LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
SFmuscle73 replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I think the closest we will ever get to a school in the city line is a police academy as LEGO loves them any police themed set no matter how far a stretch - sky police anyone? -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
SFmuscle73 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I think they need to announce the next modular focus immediately, such that the corresponding vehicle in question would be a logical match. Sure that means announcing the building type early, but I don’t think any of the modular fans would argue otherwise! Anyone else support me on this? -

Toy Shop really? They just released a Toy Shop in Doughnut Shop Opening #60233! That certainly seems redundant... -

Wouldn’t a pet shop be a logical choice for a future set? Folks sometimes bring pets into their homes for the holidays... -

In the new 60234 People Pack - Fun Fair the ice cream scooper looks to have old school attire for ice cream parlors. Sometimes the torso in these People Packs show up in our modulars the following year. Could the 2020 modular have an ice cream parlor - it’s easily an establishment missing from the modular line! Why would they make that torso for just a Fun Fair pack? Any one interested in an ice cream parlor? -
Excellent job - so detailed!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Am I the only one that thinks that the days of a single purpose building are a thing of the past? I guess we’ll never see a hospital, police station, court house or museum. I for one could use a break of the multi purpose trend. LEGO do you hear me? -

I always thought a modular school would look silly with the short leg minifigures standing at their desks, but with the new Harry Potter medium sized legs (that can articulate to sitting) let’s bring on a high school modular LEGO! -

In the US suburbs it is common for Santa Claus to ride around on firetrucks & wave to children during the holiday season maybe that’s the connection? -
How about a zoo sub theme? They certainly have a lot of animal molds already! I hope LEGO would make a LEGO giraffe ?!

And I’m equally confused how no one at LEGO fact checked anything that was stated in this video before it was released. Looking forward to the set (which is what ultimately matters), but this whole video was disjointed from the modular line in my opinion.

Did you make adjustments to the interior stairs to still connect to the roof door too?
-
Haven’t historically the modular building fans been vocal about how they generally prefer no vehicles, so those pieces can go to the building or interiors? I do like this building and plan to get it, but some of the things he says and that LEGO included in the video appear to be disconnected to the modular audience as a whole in my opinion. I think this is a great design, don’t get me wrong, but the press marketing continues to make me cringe on this set.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I’ll get the set & look forward to the build surprises that the designer speaks to, but truth be told I just don’t find the interior details too exciting overall. I know that we have the ability to add more furnishings as we see fit. I think PR’s kitchen was so rich with detail that is what’s lacking here. I also have to admit I get caught up on the fact the diner has no refrigerator that I can see. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I know there is the question regarding if it's a corner or not. I'm trying to imagine how it would lock at the two pins/tech bricks to Assembly Square if those are open stairs we see for this Diner Modular. Anyone have any thoughts? Anyone think this infers it's a corner based on this detail? -

Usually there are Easter Eggs & they use the designer's names. Anyone know of a Jim? -
That news on the Godzella set makes sense as he was in The LEGO Batman movie with other licensed Dimensions villains like the Wicked Witch, Stripe (Gremlins), Lord Voldemort, etc. Also in The LEGO Batman movie was Jaws, King Kong & I think Agent Smith? I wonder if the latter three were also meant to be in Year 3 LEGO Dimensions? Any thoughts?

I have heard that the new set is the Millennium Falcon too, but that it will be able to be converted from the Star Wars version to the more recent The Force Awakens. It will contain all minifgures from both generations. Has anyone else heard that yet?

I'm not able to post the link, but someone else can. You need to do a you tube search for "CoinOpTv" user. This link is called "LEGO Dimensions Is Not Cancelled Everyone Stay Calm". I'm not taking a stance if his info is legit, he builds up anticipation for a bit before his claim of the reboot toward the end. Anyone else hear such a rumor elsewhere?

There's a you tube video talking about the possibility the game will be rebooted as Dimensions 2 vs. Year 3. Check it out. I take it for what it's worth...

I like how Alanah from IGN asked (maybe even baited) what can we expect to see in the next 12 months and he pivoted to Wave 9. I'm glad someone finally asked the question with a timeframe. I was one of those people who lost all their game play from Year 1 when I downloaded Year 2, but stuck with Dimensions & loved the game. I hate TT who did a terrible customer service job on handling that saved progress issue more or less saying "their bad" with a smile, but move right along nothing we can do here. One would think they could have been creative enough to offer 2-3 fixes that says we can transfer completed progress of the main story to those who lost their data as a peace act/curtesy, but no such luck. Despite my frustrations I would have bought Year 3 content sad to see it go.

That is too funny. I stopped playing Superman & switched to Supergirl because I find the coffee & tea comment completly annoying
