  1. I'm glad Akbar's getting such support - for some reason he's just unspeakably cool. My top ten most wanted please make them Lego we wants them Star Wars minifigs: 1 Admiral Akbar 2 Momaw Nadon (Hammerhead) or Roron Corobb 3 Death Star Gunner 4 Endor Rebel 5 Shaak Ti 6 Mon Mothma 7 Quarren (Squidface) 8 Chief Chirpa 9 Orrimaarko (Pruneface) 10 Padme
  2. Hmm, the Middle Ages... I don't suppose they're going to make a plague victim set - bubo-ridden villagers, big red cross to go on the door of that horsey inn, horse and cart carrying away the dead. Would be great. And a gibbet too! Let's have some Lego hangings!
  3. Love these designs Mr Spielbrick - I'm a big fan of Dr Who and some of these are spot on - I think this torso is better for Doctor #9. One thing I think you could improve though - I think Captain Jack's face needs a change. Every time I see my Mutt minifig I think he is Captain Jack, so I'd use his head aswell as his hair. Just an idea.
  4. I'd love to some more townsfolk to build up a bit of a mediaeval settlement, and I'd love a few elves, especially if they do make them foresty, but the one thing I'd love more than anything is a Lego Centaur - like a horse body, with a new piece instead of the head to attach a human torso to. So new mythical creatures gets my vote. Hell, I'd go for any of these options!
  5. I'm not sure how to vote, but I think it looks wrong when I have to mix my yellow Star Wars/Harry Potter figures with my pink/brown figures. Duplo-wise, that token brown firefighter is the only dark skinned Duplo figure in the shop at the moment. I emalied TLG about it (I'd like my daughter to have a bit of a racial mix in her toys!) but they were a bit blasé about it. Personally I think it's a problem, but they don't seem to. Personally then I see yellow figures as neutral so I deliberately keep the pink and brown heads out of my non-licensed collections.
  6. Nice review Pedro. (Great name too). This is such a great set - brilliant for building up armies or just picking up a couple of great minifigs. Plus it goes really well with the Troll Assault Wagon.
  7. Building up an Imperial Shuttle from scratch with parts ordered on the Internet. Also, a great big stand for all my non-Star Wars minifigs to stand on. It's 68 studs wide, 48 deep, and currently 17 bricks tall - it goes up in steps so that you can see everyone. And I'm also building up a Coruscant display stand for my Prequel Trilogy minifigs to stand on. It doesn't really look that much like Coruscant yet - just a big black display stand. Busy times.
  8. This is the most bizzare thread ever, so naturally I'll reply. Grains: Fusili pasta Vegetables: onions definitely Fruit: banana or pineapple Dairy: brie! Meat: lamb, pork chops Sweets: Vimto chewits Well, that's a weight off my chest.
  9. I only had the bluecoats when I was a kid, so I'm going with them. I thought the redcoats were ace when I saw them years later - like the bluecoats only... red! Still, I'm sentimental so blue blue blue for me.
  10. Mine's two days after - three cheers for my wife who'll be taking time out from my b-day bbq to get the set for me!
  11. A couple of people have said this, but then the trolls, dwarves, and elves didn't come out at the same time as Lord Of The Rings. Mr Phes, is there any chance your Lego Ambassadors are bluffing you? Or that it's being kept under wraps?
  12. I seem to remember reading something on From Bricks To Bothans where the Lego rep was answering a question about the cost of Lego in the UK compared to the USA. He said that they have to keep the prices higher over here to keep it aimed at the upper end of the market.
  13. Thanks for the comparisons - like it. I've thought for a while that maybe Lego is getting a bit intrcate and that it was better when it was simpler, but I guess that's just my rose-coloured glasses, cos those newer sets are defo better I think.
  14. I can't vouch for the Shrieking Shack, but the Graveyard is a great set - the best Harry Potter set I think. I've dismantled all the other HP sets I bought except for this one. It's got a range of decent minifigs, including the skeletons; it's got some really cool looking graves, that little crypt which is very cool, a bunch of animals. It looks very dark and gothic and reflects the mood of the scene in the book really well too. Definitely the Graveyard I would say.
  15. That is exactly what I want from the next battle packs - exactly those minifigs, except maybe two biker scouts and two Imperial Officers (in black) in the second pack. Hoping we'll get Home One, but also want a Hoth set like everyone else with a Wampa and Luke on his Tauntaun. I'd really like a new and improved Cantina with added scum and villainy (preferably with Momaw Nadon (Hammerhead)). I suspect though that we'll get a lot more in the way of Clone Wars next year. I'm hoping 2009 will be relatively quiet, because I'll be broke from all the sets I want this year .
  16. Troll Assault Wagon for me and Duplo Cranky The Crane for my daughter Next up: Drawves' Mine Defender for me and Salty The Dockyard Diesel for she.
  17. I completely agree - I live in Greater Manchester and I've noticed that Lego has become scarce. TRU used to have a huge Lego display, now it's half the size, and not much bigger than the MegaBlocks display. Asda sells about 4 sets, and Forbidden Planet has a couple of Star Wars sets generally. Is it just TLG's doing, or are people really not buying Lego over here anymore? Or are they just buying it online?
  18. Haven't seen the 4th film yet, but limiting it to five: Brody, Toht, Short Round, Mola Ram, and Elsa. Wouldn't mind that crusador either, or the Cairo sword guy; but then that'd be seven! How about a poll...?
  19. I used to look down on the people who do that. Who's wily now?! Do we know if this is the final final design/minifigs? Are they really putting all those rare figs from the UCS MF in there?
  20. Hhohhhhh.... wipe that slobber from my chin. Forget the Clone Wars sets, I'm working 24 hours a day to save up for this. But no DS Gunners? Even with all the other minifigs? I'm hoping for a Death Star Battle Pack.
  21. £2800 (€3500, $5500) as an estimate. Of which Star Wars sets about £1600. It's really hard to judge because I've bought so much from Bricklink over the years. If I was to part out the figures and pieces which aren't from sets, I think it would probably be a bit more.
  22. That's ingenious! That must be one of the most inventive MOCs I've seen. Can't wait to see the full orchestra.
  23. Got a whole mass of black bricks for my Coruscant display stand. Need something dark for all those white clones to stand on. Waiting, desperately waiting, to get paid so I can finally buy some trollage and dwarfage.
  24. That is an amazing looking set. But why do they have to climb those steps to get the monorail? Why can't they just get it on the ground floor? Seriously speaking, good luck completing that - you'll be the envy of many a collector when it's done. I've collected some of the rarer Star Wars sets piece by piece and it's a long and expensive process, but it feels damn good when it's done! Good luck
  25. What a coincidence - how is the old place? Let me take a wild stab - Medical College, University Of Wales?? They don't call me the Welsh wizard for nothing at all.
