I found a way to reduce the speed: adding weight to tow... I made a test with the finished locomotive and a wagon holding the battery box. It runned perfectly on a straight rail, but it tilted on the inner side when on curved the rail, making the wheels slip. I know I don't have the right kind of tires, so I'll have to do more experiments. I also think I'll need to have a locomotive on each end of the monorail...

Oh and now I see why you thought the pulley wheel driove the wheel directly I did try it yesterday, and using a pulley wheel made it run a bit fast, but using half bushes instead made it a bit too slow, and worse, the rubber band wasn't stretched enough and slipped a lot. I'll experiment more this week end!

Each rubber band connects the pulley wheel and the two half bush on one side. Thanks for your advices. I can't see a way to get rid of the rubber bands and to drive the wheels with gears. I've updloaded a LXF file here

Hi guys, I'm back with more noobs questions! I'm working on a small 6-wide monorail that uses one stud wide brickbuilt rails. I've come up with simple design (inspired by Psiaki's) and tested it with relative success. Since the monorail is supposed to run during a convention, I'm wondering if the motor will overheat and if I'd need to put a white coupling gear in there, and if so how? There are two yellow rubber bands that can't be shown in this LDD screencap:

Thanks everyone I tried a lot of different solutions. That one looked the best. That's the one... hard to find and rather expensive The trick for the curve is to carefuly place the pivot between two parts. I'm working on the instructions, but I'll sell them for a few bucks (I'm sorry, but I need some Lego money ). That said, the LDD file of the old Ares is available on my website. The quarter round tile is really great!

Exactly 3 years ago, I designed the Ares starfighter on LDD, and I always wanted to build it one day. That day has come, and I'm very happy with the result!!

So what is the answer you wanted to hear? "Oh, we're shocked! We'll slap Stash on the wrist and tell him to never do it again!"? Thank you. Critique is waved away. Glad others have noticed that too. What you're saying is that a "Ok, critique is duly noted and we'll consider it." answer would have solved everything? And yes, when a member of the staff says or does something (that isn't completely absurd), the rest of the staff supports him. That's what we do in a team. For the record, we've all seen what was told in the chamber, we've all read your complaint, and it's been noted. And we had a discussion on how to handle things better in the chamber (personally I'm not fond of how the chamber works right now, but it's the best we can do at the moment). Honestly, what do you want more so that we could all go on, both you and the staff?

Thanks everyone There's pink because the females here are part of an organization called "The Amazons", a group only composed of female scientists, engineers, pilots, etc. And that's why I'm frustrated to not having the time to work on the story I had for this build I'll post pictures of the Ares-3 as soon as I have them... Not sure if some recognized it, but it is based on the first generation of Ares fighter, which I posted on EB 3 years ago:

Again a nice CS spacecraft ZC! I always found this canopy to be too big for small spacecraft, but it looks nice in this configuration

@pombe @Kodan Black I understand what you're saying, but let's say one week you build a nice spaceship and a building for which you'll get a 4. The following week you use in your story the exact same nice spaceship and building and you just change the dialogues... do you expect to also get a 4? @Jacob Nion I think that yes, alien could join a corporation in AG2
