite a few folks that post here & speak to price per piece count. If the set is 150 Euros as has been noted, can we make some assumptions based on past releases of modular in this price range? Which Modulars were in this price point? -

I’ve just been assuming (anyone else agree?) that if we are getting a Ghostbuster Headquarters in January than the Annual Modular will be pushed for a later release date in 2016. I think that level of detail that’s been hinted for the Ghostbuster Headquarters is supposed to appeal to the Modular Builders too. If they release them too close to each other, than one might not sell as well. -

I would love for LEGO to come out with a book that captures the design process that went into making the past modulars and included some study/early modules that lead to the final product. They could interview Jamie & Astrid and answer questions on where they get their ideas from and so on... They already have a book like that for the minifigures, so why not the modulars? I'd love to hear the story behind the creations... What are people's thoughts on this idea? -

Yes Agent 86 that’s the Arcade Gamer I was thinking of! My thoughts are all speculation of course, but I was trying to figure out why an Arcade Gamer would be a Dimensions figure (what LEGO world does he link to?) and then I remembered the Modular Arcade rumor. Perhaps (again speculation) this minifigure links the Modular Builder Fans to the Dimensions game which is really about all the LEGO worlds coming together. Anyone who’s both a Modular fan and a Dimensions fan know what’s driving that character from the Dimensions side? I also believe the Dimensions characters are being released in a series of waves and the Arcade Gamer is in Wave 4? Does anyone have any firm timeline of when that Dimensions Wave 4 is coming out? It might be nice to speculate that timeline against the anticipated Modular release. Anyway it gives us something to talk about! -

Does anyone think the possibility of an arcade modular has any relation to the Dimensions Character "71235" the "arcade player". I saw what looks like an arcade player revealed at The Brick Fan site a few days ago. I'm not sure how to post the link. Can someone post the link here for discussion? -
REVIEW: 71010 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14

Thanks for the awesome review! I certainly don't like the distribution ratio though :(. Can you recap which figures have the bendy rubber molds? It helps for identifying in the blind bags. -

When information is leaked or published in sales without permission, it is often pulled with an explanation that “the information was incorrect or not final”, but in the end it is generally pretty close to accurate. I thought the deli concept whether it was a large modular or one of the smaller creator shops was a plausible leak. I thought they had enough meat LEGO parts, steak bone, chicken leg and sausage/hot dog parts that the deli could have a butcher. If the release is in January 2016, we have a few more months to wait for more info. When has the press release typically been for January modular sets? -

I thought GE was not by Jamie. I thought I read that somewhere. Can anyone confirm? This was an interesting question Mogwai150! -

I was really hoping for a more typical building like a bank, police precinct, post office, hospital, school etc. I was hoping that some of the newer civilian torsos from The Lego Movie would influence a structure. Some examples: For a hospital: Dr. McScrubs from The Flying Flusher or for an Ice Cream Store Ice Cream Mike & Ice Cream Jo from the Ice Cream Machine. Perhaps even a Post Office using the new Postman torso from Ninjago Temple of Airjizu. Yep, I know torsos hardly influence a modular building type, but I was really hoping for a more common building type vs. an arcade no matter how cool it might be… I think this message board is filled with similar wishes. -
I have been saving boxes from some of the more expensive sets that I have purchased over the last 8 years. It’s time to find a way to store these boxes efficiently and also preserve the boxes from further damage. I’d like to hear some examples of how folks are doing that.

I think there has been good precedent that the next modular will be a corner building based on the pattern of previous releases. I guess I just don’t think of a Museum working as well as a corner building than say a Bank. If we take the leap of faith the next modular will be a corner building, what building type do you think would be well suited for that condition. I am sure there are exceptions, but most Museums that I am familiar with have a more frontal approach as the Town Hall did. I am interested in hearing everyone’s thoughts on what building type Bank, Post Office, Hospital, etc. would be best suited for a corner building style. -
I am wondering how many of those printed items are stickers....

There are a lot of new minifig torsos that came out with the LEGO Junior sets this year. Hopefully we see some of them incorporated into the new 2016 Creator Modular like we have seen the new torsos in the 2015 Creator Ferris Wheel. I really, really wish LEGO would give us some teaser on the 2016 Modular set! -

I don't understand how the cat like women quantifies as a "monster" if the series is to be called "Monster Series" or something to that effect. In fact, I always thought she would make an excellent Cheetah for Wonder Women fans. -

Has there been any word that for 2016 they will release the second series of the Mini Modules to include PS, TH, PC, PR & DO? Does anyone remember what month the first set came out in? -
I am currently working on my Café Corner. I have combined two Café Corners side by side and its about 85% complete. As an example, the Ground Floor is open across the two models and creates one large Café. But getting back to your original question, the hardest part about doing a layout across for the 2nd & 3rd floor hotel is that the windows do not line up in elevation, so the floor plans will vary - for better or worse. I also made a modification for the 2nd & 3rd floors and I squared of their inverted back corner such that is has a similar effect as the backside of the Grand Emporium. By squaring off that back corner, I gained more interior space for hotel use. I am currently working on the flat roof above the dark red slope bricks and as I have made some serious modifications - it's been a challenge! Once I finished the model I will be posting my first AFOL pictures ever - probably three months out or so.

Least Successful Collectable Minifig
SFmuscle73 replied to Mr. Elijah Timms's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Here’s a list of my least liked collectable minifigures: Series 1: Deep Sea Diver – I suppose I don’t like the blue & orange color combo. Maybe a different shade of blue would have improved my feelings toward him. Series 2: Witch – I think it’s the hat that I don’t like. If the hat had some printing on it like for the buckle, then she would have been redeemed for me. Series 3: Space Alien – I just don’t like the head mold. Series 4: Ice Skater – I generally don’t like LEGO cloth dresses. I would have preferred for it to be a standard leg print. If a person wanted to pose the ice skater, the cloth dress generally prohibits such movement. Series 5: Fitness Instructor – She gets two strikes from me. Strike 1: While I know she represents the colors from the 80’s, I wish they had found an ensemble of other 1980’s colors to use. Strike 2: If her hair color wasn’t a duplicate from the Series 2 Pop Star, I likely would have overlooked the torso colors. Series 6: Minotaur – I don’t generally dislike any minifigures from Series 6, but I think the head should have had additional printing. Series 7: Daredevil – I barely like the Series 3 Race Car Driver, and I like the Daredevil even less. What’s the point of either minifigure without their car, plane or motor bike (which their inclusions would not be expected in these small packs)? Series 8: Businessman – I also don’t generally dislike any minifigures from Series 8, I just think we have enough minifigures in suits already if pressed to pick one. Series 9: Roller Derby Girl – I guess I don’t like the blue & red color combo. Just like my Deep Sea Diver comment maybe a different shade of blue or red would have improved my feelings toward her. Series 10: Skydiver – I think he should have been doubled headed with a face expression before the jump and then the face expression after the jump as included. Series 11: Lady Robot – I just don’t see the point! Series 12: Swashbuckler – He’s too similar to the Series 4 Musketeer for my liking. -

If the hope is that we go with some of the pieces that are being used in the Elves Line or the Friends’ Grand Hotel, then at least for me that calls for something from an Art Nouveau architecture style like the Confiteria El Molino that I am not sure I attached successfully. That style of architecture is very, very intricate and would definitely be a very different feel than the DO. Anyone think we will ever see a façade as intricate as Café Corner again? I personally wasn’t banking on it, but would be pleasantly surprised. What are the rest of your opinions on an Art Nouveau influenced Modular?
